AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Moved CulDeSac And Now It Won't Rebuild Within Corridor

Aug 4, 2013

I had a corridor built with a CulDeSac on a side access road. Problem I was running into was the daylighting from the assembly on curve so I finally decided that I needed to move the CulDeSac 20 feet further down the road. I deleted the CulDeSac region and when I did that the Final Grade for the EOPs profiles were deleted with it. I then moved the EOP alignments (Left & Right side) 20 feet further down the road and readjusted the start and ending of the alignments. Then went back to the existing grade profiles of the EOP alignments and redrew in the Final Grade profiles. I added back in the Regions for each Baseline and set the targets to  Road CL Alignment and Final Grade Profile. These are the exact same steps I took originally to build the CulDeSac the first time and it worked great. Now it won't even build the CulDeSac.

When I deleted the region the FG of the EOP disappeared, but actually still showed in the Toolspace so the new FG profiles with same name were seconds/duplicates. Once I saw that I deleted the originals from Toospace and renamed the duplicates and used them for the Baselines.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Update Intersection Regions And Rebuild Corridor

Apr 5, 2012

I have 5 intersections in a drawing and i try to update all the intersections regions one after the other with "Update Regions and Rebuild Corridor". The problem is that sending up to date some intersections send other intersections (previously updated) out of date. So i cannot have all my intersections updated. The only way i found to correct this is to "Update regions automatically". but this way i cannot make changes to regions manually.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Force Corridor Rebuild Even If It Thinks It Is Current - 2014

Oct 23, 2013

How can you force the rebuild of a corridor in C3D 2014 even if the corridor thinks it is up to date? (no yellow exclamation shield icon).

We have .NET subassemblies that react to changes in the location of objects in XRef'd files.

In C3D 2012 when we changed the XRef'd objects position, we would right click the corridor and select rebuild and the subassemblies would rerun (no matter what).

In C3D 2014 if you select rebuild, the corridor does nothing if it thinks nothing has changed.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Copy Corridor Or Corridor Station Values Only?

Copy a corridor successfully? I'd like to try this just a little worried about the explosion of evil this may cause to my Civil 3D session.

Even all the properties of the corridor setup from one to another would be useful. I'm building one corridor and an 2nd one that matches everything except I need to replace my Assembly with one meant for stripping.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Surface Is Not Matching Corridor Top Links

Mar 21, 2013

My corridor surface is not matching my corridor top links.  see attachments.  this is affecting my volumes!

The section-plan(surface red).png is showing the section editor and the plan view.  the red highlighted line in section is the corridor surface and as you can see in plan view the surface is incorrect and wiggly.

The pdf is all my sections with the red linework being the corridor surface.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Add Rebuild Surface To Ribbon And Mouse

Dec 19, 2012

I would like to add a Rebuild Surface command to my Ribbon Modify Panel. I would also like to have it included in my Right Click menu after a surface is selected. There doesn't appear to be any way to initiate a surface rebuild from the command line and I don't find a command for it in the CUI editor.

There does seem to be a rebuild command in the API but I am not a programmer. Is this possible without programming?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contour Labels Vanish On Rebuild

Apr 9, 2013

2012. I have contours from a corridor merged into a full surface. I labeled the contours, then had to rebuild the corridor after the profile changed.

The contour labels all vanished and had to be redone. While surface contours work well for roadway corridors with few intersecting roads.  I am not finding them to be useful for parking lots.  I am thinking I will have to go back to the extract all contours from model and neaten them up for acceptable graphic presentation, then label them using the label line function and pray they don't change.  i.e. old LDD work flow.

The automatic outside boundary also does not work well when updating parameters and rebuilding.  The old fashioned LDD boundary from polyline seems to work better most of the time.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Possible To Toggle Automatic Rebuild Option For Surfaces In Code

May 11, 2013

I have some code that edits the breaklines of a surface. Everything works correctly, except for the surface rebuild when finished. At the end of the command I use:

surf.Rebuild();

But when the command completes I still need to manually rebuild the surface to see the result of my command's edits. This is in both 2013 & 2014. I shouldn't need to do this and was just wondering why the Rebuild() method doesn't always work.

Also, is it possible to toggle the Automatic Rebuild option for surfaces in code?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Annotative Alignment Stationing Not Independent When Moved?

Dec 20, 2012

I have a user with an alignment that has the stationing labels in 20 and 60 scales annotative. He needs to move one of the 60 scale labels because at that scale it overlaps another label nearbye. However when he makes the 60 scale the active scale and selects the label and moves it with a grip like normal, it also modifies the positioning of the 20 scale label. Not sure if it matters, but unlike normal annotative text, it does not shadow the other scales when he selects it, though that might be an independent setting.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Line Moves When Section With Projected Object Is Moved

Oct 31, 2012

C3D 2012 SP2.1 on Win7-64

I have a marker on a cross section that was projected from a short feature line that I created from a 3DPolyline.  If I move the cross section (they never come in correctly, right?), the feature line moves too. If I use a 3Dpoly, this doesn't happen. Only went to the feature line because for some reason, when I went to Project Multiple, the 3Dpolys weren't picked up.

Now I wondering if I've moved feature lines on other projects where I have moved the sections. Could be a real problem. Most of those, though, had a mix of feature lines and 3Dpolys, so they would only be partially messed up! Hopefully, I moved the sections before doing the projection.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Processing Linework Moves Moved Points Back To Original Location?

Sep 10, 2012

Some what new to Civil 3D, so I hope I explain this correctly..

I imported points with linework and then needed to move them slightly. I unlocked the points and moved them with no problems, but I then went to re-process linework which moves the points back to their original location. I have tried relocking the points first before re-processing linework, but then it appears that nothing has happened.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Gap In Corridor

Jun 13, 2013

C3D 2014

when I created a Top surface, C3D showed me otherwise. I need a gap at an intersection. In the attached DWG the intersection corridor has been removed from view by isolate.

I used 2 seperate baselines to force the road corridor to have a gap at the intersection.

Looked OK .. except ..later .. when I created a Top surface, only the first baseline is used to create the surface, the second baseline is skipped   : (

I obviously did not make a gap correctly. What is the correct way? Or.. is there no way .. must the designer create multiple seperate corridors when the road has gaps?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: DWF Corridor Quality

Dec 29, 2013

I started playing around with 3d dwf's. I'd like to share my corridors in a 3d dwf viewer or something similar but when it opens in design review, everything is skewed/ jagged/garbled. The other problem is that it exports everything (assemblies, alignments, sections  etc.) so it make viewing navigation difficult in the viewer for people that aren't CAD savvy to begin with. It would be ideal if you could select what you want to export similar to exporting a wmf file.

How do others share 3d models with non-cad people?

I want to create a grade (without object grade) using a corridor. This is my assembly:

This only contains  the sub assembly "DaylightBench" in the side right.

I have the alignment and profile. I have created the corridor.

red line= alignment
green line= feature line (code Intersecction) converted to polyline.
pink surface= surface (code TOP).

I have added a boundary for surface of type "add from polygon" and I have selected the closed polyline(green line).

However, the boundary seems doesn´t work.
