Nov 7, 2012Is it possible to add an exploded view to a presentation file via the api? I can access existing exploded views, but did not see an add method.

Oct 8, 2013I hid a part or something in a presentation drawing. This was within the presentation environment.
It asked if I wanted to remove associativity. I did. Now I want to put it back. How do I turn it back on? Basically, I've added new parts and they won't show up in the presentation explosion.

Feb 19, 2013I need to create an exploded view of an assembly to show how it's supposed to be put together. "Hey, why not use the slick presentation feature in Inventor? I've already got the model!" It's not working out to be that slick.
Outlined in red, is the "wrong" trail that Inventor put in by default. I added the highlighted trail, which is what I want and reflects how things actually go together. How do I get rid of the one I don't want? Hide turns off both of them. Delete deletes the tweak. All I've found was a workaround where I hide the line in the drawing.

Jun 18, 2012I'm in the process of creating an exploded view of an assembly. I'm having to do this in a presentation file, and I was wondering if it was possible to section one of the parts in the exploded view. To be more specific, I have the majority of my parts spread out around another assembly in the center of the page. I want to get a three quarter section view of the center assembly so the internals are visible. Is this possble from within a presentation file and if so, how can it be done?

Jan 9, 2014Our company recently made a huge leap forward moving from Inventor 11 to Inventor 2014. We have found an issue with Tweak Trails that we cannot seem to get resolved.
The trails are displaying on "top" of the assembly geometry in both the IPN and the IDW files. For instance if I pull a shaft our of normal position, the trail will display completely over the holding piece, instead of "disappearing" as it goes into the hole. I have a picture below that shows what we are experiencing.
Notice that the trail shown on the shaft is visible on "top" of the shaft, as well as the mating pieces geometry. We were used to seeing the trail "under" the model geometry, and only visible from the end of the shaft into the hole. Is it possible to get this visualization style back?!?

Dec 1, 2011In some drawings, parts and trail lines will randomly disappear or get rearranged. Once the parts disappear, the only way we're able to get them back is by copy and paste the explosion into the presentation file and regenerate the view.what happened to the .idw file and how it should look.
We've tried replacing the video card and repairing the Inventor installation, but still experience the same issue on some drawings.Running Inventor 2008 on Windows XP.

I know when you create the view you can select which representation and level of detail to use, but how do you change these after the exploded view is created?

First I had to customize my ribbon to add these commands because I cannot find the "Presentations" tab.
Next when I inserted these commands into a user commands portion, they were greyed out. I am trying to do this in assembly mode. I assume that is where it should be done.

I now think and exploded isometric may be the better way to present the drawing but as I have now made the frame all one element what is the best way to seperate it?
the corners I think will be easy I just create a planar at 45 degrees and use that to split the corners but is there an easy way to seperate the mid PFC and angle?

The Call function breaks with: "Invalide procedure call or argument". I also tried "Set oAssemblyPattern = oAssDef.OccurencePatterns.etc...." instead of Call function, but with the same result. Same error for declaration change of "oAssemblyPattern" to "FeatureBasedOccurrencePatternProxy".

Feb 8, 2010From a VB.Net program, I'm trying to create a dimension on a drawing document between two parts in an assembly. I can get the parts using component occurrence. The line marked below throws the following error: The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG)).
As you may see, I have allocated memory for both "Edge" and "Face" (Dim oEdge1 As Face) albeit one is commented out. Attached is the screen shots from the attribute helper add-in. In it, you will notice that the attributes are of type: "Face".

I have created an exploded view of an assembly, only I have edited the assembly by adding a whole bunch of fasteners etc. Now I want to go into the explode file and add the extra components to the related exploded steps - only there is no steps to add the new components too, each component is on its own. The functionality I am talking about is a sw thing and there is probably another process to do this, or a work around.

Sep 19, 2011I'm trying to create an animated GIF for use in a PowerPoint presentation. I've created the images in PDN and saved the cels as GIFs with the transparency threshhold set to 255. (I've also tried 0 and values in between). The individual cels have opaque white backgrounds, verified by inserting them in a PP slide overlapping another image. When I load them as layers into PDN and save as an AGIF, then change the extension and load onto the PP slide, the white backgrounds are now transparent!
This wouldn't normally be a problem, except that the transparent areas have an odd mottled effect to them instead of being solid white. How can I correct it?

I have no problem to create AVI file in my laptop but have such problem in my office's desktop computer.

Oct 11, 2013I have a large assembly in Inventor Pro 2012 where I'm trying to show the installation process in Presentation. Since the sequences behave as opposite to an explosion, all the parts return to their original location after a tweak.
However if I am trying to show a jig that works in the installation process that I want to show being removed, how can I do that. In the assembly, the jig is constrained to the the part being installed, which makes it very difficult to show it being removed since the move happens first then it mates to the part during an animation. Any way to reverse the animation sequence?
