AutoCAD 2013 :: Converting Drawing To Basic Level?
Mar 19, 2013
is there a simple way of converting a drawing from a complex draiwng including blocks/dynamic blocks so that it becomes effectively a dumb drawing of lines arcs and text.
the only solution i have is to convert the drawing to a pdf then convert it back to a dwg using a pdf to dwg converter.
the reason being i dont want my client to work out how i construct my drawings.
I have a new machine that locks up when doing basic tasks. Things such as pedit, switching tabs, undo. I am beginning to think that it is hardware related because the same drawing work perfectly fine in older machines
Xeon E3-1240 16GB RAM MSI Z77A-G41 LGA 1155 MB Samsung Pro SSD 256GB AMD FirePro W5000 Video Card
This is the first build with a SSD and this Video Card. I have the AMD V4900 in two other machines and they seem to be adequate but wanted a better card for this build.
How do I solve this problem I cannot join basic lines to make a closed polyline as they will not join together. So i tried to use the flatten command which does not work and out puts error below:-
Command Prompt Input/ouput
Command: FLATTEN Select objects to convert to 2d...8 found Remove hidden lines? <No>: A vertex was added to a 2D pline (0) which had only one vertex. A vertex was added to a 2D pline (0) which had only one vertex. A vertex was added to a 2D pline (0) which had only one vertex. A vertex was added to a 2D pline (0) which had only one vertex. When I collect objects into, say, a drawing of a bicycle, I can do this with grouping or by creating a block (and I don't know what else). If one of the objects in the bicycle collection is itself a collection of objects--for example, a "front wheel" made up of tire, wheel frame, and spokes objects--what "grouping" method do I use such that when I explode the bicycle it only explodes the first level of objects--the objects that made up the bicycle become separate objects, but the objects that make up the front wheel stay collected as a "front wheel." (Or, is there a less deep form of explode?) Blocking the most detailed objects seems burdensome.
What level of the ACIS file is acceptable to 2013?
Any converter to change the ACIS level of a file so the wonderuos, up to the minute, top of the line, supercalifragilistic 2013, can import an ACIS file without being a pain in the butt?
I have conducted a level survey on site and once I have loaded it in to aurtocad I need to copy them on to a drawing so can tell where abouts the level are in relation to the site. When I have done this I copy with base point and paste with coordinates but it comes up tiny compared to the drawing.
I'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:
1. I added the references Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common to the Visual Basic Project. That's OK.
Dim acadApp As New AcadApplication 'Create an instance of an AutoCAD Application AcadApp.Application.Visible = True 'Show the instance of the AutoCAD Application Dim acadDoc As AcadDocument 'Create an intance of an AutoCAD Document acadDoc = acadApp.Documents.Open("C:Respaldo TesisDibujo2.dwg") 'Open a Document called Dibujo 2 'Draw a line Dim PT1(2) As Double [code].....
Looking for converting DRW files to DWG? I have inherited a library of CAD files at work. Unfortunately, they are all DRW and I only have AutoCAD at my disposal. I need to convert these files to a form that AutoCAD can use.
I have a company logo that is a jpeg, I can insert it in a title block but when i print the drawing in black and white it is a blur due to the dark colors in the logo. Is there a way to convert it to a drawing so I can adjust colors/size to plot properly?
I have a autocad drawing that was clearly made from a 3D model. I cannot get the 3D file sent me. I was wonder how can I convert this drawing to a 3D file. Is anyway I can take the isometric view in the corner of the autocad drawing that i currently have and convert it to a 3D model.
I am having an issue with a 3D drawing (xref) with size very large and crashing due to lack of memory. I want to compress it into a 2D layout. How do I compress a 3D drawing into a 2D drawing or something much smaller than the 47 MB it is now?
I created a drawing for a label in AutoCAD. The labels are made on an etching machine that we have and apparently the machine only accepts files in the BMP format. When I convert my drawing to a bitmap (export command), the images that I have in the label drawing (logos etc..) show up in the bitmap with borders around the images. I had set "imageframe" to 1 so I could select them when exporting the drawing. Another on of the images only has the border come in but nothing inside of the border?
If I use the CAD 'Plot Stamp' while converting a drawing to a PDF file (DWG to PDF), everything works as it should.
If I try to print it out on paper, it doesn’t work at all, even though it looks ok in the preview (however, if while in the preview, I try to zoom in on the Plot Stamp to see what's actually written, it disappears). Instead of being 'BR vertical' it's 'BR horizontal', It prints mostly out of the printable area and the text is a smaller size than specified.
What's the best way to get a high quality PDF from a DWG?We find the quality from the 'DWG to PDF' printer to be a bit disappointing. If we 'Publish to PDF' from a 'Sheet Set', it's a bit better...
After converting all my mtext in a drawing to Arial it has dramatically slowed down the drawing text dynamics, if i move any text on the drawing the lag is unreal, if i copy any text it takes 10 seconds to appear
I am using Gimp 2.8.0 but only understand about 5% or less of it. (It is running on Win.7 Hm. Prm., Vsn 6.1, Sp-1.)
How can I define or adjust the pencil tool so it draws at the one pixel size in a new ".gif" work area. (That would be one pixel in the image to one pixel on the screen.) I found how to define the work area in pixels for a ".gif". The predefined pencil tool sizes (chosen by assorted dots) "went away" several versions of Gimp back as far as I know.
The object of this effort is to produce "TrainGifs" for use in other applications. Should you be interested just Google "TrainGifs" and you will be able to check out multiple site for this hobby.
How to avoid the overlap between the level sign and the drawing?
I’m wondering concerning the default behavior of the Revit regarding the level signs. In the screenshot below, a wall of 9 meters is drafted in the indicated location while its 4 elevations are displayed next to it.
the north elevation has an overlap with the level signs and also the south elevation is at the end of the level signs. how to manage this problem and also based on what these levels are set this way (by design). How the overlap might be avoided?
I've been trying to convert 3D dwg models to 3D dgn models without success, using AutoCAD 2012.
The DGN either displays the solid, which isn't visible in a Microstation extraction or it just exports the centrelines/linework and not the solids.
Is this possible in newer version ? i.e. 2013/2014.
I've tried the export to ACIS .sat file and that works fine, but it moves everything to the same lavel/layer which defeats to object of seperatng the items in the first place.
I am trying to convert my AutoCAD inventor 2013 file to a standard 2007 file by going "Save As" "Save Copy As" and then "Autocad DWG File" but i keep getting up a message "problems encountered while saving the document" How do i repair this?
i have a drawing from a client that is in metric and i need to print the drawings in inches in 1:1 for my boss. i should know this but it seems to be a bigger problem than i thought.
I just finished a project without using any coordinate system (it shows none), and now i need it to be in ll84 coordinate system. Is there a way to convert it? When i try to do it, the streets go to a random location (in a random longitude and latitude), and even if i move it to the right place it doesnt work, because the scale of the drawing doesnt seem to be right, and i cant manage to fix it.
I am working on my company template. We are trying to keep it as close to INDOT standards as we can. Indot uses microstation and provides many files for microstation users. I converted one of the files to a .DWG and impoted all the linetypes to my template. This had a lot of bad side effects.
How to extract the actual code for the Linetypes, so that i can simply re-write a code as autocad wants it and then import?
I am trying to convert a 2013 ACAD file to ACAD 2010LT but some objects are not viewable in the converted file. I used DWG Truview to convert the 2013 file to 2010LT.
I have a query as to how I could automate the replacing of selected individual lines with predetermined sized rectangular blocks centered on the line at the angle and on the “0” layer . See attached file:
The rectangle need not necessarily be a polyline, 4 single lines would be sufficient. And whether the original line is or is not replaced is unimportant either.
I need to find out how to import/ convert a real hand drawn sketch into a .dwg or .dxf format so it can be used on a CNC machine to cut the pattern out of a 6mm sheet of aluminium
I installed a brand new install of 2013 Product Design Suite Premium on a new machine. When I go to run Inventor everything seems to work fine. I make a drawing of a part and export to DWG. That's a requirement here. When I go to open the file in AutoCAD, the hatch pattern doesn't show and it looks like the boundaries for the hatch move to 0,0,0. Very stange and I haven't been able to figure this out. I installed Premium on another machine and performed the same export. Works fine on the other machine. The other machine however, has 2012 installed as well. Could this simply be a bad install?
