Is there a way to have multiple elvations on a single point?
Such as with a top & bottom of curb.
I have tried to add a component to the style, assign the name as the control, and put in the elevation
I want, but you can't have multiple points with the same name.
Sounds simple enough, but how would I subtract 2.300 from every point elevation?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two different point groups that I am using in my drawing. One is from a survey done a few years ago and the other is from one that I did just the other day.
I don't have a problem inserting the points or whatnot, but the issue I am having is that when I click "Datum" to adjust the elevations of my new point group (to make my benchmark 100.00'), Civil 3D alters all of my points; including the ones from the older survey. Is a way to adjust elevations to only one set of points.
We have conducted a 6" x 6" grid survey of a building's finished floor and the client has requested the output drawing of the point file survey to be shown in Millimeters. The Point Label style in Civil 3D 2009 only has the option to show Meters which isnt precise enough for the clients wants. I am using the metric template in autocad Civil 3D and all units are set to metric.
Is there a way to change you point label to show Millimeters?

I'd like to turn off the leader for individual points that have had a component dragged. For most points, I need the leader, but for others, it's just in the way. I'm beginning to think that I have to make a whole new label style in which the leader for dragged components is made invisible.

I'm working on a stream restoration project and we need to determine the x coordinates and corresponding elevations along a stream alignment at certain sample lines. The centerline of the stream's alignment has been created as well as sample lines for cross sections at 50' intervals. We need the coordinates & elevations of each sample line (cross section) exported into an excel/txt document.
For instance, at station 1+00 of the alignment we have a sample line. We need to know to the right and left along that sample line the corresponding elevations and that x coordinate) from the alignment. Primarily, whole contour intervals but more information would be useful as well. I was hoping this could be automatically generated.
I am trying to have a block scaled on import baised on the elevation of the point. I already use description key sets to scale blocks in import to parameters added to the code libary, for example; "Pole 0.31" draws a circle with a diameter of .31 meters.
Is there a way where I would be able to scale a block on import based on the elevation of the object? For example, a point's elevation is 1.7m, so on import it would scale a block by 1.7 on the x/y axis. Ideally if I were to modify the datum of the points the blocks would automatically scale, but that is more of a pipe dream.
We import the data from a trimble r8 rover and convert the file to a FBK file before importing the survey data.
Is it possible to break multiple lines at a single point without a gap along a perpendicular line??

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on three different projects at once. For each project, I was sent a drawing with contours as polylines. Each contour is broken up into polylines about fifty feet long each at elevation 0. I am trying to set the polylines to proper elevation without editing each one individually. Each drawing contains several hundred polylines to modify. I was hoping for some sort of way to use a fence and interval (2') with a starting elevation.
I've searched the internet but haven't found a lisp routine to do this. I thought I remember Land Desktop having something like this, but can't seem to find it in Civil 3D 2012. I have found several threads asking the same question. Each time the poster was referred to a blog 7629. That blog unfortunately seems to have been taken down. If I can’t find an answer soon, it looks that my best option would be to retrace each contour which makes me glad to be paid hourly.
I am trying to figure out how I can rotate many different circles (could really be any shape) aound a single point? For example, say I have 10 identically sized circles and want to rotate each one tangent to a single point every 36 degrees. Hopefully I am making sense and explaining the situation correctly. Is there a quick method using CorelDraw's tools/features to accomplish this task?

I tried deleting my current viewport, but it also deletes the rest of mine. How do I delete a viewport from only one paper space, so that it does not interrupt with my other drawings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a single street alignment that looks like an “n”. My issue is the west side of the “n” is named “Main Street” & the east side is named “First Ave” in the real world. Is there a way to have an alignment name from station 1+00 - 10+00 be different than 10+00 - 20+00 for automatic label purposes? I would rather not break the alignment since it one long continuous street & in some instances there is a vertical curve within the breakpoint. JUst need to figure out how to use automatic lables for naming street intersections.
Using C3D 2010 but curious on newer versions too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt is my understanding that C3D will only display the first point when there's more than 1 code for a survey point.
My first thought was to copy the line in the PENZD txt file and edit so that there's only 1 code listed. I tried appending the point number with "A" and ".1" without luck I assume I would need to use the next available point number.
An example of my txt file is:
17371,298429.877,568639.651,801.030,LPM SGN This produces only the light pole symbol and not the sign.

I have about 50 point groups that the client needs in an ENZ format, is it possible to export them all at once with the name of the point group being the name of the file?
if so, the more annoying part of this is that I actually have to make the ENZ file an ENZD file with the D being the name of the file for each point, if both of these things are possible
I am running into a problem where Civil 3D is creating multiple point groups of my 4 existing groups (the original group names are Topo, Existing Ground, Hide, and All Points). The new groups seem to be copies of the originals in terms of styles but do not include the points that were designated in the originals (no points are assigned in these copies).
The groups appear some time after I create the surface.
I've also noticed that this occurs in my list of grading criteria as well.
I need to scale up about 300 circles (manholes) but i need to hold the center point of each manhole. is there a command for this so i don't have to scale each individual circle?

View 12 Replies View RelatedAutocad2008 has the Break, Break at Point, and Dimension Break tools. There may be other variations of the break command, but I'm not able to fined a way to quickly use any of these commands to create a very simple single break point on a single segmented line at an unequal segment. I'm surprised Break at Point doesn't fit the billet.
Example:
I've drawn vertical line 10 units long. I would like to place a single break point at 7.956 units from either endpointe of that very same line. This is not a polyline. When selected it is depicted as a line with two equal segments.
The purpose of the break is so that I can intersect a horizontal line at 7.956 units located on the vertical line.
It seems to me that with all of the break tools available, one of them should be able to accomplish this simple task on the fly. Even most basic CAD programs such as Draft It, has a break tool that performs this function easily and quickly with one mouse click and one single text box entry.
Also, the fastest way I have found to accomplish this task is to simply draw another vertical line 7.956 units over the original vertical line, and that allows me to attach my horizontal line at 0 or 180 degrees from the vertical 7.956 units. I then go back and delete the second vertical line.

However, the mtext entity always moves position slightly (compared to the original text entity) after converting the object. better lisp that converts multiple text entities into mtext entities (which are all separate still, i.e. not joined together) without the position of the entity changing?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn C3D 2012, when I needed to know what elevation a surface contour was at, I simply hovered my mouse near the point in question and a small window would tell me what elevation my mouse was hovering at. Now, in 2013 I am trying to do the same thing but the little window only has the name of the surface and no elevations. So, how am I supposed to know surface elevations on the fly? Is there some setting to turn that back on?
