I'd like to create a routine that will automatically change an object to a pre-defined layer.
Command "1" would "MATCHPROP" and change a selected object to layer "1empty", command "2" would "MATCHPROP" to layer "0"
So, type 1, select an object, that object would be changed to layer "1empty"

why i can't not match properties (MP) multileader texts, as you can see on the pic, i want the Mleader text on the right to be the same size as on the left, they are in the same layer, same mleader style but when click MP to match with the one on the left, nothing happen?
In 2011 AutoCAD Mechanical, I used to be able to match dimension override properties including the entered text. Not sure how it worked, but the manual entered text would be matched/transferred to the new default dimension. Now using 2012 and this function is not working. This feature is quite handy for the type of work we do. All match property settings are enabled.

I'll need to be able to select several objets all at once and have each of them maintain the correct colors, linetypes, lineweights. Most everything is set as bylayer but that makes everything change once the objects are moved to a new layer.
How can I keep the everything looking like it never changed except for the fact that it will be moved to a new layer - layer 0 in this situation?

I am trying to apply the match properties to a newly created multileader but it isn't working.
When I click the layer prop. man. icon, I get a list of all the possible commands, but not the window it's supposed to show.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a sheet set with several sheets, each sheet with a viewport that ultimately xrefs to the same base file. In that base file, I have changed some layer properties (color), but I can't get those properties to show up in the viewports on each sheet unless I go into the layer properties of each viewport on each sheet and change them individually. On other layers, I have set them to be no plot layers in the base file, but they still plot on the sheets. I have tried just simply freezing them as well, but they still show up in the viewports. I have tried viewport overrides, but maybe don't do it properly? How can I get these properties to translate over to the viewports on each sheet without going through each sheet one by one?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMost annoying thing, the VP Freeze and New VP Freeze columns in the Layer Properties Manager keep resetting themselves to original position. I've done all the proflie stuff, re-save it after changing it, re-load it when I find the error, etc.. and still it reverses every time I restart AutoCAD.
What is it with the columns in dialog boxes? I've posted how the column widths in the File Dialog box reset everytime too. How they don't follow windows folder options. Is this some Windows issue or AutoCAD issue?
I need to loop through the user defined properties and create a list. I can create the lost but I can't find a way of looping through the defined properties. I can get property values but only if I know the name.
I need to loop through without knowing the UD name. Is there a way to recursively loop through all of the user defined properties?
I'm trying to add user defined properties to parcels, and then apply various styles to control shading of parcels, and to display some or all of the user defined data, as applicable depending on the values of that data.
I have managed to create a user defined category within my [User-Defined Property Classification] and then create categories within that classification.
The problem I'm having is that I want to be able to see those classifications in prospector so that I can sort based on those values, and then batch assign styles. How to display the classifications.
So - user defined properties for points are great. My only problem is that I can't copy and paste them between drawings without losing the user defined properties. I've tried it in both c3d 2011 and 2013.
I can export them into a user defined point file and import them into another drawing the same way, but that is more cumbersome than just copying and pasting.

I have created a MANHOLE UDP which defines inverts in & out etc as well pipe types and sizes. Is there a way to automatically generate a polyline or feature line which picks up the invertout to invert in of the next manhole by point number? hope that makes sense! I am using Civil3D 2012.

I have created user defiined properties to add up to 5 inverts to a topo point object. Each consists of the direction of the invert as an enumerated list that can be picked from (N, NE, S, SE, etc) and the second is the measured distance from rim down to IE. I created these in order IE1_Dir, IE1_Meas, IE2_Dir, IE2_Meas, etc and the first time I used it everything worked fine and was in the proper order. Now after opening the drawing for a 2nd time all of the UDP's are scrambled making it a bit of a PITA to enter into the proper fields.
I do not see any logical order to why it is displaying this way as if it was in order of creation or alphebetical it would not have changed. Is there any way to correct this or is this a case of Civil 3D is going to do whatever it wants to do?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using LT 2013. I cannot figure out how to match properties for text. I click on the 2 options and the box witdth, orientation, layer will match but not the style or font. I have tried using Quick Properties to select but have not had any success with this tool. Here is what I did:
Created a style and named it Arial.
Open the Quickselect box.
Apply to : click the box and select the various mtext objects.
Object Type: mText
Properties: Style
Operator: Select All
Include in New Selection Set is checked.
I click Ok and the objects are selected.
Next I go to the Properties Manager and change the style to the one I want to use, bu the text does not change. If Idoubleclick a text object it shows the correct style, but not the correct font. What have I missed doing?
When doing a match properties from one hatch to another, I end up with two hatches having identical properties (pattern, scale, etc) but that look completely different. See the attached image.
I tried the old snapbase trick and also tried various hatch origin settings, but without success.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe've just upgraded to AutoCAD Architecture 2012 and I discovered that my match properties command (MA) is now on steroids. In the process of making an existing plan into a demo plan, I put a toilet on a demo layer. I intended to use match properties to put other select items on the same demo layer, but when I touched the lavatory, it turned into a toilet. I've never had this happen before. In trying to solve the issue, I've discovered the same thing happens with other AEC objects (couches, urnials, chairs -- all became toilets) and it happens in multiple files. Only walls and doors remain intact with only the layer, color and linetype changing (which is what I was expecting).
I looked at the settings inside the match properties command and none of them seemed to apply. I deselected the special properties options anyway, but the problem remains.

I'm doing dimensions on Layout and I'm facing a problem: Using the same configurations of dimensions, sometimes I get the right dimension, but sometimes, without changing any configurations, I get wrong dimensions.
At the same drawing, with the same configurations, I get different dimensions to the same line. The only way that I'm being able to correct it is by using Match Properties (from a correct dimension to the one that went wrong).

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm into reference edit mode (REFEDIT) I can make match properties command also on objects which are not in working set - this was not possible to do before and it is pretty annoying. Is this a bug or some new function, hopefully turnable on/off?
Also I never understood, why is not possible to copy anything from reference edit mode, but it is possible to paste into, also there are no problems in Block editor mode? It seems to me like artificial set limit with no obvius explanation why would that be good especially when I see that it is possible to match properties on outside objects.
When I select any object, my quick properties tab is blank and my properties tab doesn't register anything. Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.
