Nov 16, 2012The contour lines themselves are in model space. The contour texts are in paper space. How do I make the line hide under the text?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contour Label Line
May 31, 2013I have been creating contour surface labels, which utilize a 3-point contour label line with grips to adjust, and this is my question:
when i create a single contour label, clicking specifically on a contour i want labeled, the contour label line with the 3-grips extends beyond several contours and thus places a label at every contour it touches. i can manually fix this by shorting the line, but this seems very inefficient.
1. is there a setting to have the label only placed on the center grip of the three?

Jan 23, 2013I have my existing surface data referenced into my production drawing. I am trying to label the existing surface contour lines in the production drawing. I only have one surface in this drawing right now, so, I don't believe this is a multiple surface issue.
When I try to add single and multiple contour labels to the existing surface, I cannot select a contour line. I try to click on a contour line, using osnap, and I just keep getting prompted to pick a contour line.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Displaying Stacked Text (Fractions) In Label Texts?
Feb 22, 2013I'm trying to use diagnol fractions in my label text for 1/2 and 1/4 deltas. It displays and seems to work fine in Autocad, but when I plot, the numbers have trouble displaying themselves.
I'm using a light color from our .ctb, so I thought that was the problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case (I tried two heavier lineweights and it only got worse). Increasing the percentage size of the fraction also has no effect.

Jul 24, 2012Is it possible to weed contour lines displayed in a surface based on the slope? I am having an issue plotting construction plans due to steep cut slopes and flat adjacent areas. I have several cuts ranging from 33%-50% adjacent to flat areas around 1%. Due to the drawing scale required by the client and the .2FT and 1FT contours required to detail the flat areas, my steep cuts appear as dark hatches due to the tight contour lines.

Apr 24, 2012It happens during many different commands. The command itself doesn't seem to affect this problem. It doesn't always happen, but every so often, as I'm in the middle of a command, when I scroll past a contour line the program freezes. Sometimes it comes back to life after a few seconds of thinking, but sometimes it just sits there non-responsive forever.
Possible ideas:
-Contour Labels set to "Mask Contour Line Only"
-Dynamic Inputs on
-Selection Preview is on (but it's disabled for "When a command is active")
-Surface is shortcutted into the drawing
-Contours are from an XREF

Oct 24, 2013I have this contour lines from dwg file (see attached) and I am trying to make a surface out of it. Initially i thought it is already a surface for C3D but i cant seem to follow tutorials. While browsing for solutions from the Internet, it seems it is not even a contour file that can be added in C3D. what is this file and how i can convert it into a surface in C3D?

Jan 7, 2013I am trying to make my contour labels visible, indepently of the Visible status of the contours in the surface style of the original surface that I am working on. I have to do this due the final topo looks strange in the borders so I am displaying another contours -that do not have elevation- and make look the drawing better. The problem is that if I turn off the Visible property of the contours, the labels turn off even that they were created in a different layer and attached to a label style with its own layer property.

They aren't exploding into single line text because it won't let me use the convert command to turn them into multiline because they are already multiline.

May 22, 2012As Topic explains, just realized ( to my embarrasment ) that I have just done every text in an entire drawing with text style "standard" instead of our own "ETR".
There is no difference in font/height/width or anything, reason I need to change it is because we need to send our drawing to our client in .dwg format and he will then copy everything we've done on the drawing and import it into his own drawing. Problem is if he doesn't use the same font as standard style as we do our text might be dislocated in some places.
Problem is many of my texts are attributes within blocks and they need to change too. Any quick and smart way to change every text and attribute on the drawing, nested or not to another textstyle?

Apr 13, 2012I have some Line Labels that got exploded, and they contained Background Masks.
When I make a plot, the mask plots a dark rectangle.
How can I make the masks visible so that they can be erased? Is there a variable for that? What type of entity (name?)are they?
When I make "wipeouts" visible, you still can not see the masks.

Jun 6, 2012In Civil 3d 2013, my points appear as follows with Point # on top, elevation in the middle and description at the bottom.
But when I drag the label, it changes the order of the labels to Description on top, point # in the middle and elevation at the bottom.
How do I make the dragged state labels appear in the same order as the first picture?
Also, how can I keep the colors from picture #1 (red, yellow, green) into the dragged state labels as well?

Every time I type something, when it reaches the end of the text box it continues at the beginning of the same line, rather than beginning below the sentence. So rather than typinga paragraph, I type a sentence that has layers of words.
