I have a laptop running LR 3.6 and want to try 4.4 to determine whether the laptop is man enough for the job. It's a Core 2 Duo T6400 2.0Ghz with 4Gb RAM and Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
If I install the trial version of 4.4 how do I make sure it doesn't mess up my 3.6 catologue, so that I can go back to it, if I'm not happy with the trial?
I want to try 4.4 against my full cataloque to make sure that I'm doing a proper performance test.
Or is there no fast forward or fast rewind in the timeline. Like double tapping the "L" key or something in other programs...
Editor of things...
If there's a conflict between the UI for teh AutoCAD drawing window and Parallels? There seems to be a consistent change in mouse behavior when the mouse moves to the AutoCAD drawing window when running AutoCAD ('11, '12, '13, '14) under Parallels (5, 6, & 7).
Since Parallels is now officially supported.
i am wanting to use the apprentice server in another program. The apprentice server is 'normally' found in the registry under this key:
ComputerHKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSIDC343ED84-A129-11d3-B799-0060B0F159EF
The problem is, that if you uninstall all things autodesk, and run a registry cleaner (or delete that key by hand), and then install only inventor view 2013 and run inventor view 2013, it will *not* create that key in the registry.
This makes it impossible to run the apprentice thru the COM mechanism, even your SDK samples will not work.
(i suspect (but havent proved), the bigger problem is on a brand new machine, install and run only inventor view 2013 , you still can't use the apprentice server.)
The 'workaround' is to install and run inventor view 2012. running inventor view 2012 will create the registry key. After that, running inventor view 2013 will happily update the key's value to the appropriate place.
(C:Program FilesAutodeskInventor View 2013BinRxApprenticeServer.dll)
so try this :
1) run regedit and delete the key and all its subkeys
ComputerHKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSIDC343ED84-A129-11d3-B799-0060B0F159EF
2) optionally install inventor view 2013 ('as administrator' or not doesnt matter).
2) run inventor view 2013 ('as administrator' or not doesnt matter). exit it
3) run regedit. the key is not there still. you won't be able to run any SDK samples or get an apprentice server using the following 'basic'
Set ApprenticeServer = New ApprenticeServerComponent
i'm on windows7, x64. (iv2013 is: build 126, Release: 2013 RTM)
is a bug in 'inventor view 2013', or is that intended for some strange reason?
I am having a problem with Inventor 2013. Every time I run/edit then run an iLogic rule my Inventor crashes. I have sent the report in to autodesk, but I need a fix for now.
I have tried a soft reboot, hard reboot, only opening inventor while no other programs are running, disconnection from the internet, etc.
im currently using Autocad 2013 and it is running painfully slow when drawing lines and copying lines and objects... my experience on autocad is very minimal and how to speed things up a bit. also icons appear next to lines when i join 2 or more line, one for each join, but i suspect they may also be causing my drawing to lag.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to run force analysis on my part in Inventor? I have used the force analysis before, but never for something so complex in shape. My main issues are constraining the base of the part and applying forces. I tried thickening sections of the part in order to apply a force/constraint, but now Inventor won't recognize the thickened parts as connected to the main body.
On a side note, it won't let me attach my file, which is 122 MB. Is it too large?
AutoCad sticking on commands like copy selection and move tool, It is running very slow and when saving it says there is no system memory, although my Computer has pleanty of memory (the local disk has over 200GB space)
PC has correct specification for AutoCad 13, and I have never had problems until this morning-
I have ACA 2013 (student version) running in the Windows 8 environment. I cannot open anything drawn in a previous release nor can I open a drawing created in ACA 2013 that was installed on the Windows 7 platform.
I have tried to drag in the drawings through design center. That worked for a while now when I try that it causes ACA to crash. Also I have tried multiple drawings that were created in several different versions of ACA. (2004, 2006 and 2009)
As a side note I was able to open those files in ACA 2013 running on the Windows 7 OS.
How to turn of the "lock symbol" from showing when you run your crosshairs (outside of a command) over a locked layer. Its annoying and i would like to turn it off.
Also, when offsetting a line, is there a way to turn off the imaginary offset line that indicates the offset side, again its annoying and i'd like to turn it off.
BackBurner stopped working for me when 3DS Max 2012 came out so my work around was simply opening multiple instances meaning I'd have one "Max" rendering a scene while I worked in another "Max" while at night, having 2-3 simultaneous instances of 2012 rendering out animations. This really came in handy for doing multiple projects at the same time between render scene passes.
I can run 3 stable 3DS Max 2012 on the same machine without a problem, I can even run 1 x 3DS Max 2013 and 3 instances of 2012 at the same time BUT I'm unable to run more than one instance of 2013... it boots-up 2013 but then just hangs and doesn't do anything. I tried using BackBurner but it doesn't work so basically, it seems like I'm stuck running only one instance of 2013 at a time.
Is there a setting somewhere I can enable multiple instances again? I did take a look at Deadline but they don't support 2013 yet.
After installing the VBA Module, I get the message "Unknown command "VBARUN"". I've rebooted, restarted and tried reinstalling the VBA Module to no avail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOur company has lots of drawings/part-numbers that have anywhere from 2-9 sheets. These are all saved as individual .dwg files. I am looking to Xref the "extra" files in one main file and make layouts of those Xrefs for ease of plotting.
As we only have LT, we obviosly can't use the "Sheet Set Manager", and this is the best way I know how to do this. Is there a fast way of creating layouts (other than right clicking and selecting "Page Setup Manager"?
Or maybe I should say it this way: What do you thing is the best way of going about this venture.
I'd like to have a fast method to apply "something" to view my drawings labels and points (by now) with different styles depending of my needs. I'd want to view my "station points " with a green circle near the station number, but In other "work scene" maybe I want to see nothing more a one pixel point, or I dont want to have my work space full of numbers....
I'd want to have a dropdown menu to customize how I'd want to view my cartography. The same I'd need to layouts. Is it possible to say this layout plots this symbol in this way and this another plots it using another style? ( and if possible to have a global way to do this with a whole set of styles)
Also... Is there any way to apply this when use a xref ? That is to say: is it possible to get my main drawing have control over its xrefs ? I'd want to have a way to view this xrefs in different ways...also a way to override layers properties from the main drawing.
For example - I have to do this:
Open one *.idw file press ctrl+p, set A4 or A3 and then click "ok" button and "save" button (using PDF Creator)
Next step is same - open another *.idw file and save it as pdf, but another *.idw file can have 2 sheets, so I have to open second sheet and do it same thing.
So i have for example
workfolder/part-123.idw
workfolder/part-123.pdf
and i need do this for every *.idw file (including their sheets). So its really long time and i dont have time.
Is there a simple way that would allow - for example to open a folder and convert it all in idw files to PDF automatically ?
We've upgraded to 2012 and have noticed a problem when fast clicking on the mouse when using commands.
For example when using the erase command I would usually type E and then quickly right click and left click. However in 2012 it brings up random command instead of erase i.e. sheetset, publish, ucs etc..Bringing up the text window afterwards it shows
Command: e
ERASE
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: *Cancel*
0 found
Select objects: *Cancel*
Command: _PointCloudIndex
The right click and left click are only processed once. This happens on all commands typed on the command line not just erase
I'm just wondering is there a possibility to select all closed profiles from a sketch to make an extrusion or revolve with a shortkey instead doing that manually with the mouse for each profile? Something like CTRL+A

View 9 Replies View RelatedIve been using 3DS Max for about 3 hours now, and seem to be picking up on it very quickly (Props to everyone involved for user friendliness). Im just puzzled about one thing. In my perspective viewport, panning and zooming happen realy fast, zooming close is impossible, as it zooms through and past the object with one scroll-notch. All zooming in other viewports are just fine, its only perspective that I'm having an issue with.

I saw a video of some guy making a texture for a 3d model in photoshop and time to time he switched to a window where he could see and manipulate the 3d model with the unfinished texture and no, he didn't save the project and apply it everytime. I was wondering if that was a plug-in or something like that.

There will be like 20 of them loaded in the WEB at the same time. which kind of compression I should pick when I save as a PNG: "None/Fast" or "Smallest/Slow", and "Interlaced" or notMy main concern is that the WEB page should load them the fastest possible.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using VS 11.5 Plus for several years with no problem. Recently, I received a new camcorder, a Sony HDR-CX305 which produces .MTS files. I can open the files with VLC and Windows Media Player. For editing in VS, I chose to use proxy files. When I put the files on the timeline and play them in project mode, everything is fine (display & sound). But in clip mode, the clip is played really fast, less than 1 second, which makes difficult the editing.. I tried with smart proxy disabled : same problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new camera which records in AVCHD format. I have transferred the video files from my camera to the computer. I have compiled a project on Video Studio ProX2. When I playback each clip they play at normal speed. When I playback the project before copying onto a disc the playback is very fast. I have also got as far as sharing the project onto a disc but when I click on preview the playback is again very fast. I see that I can slow down the playback but this also slows down any speech on the video.
I have used Video studio PRox for a couple of years now with great success with an old Sony Handycam but I must need to do something to the new format to play it back at normal speed.
I have some images lots of them(like over 200) and I want the fastest easiest way to remove the background and keep the look of the text(ie nothing gets lost from it).
I am going to save them as transparent gifs but like I said I don't know how to do them very fast.
They all are black on white:
I rcently installed PS CS on my Dell Inspiron 8500 notebook, a P4 2.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 64Mb GeForce 4 4200 (15.4" WUXGA+ 1680x1050), Hitachi 60GB 7,200rpm disk, DVD+RW and it so unbelievably slow. I cannot even do a simple Elliptical Marquee without having to wait ages (a lot of disk I/O activity). The settings of CS are at default. It's completely put me off this software-am I missing something here?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have recently brought a new computer (very powerful) for the things i want to do, as i am also posting this you can tell i make alot of videos as well.
Here are my computer specs:
intel core i7 quad core 3.70ghz
16gb beast ram 2400mhz
4gb amd radeon r9 290 graphics card
asus SSD writes @ 830mb/rs
At the moment i am exporting a video which is 1hour and 20 minutes long and have manged to get the export time down to 30-40minutes
I have always been trying to figuring out how to get faster exporting times for a long time now, is it dependant on the sequance settings as well?
I am buying a laptop for AE for mobile reasons.does the fast preview(so the instant result after changing an effect value you get in the preview window) depend on gpu or cpu, or both depending on what effects are used? I am looking at a 670mx for cuda, but 7970m for dominant opengl scores.
Will these 2 gpu's give me different performances regarding fast preview,or is looking into different gpu's not a worthy question yet due to After effects mostly being a cpu heavy program? Now i know all that ray tracing acceleration and how nvidia cards are necessary for that, but this is regarding fast preview only.
