I have a problem in Autocad Structural Detailing:
whenever I change a block, the numbering of new reinforcements restarts at "1" even when I had already
created al lot of reinfocement bars before changing the block.
Is it possible to setup a block so that an attribute position remaines fixed (absolute to drawing) when moving the block?

What I would like is to be able to set the position of the Coordinate Label and Coordinate Object independently, so that if I move one in the drawing, it doesn't move the other. I've looked into Dynamic Blocks, and the "Lock Position" parameter. I can move the attribute independently, but still everytime I move the block, the attribute moves too.
Our company uses a custom Sheet/Coordinate system to follow flyoffs across a drawing, and I'm trying to learn how to automate the process. It's completely manually right now, so any changes to a drawing creates a lot of work renumbering these flyoffs.
I want to draw reinforcement on inclined side but offset command is not working for reinforcement, How to draw equally spaced reinforcement on inclined side? I tried geometric constraint but it also not working for circle.

Now I could define this range, but there are some height of the wall in which the unit produces a range of 50 to 320mm. 320mm is more than a step transverse reinforcement 200mm, so the work of the unit is not entirely correct.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have some serious fight this morning with AutoCAD. I have to dimension my drawings properly so it can be build. I did some already, a few aligned dimensions in an layout snapping on modelspace objects. when i put them all is fine and right dimensions.
BUT after i saved, closed the file and opened it again those dimensions are everywhere exept where i put them originally. And no the modelspace objects are not moved.
How can this be? can i solve this? or is this a know bug for AutoCAD 2012? i can't check all the dimensions before publisching again and again.
I have a Autocad 2011, and I want to enter text in page but the ruler is in vertical position and not horizontal as normal. I searched all the settings but I found nothing .

What I would like to do is an arithmetic operation of addition, something similar to how 'CAL works. In this particular case I would like to add the value of 100,000 before the conversion factor, or 100 after the conversion factor.
Is there any way to edit (remove) the "Lock position" mode of a visible attribute in a block once the block has been created? This characteristic does not show up in BATTMAN for editing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with the perpendicular function when I draw a line. It won't lock at a single point, instead it moves along an axis.
For example, when I want to draw a line in Y direction it moves in the X axis, and opposite if I draw in the X direction.
How can I make the perpendicular function lock to one position?
After closing and reopening my command prompt, I find that it is now at the bottom left of the screen and no longer part of the main graphics window. How can I get it to display at the bottom of the main display?

I just used the ATTIN command to upload a bunch of data to the block attributes on a drawing, and now the information is all over the place.
Instead of going through each one manually and repositioning the attributes (a VERY lengthy process), I want to use a "correct" version as a template of sorts to inform the other selected blocks of where to place the attributes and have it reposition the whole thing automatically.
Is this even possible?
By using GETSTRING I can show the user an input field for text entry.
The question is: How can I decide which position in the drawing this input field appears ? I would like to be able to pass a geometry.point3d as a parameter but I do not find where to pass this parameter.

I've worked on a command that automatically imports a dwg into paperspace and positions it. I've just realized that when imported vertically, the titleblock is on the wrong side of the layout. I've imported it to (10,10,0) and would like to import to those exact opposite co-ordinates to essentially flip it but i'm a bit unclear as to how. I know that I can use the commands Database.PextMax and Database.PextMin to determine the max and min points of the primary layout, but what co-ordinates are these, are they the top right corner and bottom right corner.

i recently upgraded from 2006 to 2008, and am having a strange problem. when i open anything such as the xref manager or quick select window, i resize the window and the next time i open it, back to the default size and position.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble setting up my toolbars. I position them the way I want, but as soon as I switch back from a different workspace (lets say3D modeling) the position of the toolbars change. Also I can't get the scroll bars to disappear for good, they always come back
Here is what I do exactly:
1. Change the content and the position of the toolbars (acad classic workspace)
2. Lock down the toolbars
3. Go to options => profiles, create a new profile (add to list), set current
4. Change workspace to 3D modeling
5. Change workspace back to acad classic

The result is: content of the toolbars is the way I want, but the position is changed. The toolbars are locked, so in order to move them to the desired place I have to unlock.

I am dabbling with the new appearance settings in Inventor and for some reason or other; I can’t seem to align the weld bump map to what I would like. I want to shift the position of the map so it shows a full weld bead, not two halves as shown.
I have shifted the offset from 0 cm to see if it moves the position, but all I seem to be able to change is the scale of the bead.

Is it possible to set a view representation and level of detail (combine them) at the same time in an assembly. Or do they have to be set individually?
Attached images show the first assembly option with four sections together. The second image shows the second assembly option with the top and bottom sections only.

how do i set the world datum to a known point on one of the parts in the current view so that I can get the COG to relate to a position within the part that I set the datum to?
basically I have a block of metal with a load of parts on one end that offsets the weight / COG and i need to balance this on some brackets that are equally spaced from the COG, so i need to determine where the COG is of all the selected parts but as a position within the block from a known point.
I use the Key Generator from the Design Accelerator and drag the red arrow to position the key under the gear.
Numbers change, and when i position the key they disappear.
There is no way to input a precise dimension. am i right?
Just upgraded to Autocad 2013 and I've noticed that if you click a dimension then right click the "dimension text position" is missing. Also double clicking it to get to properties, under text position I don't get the option to change to sat centred or above line. how to get it back. I've switched to classic view if this has any effect.Inventor 2013

I want to have one subassembly - red rectangle with screw/bolt or whatever you call it, but i want to change position of screw if necessary (this screw needs to be a part of kit/subassembly) but I do not want a situation when this new screw position is the only reason of making new subassembly.
I tried Position in representation but I can assign constraints only to master level.
I am trying to get either location, insertion point, or center of an entity that is inside of a block. I'm getting subentity using the Editor.GetNestedEntity. I create a FullSubEntityPath for highlighting, that works well, and I have looked at using GetSubEntityGeometricExtents using that same subentitypath, but not having any luck, I can't seem to find any documentation on using that method.
I know I can get the location of the owner, then calculate the location of the entity based off of that, but I'm looking for an easy way now, if that don't work out, I can do the lengthy approach.
