On occasion when on a layout tab and making a few changes in model space and I preview while model space is still active, crosshairs disappear when I exit preview. So I then save, close and reopen, it is then back to normal.

We have just installed ACA 2012 on one of our workstations and randomly the crosshairs will disapear in paperspace. We will still get the cursor icon if we hover over properties and paletts etc. We have the latest service pack and ribbon hotfix. Searching hasn't come up with much.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Inventor Product Design Suite 2012. When I try to exit Inventor 2012 it just hangs there indefinitely every time. I have to use task manager to shut down Inventor. It doesn't matter if I use Inventor during that session or not. It was installed with all default settings and most current patches installed. It was also installed with administrator privledges and UAC turned off. This ia a clean install on a new hard disk drive.
The AutoCAD products in the bundle will hang sometimes on exit if plotting was the last command in that session.

NVidia Quadro FX1800 Graphics Card
Windows 7 Professional with all current updates
All drivers are current
There are no anti virus software packages on this system. The hard drive still has 120 GB free space.
have the problem of the Tool Palette not staying docked when you shut down ACA 2012? I have to reload it every time.

We are running win7 64bit.
When working on an animation project our company has faced a strange problem. When switching from one network task to another 3dsmax is closed with an error, as shown in the screenshot. Since there are a lot of tasks, a number of such messages grows frightening.
Trying to get outside of a problem, we have tried all the combinations that came about. Backburner 2008 and 2012, 3dsmax 2012 with the service pack and without it, different versions of Vray, various workstations with Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1, to no avail. As it turned out, the problem is not in the network rendering, but in the file itself.
There were no problems noticed when working with the file, but when one closes 3dsmax, there’s an error message again. Even if we clear the scene from objects, materials, and settings completely - the error remains. But most of all we were surprised by the fact that the saved cleared scene weights 86016 bytes, but an absolutely empty scene, saved right after the program was opened, takes 73729 bytes.
why my crosshairs stutter after I select an object? I first noticed it after the AutoCAD release that added vertex control options to plines. Crosshairs hang for a second or two after selecting an object that has vertices. Seems like CAD is evaluating the vertices.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a large drawing with 5 meter contours that are 2D polylines on elevation. In Civil 3D 2012, when the crosshairs touch a polyline the drawing hangs for quite awhile. I've cut a piece out of the drawing so it is 28mb instead of 121mb and now the hang time is much less but it still does it. It does not happen in AutoCAD 2012.

How do I get rid of the green circles in cross section editor? I have looked in the code set styles, and I have found nothing that will resolve this.
View 2 Replies View Relatedon newer drawings ( amonth or two old) my crosshairs disappear in paper space (model space is fine)....but on older drawings (some are years old) the crosshairs works fine. neither the older or newer drawings were started by me so i can;t be sure of how they were set up, but (i think) it must have something to do with the way these newer dwgs were set up.
i was using C3D 2011 when the issu started and upgraded to C3D 2013 and i still have the issue. I've loaded the latest service pack but no change.

im having problems with max 2012 after hotfix 2 im working on some terrain and when i just move a tiny bit wireframe just go completely diseaper and its hard to model when you dont se wireframe everything was fine until hf2.
View 3 Replies View Relatedso user error is not unlikely, but I have a small animation with 11 small circles that animate opacity and Y pos. The circles are all symbols and are being controlled (play/stop) from the main timeline. When I preview, half of them do not show up. The symbols that don't appear are consistent from preview to preview. I've looked at the Elements in the browser and they are there, they just aren't animating.
So I thought I would just recreate the "bad" symbols and their animations, but they are still not animating in my preview. When I play the timeline in Edge Animate evrything is fine.
I've tried it in Chrome, Safari and Firefox (all latest releases) with the same result.
Is there a symbol bug in Edge? Is there a method of creating symbols that I should be using (other than draw, cmd-Y and edit symbol timeline)?
Out of the blue, my IV 2012 has decided to stop showing the preview when applying contraints. I have made no changes to any options or configurations. Preview check box is checked.
I tried unchecking and rechecking it to no avail. Any thoughts on this behavior ?
2nd out of the blue issue - when I insert a part into my assy (part file is in the same folder where the assy file is located) IV decides it needs to create a sub-folder and re-saves that part to the sub-folder. I mean, WTF ? The part file is already there. Why create another version of the part in a sub-folder. And why would it just start to do this out of the blue.
Again, I have made no changes to any configurations, options, settings, templates, etc...
running autocad 2012: there is an autopreview that shows what the command will look like before I hit return. How do I turn it off.
The issue is: I am overdrafting what Autocad is able to keep up with. I feel like I am now at half speed... I can replicate the same issue: offset x dimension; I move to left and hit enter; in the same instance autocad has autopreviewed right, and that becomes the command that sticks. really annoying... I have run ADT with bloated files on the same machine and not had this problem, so I figure its this feature that is causing the slowdown for me.
I've create drawing in model, after design I arrange it in layout tab. Once after finish, I want to print it but in print preview there are some lines show up direct to bottom right of paper. I look into drawing, there are not lines, I check there are no layer turn off

My Coworker has an issue with dimensions disappearing while she is working on completing her drawing. We have tried using Audit..did not work, we thought it was maybe the anno visible tab did not work. She thinks that she did nothing out of the ordinary while working on the drawing. See attached drawing. The drawing is after all but a couple dimensions have disapperaed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am drawing a pond levy. I draw the outline of the top of the fill, set that at the elevation I want, then grade it down to the existing surface on a 6:1. The grading works perfectly. The outline of the fill's footprint shows up just fine around the back of the fill, but the toe line doesn't show up all along the front side of the fill, but I still get the slope lines projecting down in the front.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe are using C3D 2013 and have recently had 3 different episodes where a dwg file was open and being worked in, CAD shut down without warning and the drawing was lost. As in, it's gone. No longer on the network anywhere. These were 3 different drawings in different projects.The drawings were not new, they had been previously created and worked in by more than one user. We were able to find a backup file and did not lose everything but still thinking there has to be something causing this. The machine is a Dell Precision T5600, 16 GB of RAM, only had it for a few months.

Over the past 6 months we have had the feature lines just up and disappear from the drawing for no reason. They were not erased. They just went away for some reason but the surface created from them was still there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of files with DS surfaces that I cut profiles with and all was fine until today. the surface ref is in the drawing but does not display. If I zoom to it goes to a location not related to the site but there is no display of the surface (all layers and style set to display) this is what view props shows. notice the odd serial number for the data source. through tools space I deleted the refs and re-refed and sampled, but when I close and go back its gone again.

I’m having some issues with my CAD. Every now and then, my contour lines disappear and I can’t get them to reappear. My surface border and triangles will appear but not the contours. Sometimes if I change surface styles they will appear but other times they are gone forever.

I'm trying to get a handle on what should and should not be expected to work as far as labeling XREF'd entities goes. I'm using 2011.
I have recently had bearing notes associated with an XREF'd line disappear, and I can't pinpoint the cause.
I had edited a couple of lines in said XREF'd drawing, but NOT the one that was associated with the C3D notes. There are two C3D drawings that XREF this drawing and that have line labels applied to the same, unchanged, line. Yet, all of those labels were gone (in both drawings) when I opened them this morning.
So, should labeling an XREF'd entity work? Are labels predictably lost when a labeled line undergoes a known set of modifications (Sinc relayed his experiences here: [URL] .....
What if the XREF'd drawing is simply saved, with no changes made to a labeled line? Should that be okay?
If labeling XREF's is known to be unpredictable, it sort of puts us back to manual text labels and manual curve tables. Is that really what people are having to do?
Using Civil 3D 2011, I have a topo drawing that's about 2 miles long. The points have styles to them to show the actual survey item such as manhole, trees, signs, etc. I have also created a point group called "no display" that I have added certain points to so they don't show up in the topo. While adding additional points to the "no display" point group, I have noticed that ALL the points but 3 have vanished from the drawing.We just installed the SP2.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Civil 3D 2012 coordinate systems normally displayed on the units and zone tab of the drawing settings have disappeared. On existing drawings the coordinate system code is still displayed. On new drawings the code appears as a symbol - a period or a comma or something. I can enter the coordinate system code and the program recognizes it.
My Civil 3D 2011 coordinate systems display as expected.
