I created a new title block drawing and for some reason a symbol popped up in the middle of it. I can't click on it or figure out why it's there. How to get rid of it?

Is there a way to center the drawing directly in the middle of the page?
What type of file would i need to model the car in in order to have it cut out using a cnc router/five axis mill? Would it be the same for wheels (made out of 2mm plastic)?
Out of the blue, my zoom on my middle wheel slowed down. So, now I have to spin my wheel at least 20 more times when I zoom in. The problem only occurs in Civil 3D not any other programs. How to fix my zoom?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to build an expression to display the Middle Ordinate for profile curves. I don't usually do this but it's required for this project.
The first thought was to subtract the PVI elevation from the profile elevation. The PVI elevation is easy but I don't see an easy way to get the profile elevation. I can go through the whole formula for calculating the grade. But that will probably take some debugging.
This only happens on one person's prints. All layers are thawed/on. Yet when he prints, there's a random line going across the drawing at 45 degrees. This happens if he prints from paperspace or modelspace. The line shows up right from the print preview. Since it only happens on his computer
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weldment assembly. It is a subassembly under a main assembly. In the 2D drawing of this main assembly, I tried to indicate the welding symbols for the subassembly assembly. The "Get Weld Symbol" is grey out.
How can I indicate welding symbol in the 2D drawing?
We used Furix BetterWMF 2013 to copy our drawings from AutoCAD 2013 to Word 2007. Never had a problem till we upgraded to 2013 for both products. Now when we paste the drawing into Word (for our product manuals) any Ohm symbols turn into Question marks.
I'm assuming the problem is not AutoCAD, as it displays correctly there.
When I trim or move a block (roof trim mostly) there is an outline of the block I am working on, I know the solution, if you move the block over, it moves but the outline stays where the block used to be, then I copy it back and delete the outline or original block that made the outline and its back to normal.
-Trim BUg02 is my trim after its been trimmed with mysterious outline left over
-Trim Bug03 is my trim after being moved with mysterious outline left in objects original place
Just trying to add an existing symbol to a drawing sheet. I know i'm not formating the point correctly and i get a position error. How can i get the point location of two intersecting lines in my border to hard code the location?

How can I draw the bottom line, with an angle of 132 relative to the middle line?

My RCP at 1/8" scale looks okay. Yet in my 1"=10'0" POT plan,
I would like these exit lights/signages to appear double in size when printed,
(since POT is merely a schematic)
From 1/8" scale to 10' scale (96 to 120), the symbols by logic should appear
80% smaller, not larger.
Can this be done with annotative block?
I use a CommandManager.Pick command to select my drawing view and i want to put information of this view to a prompted entry in my sketched symbols, i have many same symbols in my page and i want to put a different description for each symblos but with a same prompted entry name, ex.: <NAME>

I'm a keen amateur on the computer and run my own construction company. We currently have a steel ruler as our logo, but I'm trying to get a spiral staircase also. Not sure if two logo's is allowed; the steel ruler has our company name imprinted on it and I thought it was cool way to display our name. Probably severley faultered from a pro.
Was hoping to find some vector art of a helical staircase but not much out there. So we made a couple of beautiful helical stairs for a client, and I'm trying to trace that and use it as our logo also.
I'm tracing it in vector art because we have a Roland GX24 vinyl cutter and I'm making my own banners etc.
I have three queries:
1: The pen is showing up some strange invisible paths which only appear in the plugin cutstudio (where I haven't closed the paths off I presume?). How can I get the paths to be as drawn?;
2: When I go to cut this, the vinyl cutter will treat the paths as single slices. This design will be as if drawn, so I will want a way of creating two paths to the strokes, probably 2mm width apart. That will then leave a piece of vinyl 2mm in width so when I peel off, the vinyl will stay there; like a pen stroke of a handwritten drawing.
3: What snapping should I be using? I've always had problems with points or paths not being snapped together perfectly. The cutter will end up cutting some of the other adjoining 2mm vinyl and after time this will cause the vinyl to peel off.
since some weeks i have a real curious bug in 3dsmax.With less words: Everytime i want to open a File Dialog Window in 3dsmax it crashes directly after the mouse click without any warning. It is like something has killed my 3dsmax.exe process.In other words: I can't work anymore. Some examples for the File window are:
File --> Open
File --> Save as
MAXScript --> Run Script
and so on...
The only way i can save my MaxFile is to overwrite my existing File by pressing "CTRL+S"..Another curious thing is, that it seems to happen with random max files. If i work on a new scene everything is perfect, but after a week this problem happens with this scene too.First i thought that this problem occurs only on my computer, but yesterday another worker of our company had the same issue on a max file, which i have never seen before.Both of us haven't installed any software the last weeks.Another idea was, that we have a new windows hotfix, which occurs this issue, but all of our other machines are up to date too.
I seem to be doing something that causes an empty bounding box to appear in my document and when I attempt to delete the bounding box I can't. It always remains on the screen. When I select any objects in the design, the mysterious bounding box encompasses it and the object. I can even move the empty bounding box to any corner of the artboard and when I select an object it will look as if the object has some hidden content in the corner where the empty bounding box was because it incorporates the mystery bounding box with the object's natural bounding box.
I'm running CS5 on a Windows machine with 8gigs of RAM.
I'm having trouble plotting a symbol over a line. For example, I'm doing a corner record and need to put our symbol for a set pipe on the corner of the property line. Our symbol for a pipe is just an open circle. I want to put the circle on the corner and do not want the the property line to be shown inside that circle. Essentially I want to make it look like I trimmed the line inside the circle but I want to leave the line intact so there is no gap in the boundary. What is the way to do something like this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with a LOT of monitoring well symbols which have labels next to them. The symbols are simple drawings and the label is just text.
Is there a way to be able to export these with their coordinates and labels to a tablem (PNEZD style)? If not, and I don't think I can, how do I create a similar item that is "exportable" and would act like a point feature in ArcPad or other GIS based software.
I am in C3D 2012 and using Romans.shx for my text. When labeling an Arc, the degree symbol comes out too close to the following text/number. Is there any way to adjust the spacing on curved text. On a straight line it looks fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe've had a little nagging problem that we've just been living with, but getting a little tired of it: when building a pipe network the plotted line will stop plotting at the outter wall of the structure, thus leaviung a gap between the pipe and the structure. On a 48" manhole it's hardly noticable, but when the manhole gets larger, so does the problem. Check out the attached pdf and you'll see what I'm talking about.
I've been through all the style setting I can think of, but I thought there might be a variable to take care of it...like the FACETDEV variable for crossing pipe.
I am using C3D 2012. When I draw a fence line (barbwire) it works fine until it is a short section, then the "x" symbol does not show.
You can change the scale but that also changes the symbol size. You used to be able to change this in the command line. Is there a way to do that without creating another style?

I have been searching around all morning for a way to create a symbol legend in C3D 2012. Is there a way to create a legend of point sysmbols being used with in a dwg? I could do this manually but that could take a while if I have lots of sysmbols.

I can format the text just fine, but can't figure out any way to add a symbol to a label. I would like to just add some notes to the balloon so that I can update them manually but all I can find is to have a symbol. So I created a symbol, the insertion point for the symbol is shown. For some reason I get an extra number and the symbol offcenter. Why is this happening? What I'm really looking for is a balloon that is fully customizable so that I can just add text to the top and bottom and fill out the details.
