View 2 RepliesWe are trying to edit a small portion of an existing corridor by adding a generic daylighting subassembly. The add subassembly tool in the Corridor Section editor works, but we get an error because the new sub doesn't have a target surface specified. how to add a target for a sub that is added after the corridor was created?

I am working on implementing Chad Studer's techniques from his presentation at Autodesk University for corridors with conditional subassemblies at the driveways. Basically I created a corridor with two driveways for a test run. When I select the corridor and look at the object viewer, there are several lines going to who knows where at both driveways. But a look at the properties of the finished grade surface generated doesn't show anything out of the ordinary. I had the conditional subassembly look for a polyline on layer "driveway." It appears that there may be a gap in the corridor at each end of the pollyline. I've attached the drawing file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created a new assembly that uses a HMA dike rather than your typical curb but my surface always begins at the top of the HMA pavement rather than the top of the curb subassembly. See Picture. Where's the setting to fix this (is it a daylight setting) or it is a bigger problem in that I didn't create the subassembly or assembly correct to begin with?

Anyway, I'm trying to build a corridor that targets the existing surface with a linkslopetosurface sub. It works just like I want it to, but there are areas where I want to override the target and have it target an existing curb return alignment. Is there a better sub I should be using that will target one first and then a second if the first doesn't work right?
Also, with my corridor section editor, can I adjust the vertical scale to be exagerated? It's really tough to edit the 1:1 ver./hor. scale.
I'm using the Ditch subassembly in my corridor and am running into a problem when using realistic mode to view.
I've applied a render material to L3, L2 and L4 which is fine but when I assign a material to L1-L5 (i.e Top) it overdraws (or otherwise fails to display) the previously assigned materials for L2, L3 and L4.
If I set the Links L1-L5 (i.e. Top) to no display then L2, L3 and L4 display as expected but when IMX'd to Infraworks the existing terrain shows through at Links L1 and L5.
Is it possible to stop this from happening and have a seperate material for L1 and L5 whilst retaining L2,L3 & L5 materials?

I'm not having any luck on my own. Can I use subassemblies that I create in subassembly composer to make an intersection using the "CreateIntersection" command?
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently installed 2012 on new computer. Single license user. Open tool pallet and no sub assemblies, only symbols and such. I am able to view a long list of sub assemblies, but cannot get them to the tool pallet. Have tried drag and drop with no success.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am just having some difficulties using the standard UKIE subassemblies where the carriageway is not showing the parameters correct. See the drawing attached. Eg:
1) The properties does not show the side correctly it has a zero value (not much of a issue as i can use the mirror command) (drawing subassembly)
2) I am unable to choose any superelevation on the subassembly . Now this is what causing me problems.
I have already re-installed the software from scratch and have also downladed the latest service pack.
I have a corridor with the two daylight points marked as BOUL BOUR.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created an assembly using BasicLaneTransition. When I apply it to my corridor I am not getting a feature line at the crown (center) of the road. I have used this subassembly on several other projects and have not had this issue. The only difference I can think of is that the other projects we started in C3D 2009 and this one is in 2012.
How do I get my feature line to show without adding a marked point?

I am building sub-assemblies using Sub-assembly composer. The out I get is PKT files. I generally import them and place them in tool palette.
1. Now how to do create deployment package like a setup file where the user can install and restart to find working toolpallete.
2. Also how do I create road cross sections using Sub-assemblies and them as an entry in tool palette. when the user click and create c/s.
I created a new version of DaylightBench subassembly with a different class library application on .net for c3d 2009.
I added the tool data to C3D Metric Transportation Subassembly Catalog.atc. Tool is listed on Subassembly catalog and i can copy-paste the tool to Tool palette.
But on tool palette when i try to drag it to drawing it gives the error "tool is not registered". error msg is attached.
can it be about the resource fileds on ATC file eg: resource="1302" or the new GUID values?
When I use ImportSubassembly API to import my subassembly created by Autodesk Subassembly Composer into my civil project, it reports error-"eFilerError".
the code like this:
atcFile = @"D:9f92eaa4ef514ac982518852e1169932.atc";
itemId = "ab660722-c69d-4ade-b373-0e9f99c94e55";
SubassemblyCollection subassemblyCollection = cDoc.SubassemblyCollection;
ObjectId subassemblyId = subassemblyCollection.ImportSubassembly("TestSubassembly", atcFile, itemId, this.doc.Editor.GetPoint("Select import subAssembly location").Value);
However, it is OK if to import subassembly provided by Cilvil 3D.
My company have decided to use plain autocad as the base instead of Civil3D. Since this been done im missing information in the properties pallet.
The information im interested is shown in attachment properties 1 (This is from Civil3d). In the properties pallet in plain autocad this information is missing se attachment Properties 2 (From plain autocad).
Is there any way to reach this information in plain autocad. This is in autocad 2014.
I have created a surface from a corridor. I set the boundary of the surface to the daylight of the corridor. In some areas of the corridor the surface does not triangulate see attached.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCopy a corridor successfully? I'd like to try this just a little worried about the explosion of evil this may cause to my Civil 3D session.
Even all the properties of the corridor setup from one to another would be useful. I'm building one corridor and an 2nd one that matches everything except I need to replace my Assembly with one meant for stripping.
My corridor surface is not matching my corridor top links. see attachments. this is affecting my volumes!
The section-plan(surface red).png is showing the section editor and the plan view. the red highlighted line in section is the corridor surface and as you can see in plan view the surface is incorrect and wiggly.
The pdf is all my sections with the red linework being the corridor surface.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using ACA 2008 and recently had to have some things reconfigured on my computer by our IT guy because of a few problems. Because of that, I've had to fix a couple of things with my settings in ACA to get it back to what I had before.
One thing that changed that I can't seem to fix is a custom catalog for my tool pallet we have always used that wont come up with my standard ACA pallets when I start up ACA. I have to hit cntrl+4 to bring up the catalog library and from there I can see the one I want to use. I grab the eyedropper and drag it to the tool pallets and it works fine, but when I close out ACA and restart it's gone again.
How can I get it to stick permanently?
I created a file with all the blocks that I use of horn/strobes and strobes only for fire alarm systems and made a tool pallet. I've had to edit and tweak them until they fit my needs but now when I opened autocad my tool pallet was gone so I made another one but now my blocks are not the new revised blocks but the old ones. I double checked the path for the file and it's correct. When I open the file containing the blocks they look and behave like the blocks I revised.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time I attempt to insert a block with an attribute in it from my tool pallet I get the error FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Acess Violation Reading 0x0020 Exception at 4260af08u.
If I insert a block without attributes it works fine. I even tried building a block in 2013 and then inserting it from the toolpallet, still fatal error's out.
Noticed that the Dynamic Blocks in the Annotation Tool Palette are missing? Let me rephrase that, in the Tool palette they show up, but the dwg's that they reference are missing. I have 4 users that are currently testing Civil 3D 2013 and all of them are missing the files.
I'm sure I could copy them from 2012, but still.
I have problem with attached block (also with other similar blocks with field). This block include field in block attribute. Works fine if I copy and paste this block. When I drag and drop from Tool Pallete field disappeary.

View 3 Replies View Related(in Inventor Pro 2014,64 bit):
I've made an stairs assembly that contains adaptive parts that are all controlled by the assembly parameters.
Here is my assembly and the controlling parameters. The stringers on the side are made with the frame generator and use the "extend" feature to get the appropriate length, as driven by the parameters. The reason I used frame generator is so that I can easily change sizes of the stringers down the road, if needed. I chose to make the parts associative so I could control all of the parameters from within the assembly instead of opening each part separately.
My goal now is to be able to use this assembly (or something similar) as a template to create new sets of stairs, all to be placed in the same main assembly.
I attempted to duplicate all of the parts (append a "2" at the end of each file name and replace components in the new set of stairs with the 2nd version) but ran into problems with the two stringers. I can't figure out what to do to get the Frame00001 and Skeleton00001 to reassociate to Frame00002 and Skeleton00002. So any time I change my slope, the original stairs will end up trying to copy the new stringers instead of keeping the old ones.
how can I make this assembly reference a new frame, and secondly?
How can I create a subassembly..AND hot to add a Pave 3 option or another subbase depth.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to transition to one subassebly to another. The first subassembly is at existing ground the other assembly is above ground. See following picture:
I need to transition from station 12+50 to 13+50. See following picture:

Do I need to make a different subassembly in between the two stations? Is there a command I am not seeing that does it for me?
