When I select any object, my quick properties tab is blank and my properties tab doesn't register anything. Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.

There are some layers in my drawing that won't delete in the layers properties manager. I don't know why. It gives me 4 possible reasons:
- It might be layer 0 or a Defpoint (whatever that is). - It is the current layer - It is an Xref dependent layer - It is a layer containing objects
But none of these, to my knowledge, apply. There could be things on the layer that I'm just not seeing, but I've looked thoroughly. I even zoomed out to the extents, highlighted the whole area, and clicked the erase tool, but it still won't go away. I got the file from another computer, so it might be an Xref dependent layer and the Xref'ed files just didn't come with it. How would I be able to tell - and how could I remove the Xref dependency?
Other than that, is there any other reason a layer won't delete? Can I force it to delete?
I am using AutoCAD LT 2013 where I work.I am working with a Floor Plan in which the building and the Site Plan are XRefed and the drawing is very slow.
The building is small, but the XREfed Site Plan, being of a large shopping center, was as drawn by a survey company, and is large. I took out (erased) the solid hatches that indicate the concrete, to make the site a little smaller. Since I do not use the entire site plan on the recipient Floor Plan Sheet, I clipped it using XClip, so only the necessary areas and parking around the building are shown.
I notice that the recipient drawings are very slow (i.e., the Floor Plan where I am working), and the Layers Properties Manager is the worst offender, being very slow and erratic when I want to add a new layer, change layer name, etc.
The computer is a new very large computer, and I did not have this slowness problem before working with other prjects.
Is there any setting or some settings that will make the drawings faster?
When I load a dwg file, i set all invisible layers to visible! The layer properties has been set to visible, but the entities on those invisible layers still can't see. After that I change the layout, just change the 'model' to 'layout1' Then change back to 'model' . All entities is visible!

We use AutoCad to name our dxf files for our Burn Table and whenever we get a new part it is a repetitive task to input layers and common text. So what I am curious is can AutoCAD input the layers and text automatically using a Macro?
I want the Macro to put in 6 layers and choose the layer color and title then input text boxes with word in 3 different layers. There will be about a total of 10 different text boxes with text already put in the boxes by the Macro.
I am currently updating and coming up with a better system for are plant layout file for AutoCAD. When this project is complete, it will be set up so if someone needs to make a change they can just make a copy of the X-Ref file for the area they will be updating and hand it back in when there done. I will review the updated X-Ref then switch out the old X-Ref file for the updated one.
Problem: the problem I am having is when I am in the master drawing that contains all the X-Ref files, the layers list becomes enormous. There are about 30 to 40 different X-Ref files with 15 layers each. Those 15 layers contain the exact same information but you have to edit them individually.
Question: Is there a way to make the 15 layers in the master effect the corresponding layer in all the X-ref files? For instance, you hide the “Machines” layer in the master and it hides the “Machines” layer in all the X-ref.
Side Note: If you were going to make the suggestion “use Xbind” I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work well because “Xbind” creates a new layer you have to assign to things instead of making the layers relate to one another.
Working in AutoCAD 2013LT-my Layer Properties Manager has stopped allowing me access. When I open a drawing layers all come however I get a pop-up note that says: "ALL LAYERS ARE ALREADY INCLUDED IN THIS LAYER STATE. NO LAYERS CAN BE ADDED"
What happened-even when I try to edit layers they will not show up in the Properties Manager as changed.
Mirrored blocks with annotative attributes, I know I can scale each one individually, but there are over one hundred. It would be nice to use the properties box and type in the scale. As soon as I type in the "x" scale, y and z follow! I need to put in negatives in x only.
I use Quick Properties in static mode mostly for counting objects and quickly seeing the length of lines and polylines. These lengths are listed in feet and inches. Would it be possible to add an additional length item to the quick properties menu which shows the inches/decimal length? Would be awesome as I wouldn't then have to do the math to convert to inches.
I have noticed that "Data Extraction" does not give you geometry information of a 3D solid such as position X, Y, and Z, and Length, Width, and Height. This information IS available in "Properties". Is there a way to extract this info to csv or some other format?
My quick properties pick box came on for no reason. i have turned them off everywhere i can think of but it will not go away. i do not want the hovering QP to ever come on, how can i make sure this doesn't happen.
It took me a long time & effort to add all 190 custom sheet set properties (Our Frame/template is complex). When i found out that I could not re-order the sheet set custom properties I was really pleased.
My problem;
I'm trying to add a FIELD with some of the sheet set custom properties. Why are the field not seing ANY of the 190 properties I added to my sheet set? see picture
I really love all of thoses fancy new feature Autodesk add year after year, I mean, you know, NURBS modeling & stuff... Trully great work Autodesk!
We draw several instances of the same base object, a box for example. Different boxes have different features to plot on different layouts. For example, on one of the boxes we dimension lengths, on another we might show levels or elevations. We have multiple layouts based upon the number of unique features we need to plot. Then we batch plot those layouts to a single pdf file with multiple pages.
We do not plot to a scale, we just use dynamic zoom to make the layout look good.
Once that first layout is set, I want another layout with the second box, then a third and fourth etc.
How do I get the new layout with the second box to match the first one? I want the second box to be in the same position and be the same size as it is in the first layout.
I'm trying to figure out two things that have changed:
1) Lets say i create a polyline, lets say its 15 inches long. I used to be able to click on it and have the length show up in my properties. it no longer does that.
2) Lets say i create a polyline, it's green and has a dot pattern. I decided i wanted to change it to yellow and hidden pattern. I can no longer select the line and change it under the properties, it will change it in properties, but not on my screen. then when i draw a new line it will be yellow and hidden. I end up having to matchprop to make it work.
why is it when i open excel and run document properties, i input information into "Author", "Title" and "Subject", if i am in Detail view in windows explorer, and i have these columns visible, they show right up. But when i run DWGPROPS in autocad and i input information into "Author", "Title" and "Subject", they do not show up?
I'm new to AutoCAD 2011 (from AutoCAD-14). Is it possible to make the properties dialog box function like it did in AutoCAD-14?If not, can I remove some of the items in the properties dialog box.
My company is building a template library, and I want to fill in the .DWG document properties by extracting the information from a the block attributes
For example we need the following document properties (TITLE, SUBJECT, and KEYWORD) to be filled in from the same block attributes (TITLE, SUBJECT, and KEYWORD). The template we have now has this information manually input, but we would like to "automate" it on the .DWG document properties.
How do we do this, use a macro or is there some other way to do this automatically?
I am having an issues that I am unable to change the properties of a selected object using the tools located within the ribbon. Instead I need to go through the properties popout to change them.
for instance, I seclect a line and want to change the layer from A-wall to A-door. I try to change it using the drop down layers located within the ribbon, but it does not change. however If I do the same only though the properties popout window I can change it.
What setting would cause a huge, well about 5-second, delay when any entity is selected without a command active and only with the Properties Palette on-screen but autohidden? If command is given first, verb-noun, no hesitation after selecting at Select Objects: prompt. But, selecting any entity first, noun-verb, causes the 5-second delay before the mouse is again active. Very annoying. Closing the Properties Palette completely seems to cure the delay problem, but at a different cost in editing time. The workstation is running WinXP Pro with 4 gigs of ram.
Is there any way to edit multiple attribute properties, NOT using battman? While battman will chnage every att-block within the drawing, I'm looking for a way to change the text size of one specific line of text within an attribute, and ONLY change it in a certain few within the drawing. It'd be nice if I can select those specific blocks and change the properties in the properties manager, but it's not an option.
My Quick Properties does not show my block attributes but they shows in Properties Palette. I have edit Quick Properties in my Custom.CUI that overrides ACAD.CUI settings. I'm using AutoCAD 2012.
We have a contractor who does drawings for us on occasion. For some reason his drawings won't keep linetype and color when switching layers. Is there a setting that will force all lyers to keep their color and linetype?
