Hatch that includes grips inside,
The attached hatch includes grips inside it and thus as the lisp command “generate boundary from hatch multiple” is applied, more than one boundary is created
The dwg and the lisp file are attached
How to convert this sort of hatch to be uniform (without grips inside) so that the lisp command can create only one boundary for the hatch?

I have some issues with MTEXT lately:
1. The fonts are not the same in Text and Mtext esp. with respect to the same Verdana font. In Mtext, it is thicker and that's actually what I wanted.
2. I want to know about ways to easily amalgamate two separate mtext or more into one same mtext.
3. Is there a way to hide/display text grips.
4. I am looking for a Verdana/Times New Romans autocad fonts equivalent.
I wish to hide my associative hatch boundaries. Is this possible to do as a permanent rule?
I have seen that you can apparently put them on a different layer then turn them off.
I used the select similar command but it chose all polylines (which i guess is what a hatch boundary is?)
I have three dwg files. Each of them have separate MrSID files (image files) attached by georeference. Each file also has one or more polylines and hatch objects on top of the image.
ONE of these dwg files is causing problems. EVERY SINGLE TIME I plot the dwg file, the hatch and lwpolyline objects are UNDER the image. So I have to copy the hatch on top of itself and delete the original--then do the same with the pline.
Just downloaded Autocad 2013 and am missing quite a few of the standard hatches (siding, soldier, board and batten, etc.) What should I do to get them back. When I open old drawings with these hatches in them, they load just fine...but I am unable to hatch any new areas with these hatches (because they are not listed in the hatch library)
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn my AutoCAD 2014, after selecting a grip on an object or a point it will snap to other grip points even when osnap is turned off. Is there a command or variable to turn what appears to be an auto grip snap function off?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to add or customize my multifunction grips. For example, at a pline vertex the m-f grip allows me to stretch, add, or remove it. One thing I'ld like to add is to break the pline at that vertex. It would be faster to use m-f grips than the pull-down menu item I have.

My coworker's menu does not appear. She did a repair to the installation but the menu still does not appear. Is there a variable that controls that?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAny unpublished system or drawing variable that allows you to toggle to the classic grips on a curve-fit polyline? I have searched online and checked with our reseller but we have been unable to find a way to switch to the historic grips that are available on a curve-fit polyline.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from 2012 to 2013.....Why did they change the way you stretch a wall with grips???? Now, I cannot align a wall perpendicular to the inside of another wall, only the outside edge/face....Is there a fix or setting I am not aware of?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have recently upgraded several seats in our office to the Building Design Suite 2013 ... AutoCAD 2013, Revit 2013, etc.
We regularly use screen-shot .bmp images from a map site to do our location maps ... and .bmp images for a rendering on the cover sheet. Once the images are edited, cropped / etc. as we want, using a photo program, then saved to the project folder, we insert them to the CAD file. We use the GRIPS to dynamically adjust the image size, snapping to line work.
Problem: There are no GRIPS.
We have found that the SketchBook Designer add-on, part of the suite of programs in the upgrade, is apparently the problem. If we disable that add-on, then the grips once again are there and work as they should.
I am posting this here so that the powers-that-be at AutoDesk will hopefully add this item to their list of glitches that need to be resolved.
When trying to stretch of move a line in AutoCAD using the grips, it will move additional lines that are touching. It does not do this for every line in the DWG. It seems to be random. They are not grouped. What could be the problem.

A bit of difference is that the polylines do not have to be even closed. Any polyline gives me exactly the described behaviour, which is definitely not intended. Appears still not resolved.
I have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.
The vertical scroll bar don't really bother me, it's the bottom scroll bar that I mostly want to hide. I never use them and the horizontal one take too much space that hide some "tabs". I know I can "minimize" the horizontal one, but I have to do it every single time I start AutoCAD. So I've search a way to hide them but come with nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to create an effect similar to punching/stamping something in wet sand. Picture this... you have a punch/stamp and it says "Hello". You punch it into the wet sand at the beach and it keeps the form of the punch/stamp. You can see the interior angles/shapes, but not the exterior as it is part of the rest of the beach I want to be able to create that effect in a graphic/drawing.
If you want to look at it another way:
Say you have a glass. You also have a hole in the table to hold the glass. Once in the hole, you see only the very top of it and the inside of the glass... but that which is below the table is not seen. If looked at from above, you can see the interior that is below the table, but not the exterior.
I have some stand alone AutoCAD installations, and I want to know if is posible to hide the SN. I know that when I create a deployment I can select the silent mode to hide this, but I have many SN and i dont want to uninstall the software.

I'm having a recurring issue with using hide situation. Steps are detailed below and an example file is attached.
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit SP1
Sketched all the geometry.Used hide situation to hide the portion of the fittings that reside within the clamps.Copied the clamps and fitting ends to each end of an elbow.Had an issue with item selection and used the audit command on the drawing. Following this the audit says there is a problem with the program and I should restart.
Restarted the program and any line that was effected by the hide situation is now missing.Attempted to open the backup file and the hide situation lines are also missing.
This has happened multiple times with different drawings, but the effect is always the same, all the hide situation data is now missing and I've lost a significant amount of work. The AM_3 layer created by hide situation is still there, but has no geometry.
I"m using AutoCAD Electrical 2013 but this is more of a general CAD question.
I'm working with floor plans from another company, the drawing contains xref for the floor plans and other blocks. I need to label some of our equipment. I'm simply using a DTEXT label inside a rectangle as a block with the text as an atribute.
I'd like to place the label on the floor plan and have it hide anything underneath. I do this with 3D blocks for other work, but I'm looking for a quick and dirty solution.
We just started using autocad 2013 after many years on autocad 2005. I am working on a 3d model, and whenever I do a "HIDE" command, everything looks OK, but I can't select anything until I do a regen. This was never a problem in 2005. Some of the drawings I work on are quite intense and using the hide command would definitely work with selecting the proper objects. Why can't I select or find endpoints or centers any more after doing a hide?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with multiple view ports and multiple raster images
I can shut the image frames off with "Imageframe" )(tframes) this works fine But it does not turn off the viewport frames.
I've tried putting the viewport on it's own layer and freezing the layer. This looks OK on the screen, the frames are gone. But the plot preview shows there are no images showing in any viewport.
How can I just turn off the viewport frames so when plotting I can see what's in the viewport.
I have infer constraints to off (just in case) and I have these hints on every rectangle (in example) i create.
I do click on "hide all" but on every new creation I have the hints again......
I dont understand this behavior.
if I want to hide all I want to hide all always....

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have some heavy drawings with many layouts. Each layout contains multiple viewports. It takes up to 10-15 minutes to switch layout. When we insert a new xref we would like it to appear in all viewports except one. This applies to all layouts.
