AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Legacy Size Limits

Dec 4, 2013

My co-worker had a dialog box show up that said something about Size Limits for Legacy Drawings. It had two options. The top one said something about when zoomed out you won't see details but once zoomed in you will see them. The bottom option was someting about showing full detail at all zoom levels.

She chose the top one, but now she wants to choose the other. I can't seem to find a variable or even a mention of this dialog box anywhere. How I can switch from one to the other? Or how I can get the dialog box to pop up again?

I don't have the exactly language, so that is way I have been so vague.

Photoshop :: Shape Tool Size Limits

Nov 20, 2013

I want to add a Rectangle with a specific size in CM but Photoshop won't allow me to enter a value above 25.4 cm (my canvas is 300cm x 300cm).

I can manually draw the shape as big as I like, which is annoying and I need to know why it's doing this, plus it would really speed up drawing accurate shapes.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Limits Of Offset Assemblies

Aug 1, 2013

I have an offset assembly and I have forced the skew of the second alignment. (Is a simple basic lane + a linkslopebetweenpoints and a markedpoint placed at the left extreme of a basic road assembly)

As you can see, there are errors at the area in which we have the greater angle between cross sections. What are the limits of this C3D feature ?  Above  more  that "x" degrees of cross sections directions difference C3D are going to fail ?

If I need to break it up into smaller pieces, what is the best way to do this? Is there a bridge or link between catalogs?

Photoshop Elements :: 11 - Change To Size Limits In Full Screen And Editor?

Dec 1, 2013

I'm working on a large image and while the Organizer is fine with it, neither the Editor nor the Full Screen view of the Organizer will work with it.

Currently I have MaxImageSize at 200M, but can't find a similar setting for the Editor, and clearly it doesn't work for the full screen view either, so if there is a setting that enables these functions, that would be useful information.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Point Number Not Visible When Legacy Hidden Shade Plot Is Selected

Sep 30, 2013

I am having difficulty with the display of my point numbers and description when plotting. I am doing piping desing and utilizing Civil 3D points for the coardinates and elevations to display in a point table. For my viewport, in the properties dialogue box, under the Shade Plot option, I have selected Legacy Hidden due to needing my pipes to display properly only to have my points not display properly. If I opt for Legacy Wireframe or As Displayed, my points display correctly but my pipes do not. Any clue as to how I can have both display properly?

Modifying the point size/text size assigned at particular annotation scale,

I’m wondering how the point size/text size assigned at particular annotation scale can be modified.

For example, in the attached screenshot, the point size assigned at the annotation scale of 1/1000 is big and I wanted to make it a bit smaller at that scale.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Adding New Factory Members To Legacy IPart

May 7, 2012

We use Inventor 2012 and will most likely upgrade to 2013 between Christmas and New Year's, when our company traditionally shuts down for a week. I recently had occasion to edit an iPart for a hex head machine screw, originally modeled some years ago by someone who's no longer with the company, to add some sizes. As you'll see, the member names are Hex Head Machine Screws-001.ipt, Hex Head Machine Screws-002.ipt, etc. Why does the table go from Hex Head Machine Screws-002 to Hex Head Machine Screws-290, you ask? I'll get to that in a minute.

This iPart was modeled several Inventor versions ago, when the operator had no control over the iPart factory member names. When Inventor did start offering this control, I jumped right on it. In any iParts I modeled from there on out, I used the capabilities of MS-Excel to create abbreviated part descriptions for the iPart factory member names.

Last week I needed to go into this part and add some sizes. If I added the new sizes in sequence by thread size and screw length, they were going to slot in between the existing  Hex Head Machine Screws-002 and Hex Head Machine Screws-003. The next unused number was 290, so I made the new factory members Hex Head Machine Screws-290 thru -296, as per the attached screen grab. Naturally the suffixes on the factory member names are out of sequence, and it isn’t very elegant.

As I see it, the other alternatives would have been:

1)      Put the new sizes at the end of the list (worse, IMO).
2)      Put the new sizes in sequence and renumber the factory members so they were sequential down the line. If I’d done this, then every factory member (say, Hex Head Machine Screws-011) after the newly added ones would have stood for a different size HHMS than it did before, which would have been really bad.
3)      Rework the table so the existing names with numerical suffixes went away and were replaced by mnemonic names, as on my more recently modeled iParts. This would have resulted in assemblies looking for factory members under names that no longer existed, but it would have been possible to substitute the screws under their new names. I should mention that we are using the Vault, which makes matters easier.

I would have liked to take approach (3), but I was under some time pressure to finish an assembly using these fasteners.

AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Set The Drawing Limits

Jul 4, 2012

In VB i had:

Dim newLimits(0 To 3) As Double
newLimits(0) = x1 - (x2 - x1)
newLimits(1) = y1 - (y2 - y1)
newLimits(2) = x2 + (x2 - x1)
newLimits(3) = y2 + (y2 - y1)
AcadDoc.Limits = newLimits

Now i thougt this works in this way:

 /// <summary>        ///     Testfunktion für Limits        /// </summary>        private static void Test()        {            var acDoc = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument;            var acDb = acDoc.Database;  acDb.Limmin = new Point2d(10, 50);            acDb.Limmax = new Point2d(10, 50);        }

But this is not working

I get the following Error: eLockViolation

I think this is from the Transaction and OpenMode.ForWrite - but where do i get such a transaction and the database open for writing.

And is there any way to force the result in the distance command to show all the decimals even if they are zeroes? When I specify 6 decimal places in the distance / measure command, I want to see 6 decimal places. If I don't, then I don't know if the rest of the digits are zeros or if it just didn't accept my choice to show 6 decimal places.

AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Increase The Drawing Limits

I am attempting to create a cm scale drawing in AutoCAD of an rc airplane with a 200 cm wingspan.  Problem is, the drawing only goes out to about 125 cm to the right, an I cannot pan or zoom out any further.  I can't seem to find an option anywhere to change this.  An Internet search has indicated I should use the limits command from the command prompt to increase the drawing limits, but this has had no effect.

How do I go about increasing the drawing limits?

AutoCad :: Point Of Drawing Limits In Model Space?

Oct 17, 2006

is there any point when you set up a new drawing in setting the drawing limits.

For example I am about to draw up a house plan at scale 1:100 which will be plotted on an A3 sheet. I envisage the floor plans will be on one A3 and the Elevations will be on another A3 sheet. Sections will go on another A3. I will have approx 6 paper sheets set up for this.
I plan to draw the whole lot in model space. Then move it around in paper space so each item is on a seperate sheet.

Is this the correct way to do it. If it is, then what is the point of having drawing limits in Model space? The books I have, say it is good drafting practice to set up limits. But I can't see why Also what is the point of setting up the grid display when half the time you draw right off the grid?

But then I moved my mouse horizontally and vertically on the screen, and found that the coordinate value at the bottom was from -25 on the left to 18 on the right, and from 0 at the bottom to 15 at the top. I am confused about what on earth does that limit? should it be 20 in length and 20 in width?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Limits And Fits Table Is WRONG

Jun 23, 2011

I just got back a submittal package from a customer. Many markups because of incorrect dimension callout for a certain fit.  When I dimensioned the drawing, I used the limit/fit calculator that is with Inventor.  Now I just compared this calculator with the ANSI B4.1-1976 standard that it is supposed to follow.  What I found was that the values in Inventor are wrong.

I just checked a few sizes and they do not match the ANSI standard. Not sure it there are other fits that have errors in them, but I will bet there are. Does Autodesk realize that if this information is put out, we have to take it as gospel.  I don't have the time to check every-little-stinking dimension. If the dims in the table is wrong, I might as well type them in myself and forget about using the table.

Here is a screen shot of some of the errrors that I found.  I also checked this size range for RC3, RC4 and RC5.  They all have errors in them too. I am sure there are more, just dont have the time to check.  We are not talking about "Freeware" here...

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: MText - Set Limits Box To Minimum?

Jan 11, 2006

I would like to write a routine to resize the MText limits box to the minimum size required to cover the text, for background masking purposes. From the DXF codes, I see that I can simply set code 41 to match code 42 in order to set the width. However, I cannot seem to figure out how the vertical dimension is defined. (entget) shows no change in the DXF codes after I resize the mtext box.

I do know how to figure out the height that I need, using (acet-geom-textbox), but I can't seem to figure out how to apply this height the MText entity.
