I am labeling my pipe network structures and I was trying to create a label with a dynamic block. I want to have an octagon with text that I can change. So when I label INLET 1 I will have the information I need plus a symbol that corresponds to it.

I'm trying to create a pline in a dynamic block where the length is determined by two values I would input into properties or as attributes.
The first value 'A' will be a ground surface elevation
The second value 'B' will be a ground water elevation
I would like to the pline to have a length of A minus B.
I would then also like to have mtext (or any other method of display text) to display the values of A and B.
For example, if I have a ground surface of 102 and a ground water of 91, my line length will be 11, and I can display a label of '102' at the top of the line and '91' at the bottom of the line.
I've created dynamic blocks before, but none that have used an expression of two values or having to display inputted values. I'm not really sure where to start with this, or if it's even possible.
I need to create a dynamic block for a "Glass Panel" in a balustrade. I need to be able to insert it, in one corner and stretch it in another corner, to suit the staircase angle.
I've created the block, but it isn't working correctly. I've attached a drawing, with the left hand drawing a sketch of how it needs to be. The right hand drawing is my dynamic block attempt. As can be seen, when the block is stretched between the 2 points, it doesn't follow the angle of the staircase correctly (Very slight run off)

Then, I use command DAL; I can select dimension want use.
I am looking to create a dynamic block that changes in scale, ex. If I have two (2) viewports in paper space, one 1/4"=1'-0" the other 1/8"=1'-0" I want my blocks to appear to be the same size in paper space.
Also, I would like my blocks to change attributes/features ex. If I have a "light switch block" I would like to have the option of switching the block from a 3-way switch, 4-way switch etc.

The hole length and the "cross" point will be variable, between the two sticks will be 90 deg, and it will be FIX.
I would like if I change the "variable 2" distance the two sticks follow the cross point, and the top of the sticks stay in the same level, but between the sticks the 90 deg stay!

Here's what I have trouble with, I want to make the 2 "rectangles" in the fridge drawing stretch accordingly when I move the arrows for the compressor (the X).
But I want them to scale together and move so that they are still within the fridge part.
I tried a lot of Scales and Moves but I keep getting weird results.
I have the Dynamic Block here along with 3 examples of the fridges, what I'm trying to do.

Is there a way to create a library of walls using dynamic blocks (similar to the walls in the full version of autocadd)? I've payed around a bit trying to create a dynamic block and I'm not having much luck.

The last time I did this I drew a circle, put text inside, and attached a leader. Every time I wanted to label another instance of a material I had to copy all three things which was too repetitive. I think there is a way to create a dynamic block where all of these things are one block that can be selected and moved with one click but the leader is still adjustable.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've made annotative blocks and I've made dynamic blocks... My intent is to integrate both but I can't find a way to move dynamic block parameters separately at different annotative scales.
In other words, if I insert an annotative dimension and add multiple scales I can move the dimension grips independently at each scale. If I insert a dynamic block I want to be able to use the dynamic block's action "grips" to do the same. However, with a dynamic block, if I move a stretch action at one annotation scale it moves the action at all annotation scales.

I've been trying to create a stair block that will automatically adjust the riser height to to suit the total vertical rise of the flight, but am having issues.
I drew two 'tread/riser' Plines, and constrained the daylights out of them. By stretching the grip for the 'Total Rise' constraint, the risers adjust nicely, while the treads remain at their desired 11" depth.
My problem is that when I try to create an array of the tread/riser, (using a linear parameter aligned with the slope of the stair) I can't get the 'column' width to change as the risers change height. Instead the value remains constant, and the arrayed copies don't connect with each other.
Any way either to fix this so that that the copies connect 'head-to-tail'?
I try to create dynamic block of Tectus hinges. Bassicaly I would like create multiple visibility block:
first grip - type of hinge (TE240, TE 340....)
second grib - type of view: elevation, side and plan.
For plan view I would like create third grip with options: close, open 90 deg, open 180 deg.
In attached file I'm started working on this. For now I focus on first two type of hinges TS240 and TS340. I'm close to realize my gola but still something doesn't work correct. If you play with grips sometimes block disappear on show as custom view.
I believe there is a way to create a block of displayed objects that are shown within viewport. I know I have done this before with basic Autocad. The closest thing at the moment that I can think of is "SOLPROF" but that only works for 3D objects.
The way I remember the command working was you started off with the command, select the objects with the viewport/or maybe it was just the viewport, the command made an instantaneous block of the objects that were only within the display area.
I'm trying to create a dynamic block that stretches between a minimum and maximum height. The block I'm trying to create is an "Acrow Prop" which has a height that ranges between 1050-1830mm. Is there any way to set a function that will stop stretching out side of these figures?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have created a dynamic block with several visiblility states. The block works great for what I need it for. however, I am trying to add one more action to the block but am having issues.
This block is essentially a 24" retail cabinet with the visibility states showing the different drawer and shelf configurations. I want to be able to lengthen the cabinet in 24" increments and have the visibility show for each 24" section.....e.g. I want a 10' cabinet so I bring in the 24" starter block. Then stretch the cabinet to the 10' mark, then I can chose any drawer/shelve config for each 24" section (they are all different).
I can get the block to stretch in 24" sections....no problem.....i just want the visibility state to be duplicated as well for each section. Now as it stretches, there is only one Vis state and it only populates the first cabinet.
I could do this by copying the block over and over 5 times.....but I am hoping there is a way to make this dynamic.
I have a block I am making into a Dynamic Block. I will be adding in different visibility states. Depending on the visibility state the block would need to be inserted from a different point.
My question is, is it possible to add multiple insertion points to a dynamic block so depending on the visibility state it defaults to the correct insertion point?
Is it possible to create C3D labels that are non-associative? That is, they do not adjust font size, etc., with changes in viewport scale.

I've created my first dynamic blocks...but when i insert them into my dwg they are way off in space. i've tried selecting a base point in the library file. and i've tried using INSBASE 0,0,0 but no luck. my dyn block is made up of several individual blocks.

I would like to create an dynamic block to a level symbol, with a parameter that aligns the length of the line under the text with the text end.

I thing the key element is to create an point that is attached to the end of the text and apply an stretch to it, but I didn't succeed.
I am currently creating a series of dynamic blocks in order to create tabletop conveyors fro plat layout. I am using AutoCAD 2009 and am currently having issues making the turning sections. I know this is very simple using AutoCAD 2010 as there are geometric constrains available.
The curved sections must be able to have the inside thickness adaptable, the wall thickness must remain 1/2" thick, and the corner sections must have a 30, 45, 60 and 90 degree radii on them (although allowing any angle would be ideal). I was going to use visibility states to achieve the different angles as this seemed the easiest way to do this.
Attached is the basic 90 degree corner with an inside width of 4.5" with leaders labeling the areas that must be adaptive.
I have a drawing with contours every 1m and according to the area that I have to display in my layouts I have to display contours either 2m, 5m or 10m.
How is possible to create labels for only this elevations and if it is possible, create several labels along one of these contour with specific interval.
Taking existing blocks and converting them to dynamic blocks.? This will save a lot of time.
If this is not possible to do then where the instructions are for creating dynamic block in version 2012.
I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. I am thinking that this may not be possible at this point but I am still going to try. I have an alignment label style for station and offset. I also have created a dynamic block for the border of this label to put around that label. This call out border is not a typical single width border so the borders within the alignment style do not match and cannot be used for our designs. I have attached an image of the border around the label style for a random alignment. So far the dynamic block has been a great fix for the border so that we dont spend a lot of time drawing in these borders for each label, but I was trying to add this dynamic block to the label style so that it would act as the border.
So far I have tried adding the block as a component in the layout tab of the label style but it appears where I anchor it and does not access any of the dynamic attributes to make the callout box larger in reference to the text. I know I can insert it so that in general it will be surrounding the Station, Offset, and Alignment contents, however, we frequently add additional text to our labels to callout pipe bends and other items so the box is not typically the same size.
How I might be able to do this or if it is not possible at this time?
Drawing disappear after using a dynamic block's stretch parameter?
I’ve made fairly simple dynamic blocks with lines or leaders that can be stretched and some attribute text. After moving the stretch grip of the block the block will disappear. If I then do a regen the entire drawing disappears. But it seems to be only a graphical glitch based on the fact that I can then save the disappeared drawing, reopen it and everything is up to date. I can even see my devious little dynamic blocks. But of course if I try to edit them everything will disappear again.
