Apr 16, 2013Copy of a SHX file called SUPERSUB.SHX? It's causing havoc on my drawings. Explain the difference between a font and a big font or SHX to a big font?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Loaded SHX File Does Not Appear In STYLE
Oct 31, 2012I am working in a drawing that was my coworkers baby, but she went on vacation. It has a font style called "HOLLOW" that references a font name called "SWISS742C.shx". That .shx file was not in any of my Support File Search Path directories, so I found the folder that contained that .shx file on our network drive and referenced it in Options > Files > Support File Search Path. Everything I googled said that is what I should do.
However, the "SWISS742C.shx" file still does not show up in my styles dialog box under font name. I have regened, quit autocad and reopened, and I cannot find it.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Custom Enterprise File Or Partially Loaded CUI Files In Main CUI
Feb 26, 2013We have a Custom CUI Enterprise file that we load in the profile settings (AutoCAD 2008). I transferred it though the CUI Editor and saved it for AutoCAD 2012. When I load it into AutoCAD 2012, the pull down custom pull down menu does not show, with or without the menu bar turned on. I have some partial CUI files that I did the same way. When I load them, and list them in the Main CUI file as such, they show up as expected. I even tried to list the Custom CUI Enterprise file in the same manor, but I get a "read only" type message and it still doesn't show the pull down.
I also thought about transferring it to another CUI file to partial load and not have a Custom CUI Enterprise file.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Etransmitted Font Not Loaded?
Mar 6, 2013I have a question about etransmitting. I etransmitted a file, including the font files, as a zip file. I extracted the files and opened the dwg file. The zip file contains the shx file I need, but it is not loaded in my drawing. I was under the impression that extracting an etransmitted zip file automatically loaded the font files into the drawing. Is this wrong? Does the recipient of the etransmitted file have to add the path of the font shx file in Options?

Feb 2, 2012I never do any in depth changes to my cui. It won't load ribbons or panels because it claims that my cui file is removed, renamed, or missing. It is not, I can specify it in the AutoCAD options (the second picture link). But when I type in cui, It gives me the error message (the first picture link). I've restarted and it does nothing. I've verified that the acad.cuix file is there... and it is (aka not removed, renamed, or missing so the error is bogus) The only strange thing I found though was that when I do a cui load, I can browse to the file, select it, but when I click to load, nothing happens. No hourglass cursor, no hiccup, not anything. If I repeat the same process with a different cui file, it works as it should. URLs...

Nov 5, 2009There is a font and table style called "Legend" that is automatically generating and can not be purged.
I have looked through all the start up files, all the lisp files and can't find anything that would be creating them!
They appear in any file I open, new or old and even if I open a template file.
I have attached a file that should be empty but you will (or should) see both a font and table style called "Legend".
(FYI I am running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 as AutoCAD 2010)

I have tried "reseting" my CUI acad.cuix file and restoring it and it won't work -- I heard that was the golden ticket to my problem; however, my ribbon still says it doesn't have tabs or panels loaded...I've tried restarting AutoCad and then reseting my main cuix file as well.

CGSX5 on i3 PC, Win 7, 6G RAM.
The version that came with X4 worked in XP, but when I upgraded to Windows 7 it wouldn't install Type 1 fonts, and it wouldn't install any missing fonts when a file loaded. I buy Font Expert, though I never got it to work as well as the old FN.
But my new (trial) version of X5 has a version of the utility (v. 6.0.0, build 108) that seems to work just fine both ways. Thats a wonderful. When did this happen? There's a noticeable difference in the versions, according to xplorer2. X4's version:

I can no longer load X4's version; only v. 6.0.0 comes up, so I can't compare. But FN now works properly in X4, too, so Corel must have done something to address this. Cool.

I can successfully batch when I load a single variable library with about 100 datasets at one time but anything much larger than that in the same xml format gives me a “the incoming variable library is invalid” error. Elsewhere on this discussion forum I have seen answers say there is no limit to the size of the XML file. [URL]..... But my experience with Illustrator CS5 says otherwise.
1. If there is a maximum size either in file size, number of datasets, or number of variables/values, what the limit is.
2. I still need to create thousands of the final document I am creating - if the limit is close to 100 and I need to create many thousands - scripting or other methods to get this done?

May 23, 2011I am really confused on an Annotative Text style issue. I have a blank drawing and i need to set up an annotative text, dimension and multileader style. So i started with the Text Style.
Now i would like the annotative text size to be 2mm, Arial standard. However whenever i try to do this, it changes my 2mm to 3mm which is not what i am after.
Is there some limitation to the font or is this AutoCAD error or am i just trying to do something odd.

Feb 3, 2012I have some custom texts that I use. A week or two ago they started showing up looking different and certain symbols like ' weren't showing correctly (they were displaying ? instead).
When I went into Text Style, sure enough the style being used was pointing to a file that either didn't exist or wasn't the proper format. An example is that my HS text was pointing to the Font Name HS.TTF instead of Helvetica 53 Extended which is installed as one of my Windows Fonts. When I changed the Font Name to Helvetica 53 Extended everything looked okay again.
My problem is that even after hitting apply to this change and closing the Text Style form when I open a new drawing HS text is set back to HS.TTF and not displaying properly. How do I go about permanently changing this value back to what it should be, and how did it get changed in the first place?

Jun 2, 2011My company just got all new computers and upgraded out AutoCAD to 2012 from 2009. And every single drafter has complained to me that the new Array is terrible. Basically, it seems to take 10 times as long to set up and array as it used to and now it's linking all of the objects together as a group which is absolutely terrible for what we do especially when we are making 4 or 5 columns or hundreds of objects. I cant find any classic or legacy array commands.
This really needs to be put back in because right now everyone is asking us to put AutoCAD 2009 back on the computers, and the whole reason we bought new PCs is because they couldn't run anything after 2009 without being too slow to be productive.

Jan 26, 2012new at autocad 2012 (previous CAD07 user)im having trouble setting up my page, never had a problem with this before..... i need an A4 scaled drawing in paper space.
my current setup....
paper size: A4
plot area: extents, ticked centre the plot
scale: 1:1
the result: titleblock cut off on left and right sides
its only when i need A4 size (red margins!) A3, A2 etc are fine....i dont know what else is needed? I installed CAD12 only a few days ago and im the first and only AutoCAD user at my work. Im not sure if there's some intial setup settings that are required.

Jul 23, 2013I'm having a drawing (check in attachment), I change the transparency with different values and I can see the changes I made just in 2D Wire frame Style, when I change in conceptual style it's appear as the transparency value from the layer dialog box is 0, for all values that I modify I don't see no changes.
The transparency button is active. One sample from the drawing is in attachment.

I can't draw a line under it, I can't do any command under it.
I hoped that VISUALSTYLESCLOSE would stop it.

I've Regenerated.
All the User Interfaces choice are unchecked.

Feb 22, 2012In the old versions of autoCAD I could select everything in the drawing and use the text style pull-down to select the text style I wanted all of the existing text to be and it would change it when the style was selected. Is there not a way to do this in AutoCAD 2011 without using the quick select feature in the properties dialog box?
I solved the same problem with dimensions by turning the dimension toolbar on but the text toolbar doesn't have the style as an option on it.
