AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Super Elevations - How To Get Corridor To Follow Default Crossfall In Assembly

Dec 13, 2012

I did a user defined super for my road.  This worked well.  However when I deleted the super data.  To try something else.  The corridor shows 0% camber or crossfall.  How do I get the corridor to follow the default crossfall in the assembly again?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Transition With Super-elevation?

May 6, 2010

With Civil 2010 I used superelevataion to transition a street's cross fall from left to right. It was very straight forward with 2010.

Now with 2011 it appears that I cannot add superelevation to an alignment with any curve and change the crossfall of a street from left to right over 20m.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Super Elevation Corridor With ETW Design Profile

Aug 15, 2012

I've got a highway project for which I'm modeling the corridor but the design profiles given to me are for the right lane top edge (ETW) and not the centerline (crown).  This is an undivided planer roadway with a typical 2% cross-slope.  How can I use that profile for the right edge to run my corridor?  I can't seem to get the corridor to use the super table that is attached to the centerline when I use an offset assembly.  Is an offset assembly the right way to go with this design?

What I've done just to get going is to take that right edge design profile and draw it in my centerline profile view, then lower it 0.24' (which is my 2% normal cross-slope for a 12' lane) and then use that as a centerline profile and let my normal super assembly and table data control the corridor through the supers.  So far that is working--but is there a better way to do this?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Alignment / Corridor / Super Elevation Error

Jul 16, 2012

Using Civil 3D 2012 SP 1 on Win7 Pro 64-bit.

Is there any reason why a corridor model would not be respecting the manually entered super elevation values in the alignment? I have several stations that should be calculated with even super elevation values, but they aren't. For example, at station 0+080 on my alignment the left crown should be running at -3%, but it is actually being calculated at -2.47%. It isn't just one station; it's most of them. No overridden stations, vertical targets, etc in the corridor. Just a fairly straight-forward align (hor/vert) with super, simple assembly (two lanes, shoulder, daylight), simple corridor.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Datum To Follow Protruding Surfaces

Dec 4, 2013

Am trying to create a corridor datum surface that goes around Protruding lanes but it seems I am Short on knowledge here. the outer lane, LaneOutSideSuper has a greater thickness than the inner lane (same sub assembly) and I would like my datum surface (actually, not only the datum surface but other layer surfaces) to attach its self around the bottom links of both surfaces but it shoots from the Crown_sub to the outer lane Datum.

I have used the bottom links overhang and adding feature lines to the surfaces but it doesn't seem to cut it. Attached is an illustration of the section view. The top figure is what I hope to get and below is what i seem to get.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Sub-assembly Not Showing In Corridor?

Mar 25, 2013

I have created a corridor of an exit ramp.  Part way through the corridor, the left side slope isn't generated.

The subgrade doesn't exist.  In the Sideslope to no side slope.png image that the corridor has a side slope and ditch at 10+600.  Also in the 10+600.png image.  But at 10+610 there is no side slope.  There is OG surface out far enough, but it seems that in the 10+610.png image that there isn't enough OG surface.   Orignally there was survey data missing in this area and it was added after the fact to the OG surface.  Why doesn't the corridor recognize it, if that is the case.  I have updated and syncronized the heck out of everything, but it still doesn't seem to work.

I should point out that this is in meters (the cross sections are 10m apart) and that it is the same Assembly being used for this area.  Also all targets are consistant through this area as well.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Assembly Not Daylighting Properly

May 8, 2012

I'm trying to successfully get through a corridor, but to no avail.  I'm certain I'm missing a step, and I'm certain that the step I'm missing is setting a surface to daylight to.

My project:  It's a simple grassed waterway in a parabolic shape that is ran on a proposed profile grade up a draw.  As you can see in the screen shots, it should daylight to the surface on each side.  You can also see that the majority of the profile is deeper than the assembly is tall, so I should have a corridor that daylights on each side with a gradual cut up to the surface.

I profiled the centerline with offsets.  I need the offsets to see how deep to lay the proposed centerline in regards to how deep my waterway will be.  I get a bunch of error messages when I run the coridor, and they all deal with the offsets.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Assembly Elevation Target

Dec 20, 2013

how to create corridor, and I have a question about assembly elevation targets.

When creating a corridor, the profile is required as dependent object, which gives the elevation of the centerline of the road. Based on the definition of assembly, the elevation of the corridor at the offset targets can be determined by the profile.  My question is if the assembly elevation target specifies the elevation at the offset target too? If so, why both profile and assembly elevation target are required?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Fails To Follow All Assembly Updates At IDW Of Mid To Big Files

May 19, 2013

I use IDW file as “fine” checker of my assemblies design. Sometimes it is much easier to see general picture in variety of spots and set dimensions to check the designed assembly using IDW file.

Working within mid to big assemblies Inventor mostly fails to follow the opened assembly IDW file with actual assembly. When switch from assembly to IDW Inventor may indicate the update sign at IDW but finally did not update all changes. After the “Update” sign has been used there is no any chance to force Inventor to make one more update. I mean there is no any manual update tool or way to force one more update. The only one way is to close the IDW and open it again. It quite time consuming process.

The second problem opened IDW file is automatically updates somewhere in background and in most cases makes troubles of changing parameters in assembly or subassemblies since it somehow can catch up changes first when it opened but not active. User cannot prolong working without either updating IDW or closing it. Either way it takes too much time.

some ways to manually force IDW update and to postpone IDW files from automatically update in background?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Super Elevation With No Curves

I thought super elevation would be the best way to do this (I dont want any actual super elevation, just transitions in cross slope). When I select the alignment and "Calculate/Edit Superelevation" i get the following message in the commanding line:

"_AeccCalcEditSuperelevation No superelevation data has been calculated for the selected reference alignment." It does not bring up the wizard.

My runway alignment doesn't have any curves and I'm thinking that's the problem. Is is possible to create super elevation without curves?
