I already build sheet system ,and I found when I revise title block template,my sheet not update automatic,I must create new sheet,and double-click it to open it, then you can see update,who know why?
View 3 RepliesI've created a sheet template that includes Fields to populate the sheet with the Project Name and location among others like scale, etc. When I create the new sheet in the project navigator most of the fields populate with the correct information based on the parameters set in the project. However, it consistantly does not populate the Project name and location. When I click the field and ensure that the attribute is set correctly then it renders the correct information. The problem is this ends up being a manual operation yet it still reads as a smart tag. Why do these not populate automatically?
Here's my process:
Create dwt for sheet file and include xref of title block.
Create a block with attributes that link to AEC Project, CurrentSheetTitle, etc. and insert into dwt.
In project navigator I create new sheet and select my template.
Information does not populate.
But when I view the block and close (no edits) it then links.
I am trying to create a single layout with title blockandviewport to save as a template for future. Right clicking on the layout tab does not produce the menu.
I create a new layout by selecting page set up manager in the file menu, create a new layout, but the tab does not show up at the bottom.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI created a standard title block template drawing for my student classwork exercises, and when I constructed the title block I keyed in real dimensions to ensure the title block would completely print on a piece of 8.5 X 11 paper. Now whenever I attempt to draw a large scale drawing (say a 36" dia circle, it draws the circle well outside my title block. I know why this is happening, I just need some tips about how to allow a title block template to be constructed around my current drawing reguardless of the drawing scale.

Is there anyway of transporting the title block template into the layout and then saving that as a template for my future drawings?
Or do I need to go back to the beginning and draw the title block again from scratch in the layout and then save that drawing as a template for future use?
In the title block of a my layout template I have tables inserted for revisions, drawing type, numbering etc. I have type already inserted in those blocks that I typically click on and then type in what I need it to say. My template works on all my other drawings except a particular one that I am currently working on.
When I click on the type, it automatically increases from 3/16" to 8" and enlarges the box to accommodate the new font size.
I've attached a screen. The top is before I click on the word "type" in the lower right corner and the bottom one is afterward.
I just recently received error from one of our customers regarding this kind of error (see attachment).
They are trying to reuse their own customized template to other PCs, they are copying these files to the template folder of Inventor. This method is successfully done in all of their pcs except for the two.

I've worked on CAD for a number of years while at a structural firm, an engineering firm and took classes in school but one thing I never had to do was setup was my own professional drawing from scratch. I know enough that it's crucial I start off on the foot. The engineering firm I worked at had everything ready so whenever I used CAD it was in an existing drawing or preparing a detail which the drafters imported. When I did some drafting work for an architect, he also had the drawing setup for me.
Since I'm now on my own I need to setup my own template drawing with a title block, layers, etc. Whats the best route for setting up my own sheets?
At my firm we always worked in a 1:1 scale & engineering units but since I'm doing floor plans for renovation work I plan on using the industry standard.
We want to use our AutoCAD company standard templates within Inventor. I’ve followed the procedures to accomplish this under the heading:
Create a .dwg template in Autodesk Inventor from an AutoCAD .dwg template
This works without any problems. Inventor is able to recognize the size of our template border (20.75” x 33”) and correctly selects a sheet format of 24” x 36”. The template border is centered on the 24” x 36” sheet just as we would like it (see attached).
The template is used to create a new Inventor .dwg, and base views are placed and annotated. No problems, everything looks good. The new drawing is saved and Vaulted. However, at some point Inventor "shifts" the location of the template on the 24” x 36” sheet format (see attached). This action is unpredictable. The drawing might be checked-out and checked-in several times before the “shift” happens. When it does we have to re-locate the views and other text annotation to suit the new title block & border location.
How can we lock the position of the template border & title block? (Should be noted that we need to keep our template positioned such that the bottom left corner is at 0,0,0 when it is opened in AutoCAD.)

I have made a template for my mapbooks and I got the main viewport, key viewport and adjacent map arrows to work great, but the title block is proving more difficult. I have tried it many ways, in a seperate drawing in model space which did not work, in the template as a block in a layout which came in, but did not allow me to edit any foelds unless exploded, etc, etc...
How to use an existing company title block incorporated into the map book template?
I have some code to replace the current title block with a title block from a template file. I just don't like how it adds a new title block definition named "copy of titleblock". I'd like to delete or replace the current title block definition so only the newly added one is listed.

I'm just being picky at this point, but I don't want a buildup of title block definitions. We reuse drawings all the time which is why a simple method of updating a title block would be nice. I can just imagine in some years time after a title block update or two there are 20 "copy of copy of copy of .................. titleblock" listed in a drawing file.
I placed a Sheet Propertie called Sheet Number in my title block.
I want only my sheet number in my title block and not the follow number.
I found the code made bij Curtis Waguespack and changed Mid to Left.
In the message box it shows the number i want but in the title block it shows only the follow number.
My sheet number is 400:1
why dusn't show only the number 400 in the titleblock?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not up to speed in configuring title blocks with sheet set manager and I've come into this situation unexpectedly.
I had to come up with a set of P&P sheets in a hurry to assist a contractor in providing a rough estimate for a sewer run, so I generated the sheets using the preconfigured imperial sheet set template. Afterwards I've switched out the border and title block generated by the template with our standard blocks. Our block attributes are old school and do not use fields. Now I am trying to upgrade those old attributes by replacing them with fields that reference the Sheet Set attributes.
Here is the problem: when inserting the field for the sheet number I can either use the CurrentSheetNumber or the SheetSetPlaceholder attribute. If I use CurrentSheetNumber, the title block shows the correct sheet number for the current sheet (the sheet I am making the edits from). However all the other sheets show that same number. In other words the fields do not show the corresponding sheet numbers from SSM. If I use SheetSetPlaceholder none of the title blocks will update to show the sheet number.
I believe I should be using the placeholder field but I can't get it to synchronize it with the SSM. Is there a way to make this work?

We have a title block and border which is used in MS. If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected. We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing. ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks. We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.
The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again. Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

Is there a way to change the default margin offsets (i.e. the distance between the edge of your border or title block to the edge of your paper), without using the "Insert Drawing Border" option?
I would have thought you could do this through the "Edit Sheet" or "Define New Title Block / Border" options. I have multiple customized title blocks, which each require their own margin offsets.
I moved the hole table from the original sheet to an other, but the fields in the title block of the new sheet don't update with the iproperties of the model

Niether the file name nor the layout tab have the current sheet title. So how can i either rename the layout tab with the sheet title or name the PDF with the sheet title??

The prompt when a new drawing or sheet is created is misleading and makes users think they need to manually fill out the prompt. Secondly, this code works on multi-sheet drawings but it concludes by making the last sheet active. Since we are triggering this rule before save it's a nuisance to have the drawing switch sheets everytime you do a save. Ideally, the current active sheet should remain active when the rule runs. Standard sheet number option gives you only 1, 2 and so on.
I want A1 where A does not change and 1 changes depending on sheet number.
I have a Revit project with two different types of title blocks - one for Planning Board Submissions and one for Construction Documents. Is there a way of changing the title block family for a sheet from one family to another? I cannot seem to be able to do this without deleting the sheet and re-creating it with the new title block family.
I cannot just edit the family and reload it because, like I said, I need to maintain certain information on some sheets and different information on others.
I want to pin all our sheets in the lower left corner. We are using a parametric sheet with all the sheet sizes we need built in. The title block is placed in the lower right corner. Is there a way to keep the lower left corner in place (pin) and the tiltle block moving when changing sheet size?
View 3 Replies View RelatedNeeded to purge items in a drawing to recover a drawing in order to repair corruption within it it. I purged and audited the drawing in question and then created a block or the drawing elements which I imported to a new drawing sheet. That's great, all is well but.....obviously (now) the only layers, dimscale,etc. items I normally use in my template sheet are gone and only the items remaining after the purge are the ones that were in my original drawing.
How can I, or can I replace my normal full layer list, dim settings, blocks, etc?
I know how to insert title block in a layout tab. i want the title block to be the same block in all the tabs i am using. if i have 10 tabs i would like each layout tab to have the same title block. i will also need properties to where i change the date on the cover sheet, all layout tabs will be changed at the same time.
this also needs to be 1 file and not a base file and xref.
i know this works because i am working in autocad where it is implemented. this was done by an individual before i started at this job.
