Jun 27, 2012I started with a Left side view of a part and created a sectioned view right down the middle so you can see the insides from another view. the part is pretty big so i used a Break to shorten it to fit the page. I also placed a smaller and separate isometric view of the same part and want this view to inherit the same break. How can I do this? If I go into the display options of the iso view, all the cut inheritance options are grayed out and can't be clicked. I've seen this done before, but i'm sure i missed a step somewhere.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Make Exploded View Trail Lines Exempt From View Break Out?
Oct 31, 2013I have made an exploded view and placed it an a drawing. I would like to view inside one of the bodies to show where the exploded internals sit, however when I do a break out of the body the trail lines from the exploded internals also get sectioned. Is there a way to control the sectional properties of a trail line?

Apr 19, 2012when i have a detail view on the layout, the text and the border line have the same line thickness. I want that the text will be bold (0.5mm thick) and the border line will be thicker (0.13mm thick).
i have tried to change the layer's line thickness, but it effected both the text and the line border. how can i separate between them?

Dec 13, 2011I have a detail view of a groove on a cylinder. I want to dimension a diameter in which I only see one side, the other side is not in the detail view.
From some posts I see that I should auto insert a centerline then dimension from centerline then choose options "dimension linear".
First when I try to auto insert centerlines it does not insert the centerline for me. Perhaps because my detail is smaller. If I make the field for the detail view larger it makes a centerline, but I dont want to do that. I have tried making a sketch of the other side and the centerline. When I dimension from here I do not have the right click option of dimension linear, instead only arrowhead options.

Feb 14, 2012When dimensioning views on idw my line weights disappear on the view I am dimensioning. The Display Line Weights check box stays checked during this.
The only way to get them to display correctly is to select a line in the view and right click select properties and hit OK.

Basically I have a coworker who designs his electrical harnesses in Inventor. Some of the wiring branches off the main harness are longer than others and he would like to break only that specific branch of wiring, not the entire horizontal or vertical area of the view.

I have changed my project file settings to "Read-Write", I have tried this in both the Default Standard and my own standard. I changed the "Visible (ANSI)" Line Weight, saved it, then hit "Save" on the Styles and Standards bar. It works for a document. But when I open a new document, the line weight has reverted back to the old value.

I would like to be able to constrain a Break to the part, either a sketch on the view or maybe from Workplanes in the part.

Aug 7, 2012I just installed Inventor 2013 (First Mistake) and when I attempt to creat a breakout view, Inventor crashes. The folks at Autodesk are blaming this on my machine running multiple threads. Aren't all modern computers supposed to be running multiple threads?

Oct 6, 2013I have a view of an assembly where I used a break out to break through a part. I want to make a section of this, and have that view respect that the part was broken and show it as broken in the new view.
The section view shows the full part 100% unbroken. In the edit view, the only option for cut inheritance is "break". All others are greyed out.
Why I want to do this: I am unable to break it in the section view because there is no option to break through a single part a specified distance. I cannot break an area "from point" or "to sketch" because they don't let you choose a single part for the effect, and the parts completely included in the break out this way are not going to show up in the parts list, so you cannot adjust their section participation, therefore I also cannot just break an area and then choose what parts don't get the effect.

AutoCAD Inventor :: 2013 - Drawing Screen And Printer Line Weight
Feb 23, 2013I´m using Inventor Professional 2013 64-bit build 138.No matter what I get 1 pixel wide lines on screen and on printer.
I can control line colour and line type (as in solid, dashed, dotted etc) from Manage - Styles editor - Layers.
When I make changes to the "Visible" layer:
- the line colour changes come through both to screen and printer
- the line type only comes through to the screen, but not to the printer
- the line weight is ignored both by screen and printer
Tools - Application Options - Drawing - Display line weights
seems to have no effect at all.how to get drawing line weights to come through to the printer

May 14, 2010How can I move a detail view to another sheet in a drawing in 2009? I have only been able to copy the detail and it's parent view to the 2nd sheet and then suppress the parent view on the 2nd sheet so that only the detail view is visible.
However, when I go back to the first sheet and try to suppress or delete the detail view, it also deletes / suppresses the detail circle from the parent view.
