Illustrator :: Maximum Allowed Size Of Variable Library XML File Loaded From Variables Palette?

What the maximum size xml file one can use when making data driven graphics in Illustrator?
I can successfully batch when I load a single variable library with about 100 datasets at one time but anything much larger than that in the same xml format gives me a “the incoming variable library is invalid” error. Elsewhere on this discussion forum I have seen answers say there is no limit to the size of the XML file. [URL]..... But my experience with Illustrator CS5 says otherwise.
1. If there is a maximum size either in file size, number of datasets, or number of variables/values, what the limit is.
2. I still need to create thousands of the final document I am creating - if the limit is close to 100 and I need to create many thousands - scripting or other methods to get this done?
Is there a max number of pics allowed in Elements 10? My catalog has 11,918 pics, and am importing 124 pics from an SD memory card. Elements stops working.
When I run a script that brings up a palette window from ExtenScript toolkit the window behaves as I expect.But when I load the same script from illustrator (ctrl+12) the window does not show, or is instantly closed.
I am setting up illustrations for localization and am running into a problem with loading a modified variable library; for instance, one that has been translated. I getting the message "The incoming variable library is invalid".
I can't seem to find any information on what to do after:
-linking and adding variables and objects in the Variables panel -taking a snapshot -saving the variables library file -copying and translating the variables library file
I'm doing a HD production (1920x1080) and can't get any animation previews to run at 100% when trying to create from the Animation Sequence? Surely there can't be a limit to the maximum size you can preview at?
We currently use CS3 in our Art Dept at the sign company I work for. Sometimes designing/layout for some projects can be a pain when they go beyond the max artboard size constraint in CS3. This is especially true in my dept which does all the large format digital printing. I find myself having to switch back and forth between some of my sign software, which has almost limitless area for design and layout. Not that we can't work in scales but life would be so much easier if we could do things in full scale. Now to the point, does CS4 have larger artboard size than CS3?
I would like to know what the max image file size is in Organizer? I Have an Epson V600 scanner. I am trying to scan Photos, slides and Neg.s & import the scans into Organizer.
I am trying to create a document size 6040mm x 350mm (for a sticker to run along the front of an eatery counter) but Illustrator keeps saying that it exceeds the canvas size. is there a way to increase the maximum canvas size or will I just need to design the document in two halves?
I've been trying out the different palette options in Image Trace and I believe I've come across a feature that does not work as the designers intended. In Adobe's documentation, there is very little said about the feature, which I believe is intended to allow you to substitute a custom palette for the palette that would be created by the original artwork that is being traced. It's under the Palette drop-down menu and is available if you've selected the Color Mode. It's called Document Library. In Adobe's documentation, there are these two paragraphs:
[URL]Palette - Specifies a palette for generating a color or grayscale tracing from the original image. (This option is available only when Mode is set to Color or Grayscale.)To let Illustrator determine the colors in the tracing, select Automatic.To use the document swatches as a palette for the tracing, select Document Library.
This would be a great feature, if it worked! I have a lot of artwork to trace, it's all in a set yellow-to-green palette, and it would be a big time-saver if I didn't have to change the palette after the trace. Unfortunately, the feature doesn't work as promised.
The CS5 online help is pretty tight-lipped about variables … is there an easy way of pulling in the save date as a variable? ID can do it; even Word can do it :-}
I recently upgraded to Premier Elements 12 and loaded my photo and videos from my android (Galaxy 4G Samsung) into the new program. After which when I went to my Lightroom 5.3 I found my entire library folders except one picture with a missing file statement, gone, disappeared. All gone but the one picture. The original files are still on my hard drive, but can I get them back with my Lightroom changes that haven't been saved? How do I do this? or are they all gone?
I'm using Inventor Pro 2013 as a single user (no vault). see the attached error. I was placing parts and I think I pulled one outside the project folder?? I got something about changing directories and I accepted it. That may be what happened but I'm not sure. I also noticed that in the projects box my project says (read only).
I use gimp 2.8.4 on a tablet with pen.The brush size that I usually use is ranging from 1-25.I prefer to change the brush size by dragging the slider, but using thetablet pen to click the brush size slider bar is really not easy to controlit to 1-25. I've recently started using Paint.NET and I've been very impressed with its features. I've run into some problems working with large images though. URL...
It's a 10000 x 11299 pixel PNG image. I want to be able to zoom in quite far in order to look at some of the fine details, and make some notes on the image while I go. Unfortunately, as I read elsewhere on this forum, it seems that Paint.NET currently doesn't support a virtual canvas size greater than 32768 x 32768. On this image, that means I get a maximum zoom of 290% before I can't zoom in anymore, which isn't very much. Right now I'm having to use the "Windows Photo Viewer" to actually view and zoom into the image, while making the notes zoomed further out in Paint.NET, which is a bit cumbersome.
I know this is probably non-trivial to fix, but it would be fantastic if you can remove this barrier on the maximum virtual canvas size.
what's the maximum number of photos that can be organized in Elements 10? what's the maximum size of a photo with a thumbnail what's the meaning of the 'broken card' icon?
I am having diffuculty with the blend tool! I tried to upload the image but it said it was't allowed. Not sure how to correctly explain the problem but I'll do my best. I am have trouble getting the blend tool to recognize the images. I can only select the very edge of the images and then it doesn't look like it should when it does blend. How I can upload the file to show what I am trying to say?
Query on rigging, more to do on skinning. If my uv is a multi uv layout (0-1, 1-2 and so on) for a model then I am able to get the maximum size of texture for each part of the model.
When I take this to rigging then the model gets a default bind skin properly.However when we try to paint skin weights it starts behaving erratic after some time.I feel this could be due to the multi uv set feature.Is there a solution to work around this?
if I'm able to save some variables into current DWG?I would like to provide availability for user to save some data which is different for each DWG file.
I have a large list of custom colors in Excel that has the color name and CMYK breakdown of each color. I'm looking for a way to import this information to create a custom Color Swatch Library. That will have the name of the color and the CMYK breakdown. So that I can easily use in Illustrator and Photoshop. Is there any way or application in doing this with out manually entering the information and creating a new library?
When you select a linked image on the artboard you should have the option to " Create a Linked File variable: Select a linked file and click the Make Object Dynamic button in the Variables panel." That is right out of the Adobe Illustrator reference. When I select linked files the button to make object dynamic is greyed out.I see no other way to continue(CS6) also reading about similar problems in (CS5).
Regarding the conversion of an excel sheet into Illustrator variables... I am able to import an excel sheet into Illustrator datasets. I am curious if it is possible to link the excel file to the Illustrator data sets, so that when I alter something within the excel sheet, the data sets automatically change. Is this possible? Or must I always freshly convert/import the excel file?
is there a way to clear all stored variables in ES? I could set them to null at end of script, but this would be really annoying. Sometimes I just need to write some quick ditry code and don't want to worry about clearing them.
I have an XML file containing a number of data-sets each consisting of a number of text variables which I want to use to create a deck of trading cards. Each trading card consists of a Text Field for the title of the card and a number of icons, which are instances of various Symbols
I have written a script to create each card and i can load the variables into my javascript using: newCard.importVariables(new File(xmlPath));I now need to access the data in the datasets in order to populate the card.
To provide some context, this is an image of one of the cards with placeholder art.
am having an Issue with CS6 when saving files. When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size. This is causing issues with the Process we work with as we need the file to stay at the artboard size.If I click 'Save As' and change the Adobe PDF Preset to 'Press Quality' then this works, however this means that every file we save(which is quite alot in a day) means we have to go through the 'Save As' option and manually change each save.why this has suddenly started to happen with our Illustrators and do you know how to fix this so that it stays at the Artboard size when 'Save' is used?
