How to get columns working in a multi line attribute.
I changed system variable ATTIPE (attribute in place editor) to 1 which added the extra formatting options but the columns button is greyed out. As a work around I just use tab stops but columns would be better if possible.
When I manually enter the attribute, it comes up with 3 different data entry options but when I look at the attribute in .NET it shows IsMTextAttribute = FALSE.
What is the best way to set the multiline block attribute?
we have several columns of multiline text and draw a line to the left of each column. problem is when the text increases or decreases the number of rows the line does not change. is there a way to have this line dynamically change as the number of rows change? or is there a way to snap a line on the imaginary box around the text?

In the block editor, the "Multiple lines" in the properties palette is gray out. I have create single line attribute and replace the multiple line attributes one by one.
Why don't make the Multiple lines property editable? This problem is since Multiple line attribute first time introduced.
Interesting thing is single line attributes can easily changed to multiple line attributes through the properties palette!
We are creating a new company title block for the use in Inventor 2010 and AutoCAd 2010. It has initially been generated in Inventor and exported to AutoCAD. My problem is that all attributes that came over are now setup as multiline attributes and I can't seem to change them to single line. Therefore you have to open the multiline editor separately for every single item to make changes in lieu of just 'tabbing' through the values in the Enhanced Attribute Editor. This adds time and frustration and seems to be intolerable for some of my colleagues.
Is there a way to change the attributes to a single line in AutoCAD I'm just not aware of? I tried to find different settings for the export from Inventor but the options seem to be very limited.
I could probably go over this and create separate AutoCad only titleblock and border but that would kind of defeat the purpose.
is there an way to display attribute data using a multi-leader inside a single dynamic block.
To elaborate, I'm trying to create a borehole dynamic block that I can enter the ground level and end of borehole level as attributes, and have them show up in a multi-leader. The reason for the multi-leader is that I can add a background mask to it and it automatically adjusts the length of the outline obox around it.
I just want to insert the borehole block from a tool palette, enter a couple of attributes, stretch the bottom down to whatever level, and I'm done.
I've been playing with it all weekend trying to get fields to show the attributes and I can get it to work if I use another block for the levels (multi-leaders), but even then I have to into the fields an mess with them. It's go to be east so my CAD guys can do it without slowing down, otherwise they may as well carry writing everything out long-hand as they do now.
I'm using Civil 3D 2012, if that matters.
We have an employee in our office that is kind of old school in some ways. That person has a habit of exploding everything possible in a drawing. Most of us create notations using mtext so it's easy to edit and manipulate. Is there a way to convert the single line text back to multiline after it's exploded?

when I go to edit a text in my drawing using dd edit. The text I want to edit is Italic T, but when I start typing it automatically changes to Txt. font. So every time when I'm done typing I have to highlight everything I typed and change the font manually. On an older computer I had I never had to do this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been running AutoCAD 2006 since it came out and have been running it on Windows 7 since it came out. I've never had any problem runnning my LT version. Today, all of a sudden I cannot type text in the multi-tex box. The cursor moves in the box but nothing is shown. I click okay but cannot select anything. It's like the cursor is moving but not laying down text. I've changed the different fonts, colors and even changed my background from Black to While and still cannot see any text.
My single line text tool continues to work just not the multi-line text box.
I also tried restarting my computer and tried opening existing files. The multi-line box problem occurs on other files to.
I have some my own Icons on my Toolbar in Autocad that prepared by myself,
I can define tooltip for those icons by "Description" property of icons in CUI.
but the limitation is: I will have just single-line and simple tooltips!

We are using inventor 2011 and I would like to make the text wrap where I want it to not where the cell length determines. Can I do this in the ipropeties of the part? When I edit the parts list to move wrap the text manually the text turns blue of course, but this also negates the updating of parts automatically. In the part I use an expression to ensure that the description reverts back to the iproperties of the part ie =<G_L> X <G_W> - <MATERIAL>. I would like it to insert a text wrap then proceed to the next line with <STOCKNUMBER> - <PARTNUMBER> so I would look like:

I guess the only way i know how to do right now is to exploded the M-leader and draw a line vertical down which is not recall proper way . Some people like to use just Leader not Multi leader but i like to use M-leader so i can enter the text in difference line. (See Pic below)

I required a lisp for sorting Multiline text in alphabetic order. (Ascending and Descending)
For example in my drawing it contains lot of Mtexts having multi rows. I need to sort texts inside Mtext. Like PDC-012, DAG-012, AAG-096. I need that Mtext should be AAG-096,DAG-012,PDC-012.
When I collect objects into, say, a drawing of a bicycle, I can do this with grouping or by creating a block (and I don't know what else). If one of the objects in the bicycle collection is itself a collection of objects--for example, a "front wheel" made up of tire, wheel frame, and spokes objects--what "grouping" method do I use such that when I explode the bicycle it only explodes the first level of objects--the objects that made up the bicycle become separate objects, but the objects that make up the front wheel stay collected as a "front wheel." (Or, is there a less deep form of explode?) Blocking the most detailed objects seems burdensome.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of my multi leaders (mleaders) worked great in 2012 with the added "extend leader to text" for leaders on the end of a text string, but in 2013, they now attach to the end of the box again.
Some appear as though they are "trying" to extend, but the beginning of the leader without the extension now starts at the end of the box on the FIRST line.
See the attached examples:
Top one - Mleader is on the end of a text box larger than the actual text (NOTE: I have many drawings like this, opening them in 2013 is a nightmare)
Version #2 - Note what the leader does in this example, the "extend to end of text" is the correct length, but it starts at the edge of the box, not the end of the first line of text. Again, this worked fine in 2012.
Version #3 - This is what should happen, only happens if you adjust the text box size. I don't really want to spend my clients money updated dozens of multileaders on hundreds of drawings to force the mleader to work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust a quick (but possibly hard?) question. I have a multileader set up, but I also want it to automatically include a line which spans the vertical breadth of the text at the end of the landing. It's hard to explain, so I've put an image below.
Currently it's set up as a block that can change in height, depending on how many levels of text I tell it to fit to. Problem is, if I rescale my Multileader, I'll have to go back and rescale the block separately.
Now, possible to include such a feature in a Multileader such that it autoscales and auto lengthens, depending on the height of text?
Is there any simple code for to sum length of lines which is i am choosing and copying result to chosen attribute tag ?
