I have a map of town area, because i need to color some area (and use see through color) i needed to make this in autocad 2011, because in 2004 i cant do this. Ok, but when i want to make an image (dwg to jpg) it looses transparency??
How can i just paint one area of map, make it transparency (see through) and than save it as an image file (jpg, png or whatever).
I have a small raster image (png) xrefed to an Autocad 2012 dwg. The image is on its own layer and the transparency of the layer is set to 60%.
When I select TPY the image displays correctly on the screen (i.e. semi-transparent). When I tick Plot transparency in the Plot dialog box and send the plot to our HP Designjet 800 the raster image prints exactly as I want (semi-transparent).
However when I use the Autodesk pdf writer (Dwg to pdf) the resulting pdf does not have the semi transparent appearance and the raster image appears in all its brilliant color even though it displays correctly (i.e. semi-transparent) in Print Preview. And, yes, I have ticked the Plot transparency box before seeing it to the pdf writer. Other autocad entities such as plines which are semi transparent are fine, its only the raster image that seems to lose its semi-transparent quality.
Can I set to zero trasparency of image, text in Autocad 2012? How can I do it?

However the After Effects image looks pixilated. I am still new to both programs. Attached are two images, one from After Effects and the other from Illustrator.

When I run SAVEAS in AutoCAD, I browse for the respective file using the shortcuts folder. However, the file name is now changing to the name of the shortcut folder. For example, a file is named PreliminaryPlat.dwg. I want to SAVEAS PreliminaryPlat.dwg in P:/111-05-02/Plats. Rather than go through hundreds of folders in the P:/ drive, I click on a shortcut in a FOLDER on my desktop for P:/111-05-02/Plats. When I run the SAVEAS in AutoCAD, the window is prompting me to save the drawing as P:/111-05-02/Plats. I found this error happens when I SAVEAS using a folder shortcut.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen i use standard Acad-functions or even simply select an object like a polyline from land-survey,the "ribbon" changes to the corresponding Topic of the object,and the Map3D window looses its focus. (normal windows-mouse-cursor is displayed, not the AutoCAD crosshair). After clicking in Map 3D window again, crosshair reappears,and work can continue.
It doesn't matter if Map3d-windows is in windowed mode or fullscreen,it also doesn't matter if the windows is only on one of my 2 monitors or on both.
didn't have this problems using Topobase Client 2009,2010,2011...but since 2012 few problems evolved... (drawing-order-bug, memory-leak problem etc. etc.)
Inventor Pro 2010, XP Pro SP3, Compaq nw9440 laptop with NVIDIA FX 1500 VIDEO. why tools added to Quick Access Toolbar will disappear. they were here yesterday, gone today. I've reset them to see if I can duplicate the problem.

I'm having problems with creating PDF's and transparency hatching using DWG to PDF.pc3.
The PDF does show transparency but has a fine lined pattern at intervals in the hatched area, it does print just fine though with no evidence of the lined pattern. Only problem is most of our work is supplied as high quality PDF.
I prefer to use DWG to PDF.pc3 due to the excellent quality of the PDF. I have played with modified Adobe PDF.pc3 to mostly remove the lines from the hatch but quality suffers in the bitmapping of the document.
I am using AutoCAD Map3D 2011 and AutoCAD 2011 on a windows 7 boxes and Acrobat X Pro. I get this problem with normal solid hatching and SHP file polygon transparency.Â
Are they any secret/magic settings to fix solid hatch transparency using DWG to PDF.pc3?
I'm using Autocad 2012. I've created a 3D model, one of the components of the solids model, I've assigned a transparency value t which appears in the model, and in the orthographic layout view, and plotted as I need and expect it to. The problem I'm having is that in other layout views, other components include a Dots hatch (I've inserted this dots hatch pattern in both paper and model space in attempt to fix the problem). This Dots hatch appears as I need and expect on the computer screen, but when I plot the layout drawing this hatch pattern plots transparent too, even though it resides on completely different layer than the solid component that I do want transparent. I want the hatch pattern to plot opaque, not transparent (in other words the dots appear very, very light....almost invisible when I plot).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a drawing (check in attachment), I change the transparency with different values and I can see the changes I made just in 2D Wire frame Style, when I change in conceptual style it's appear as the transparency value from the layer dialog box is 0, for all values that I modify I don't see no changes.Â
The transparency button is active. One sample from the drawing is in attachment.
With transparencydisplay=1 I create hatch with transparency (for example) 80%, I save file and I close it. When I re-open the same file hatch have transparency 0%. What's the problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem getting PDFs to plot when I have plot transparency on.
I use the dwg to pdf plot function and with plot transparency on... my hatches work perfectly but my PDFs appears very much screened. (As a 50% or more screen would look) If I turn off the plot transparency, the pdf works perfectly but of course my hatch shades obliterate any line work beneath them.
 I was able to convert the PDF to a .tiff, with a graphics program... increase the resolution to 600dpi and use imageattach to bring that in. But it is an extra step for each insert and increased dpi = increased file size.
Other than increasing the resolution on the PDF, any way around this "screening" issue on PDFs when plotting with transparency on?
I know that I can assign transparency to an element (even to an entire layer). But is it possible to apply transparency to an element on a GRADIENT basis? In the following image, I'd like to have the portion between the outer boundary of the gray shape and the red shape become more and more transparent. So that at the outer edge, you'd see NOTHING below the gray shape--but the closer you get to the red shape, the more you'd see through the gray shape.

With a new HP T 7100 Plotter I can not plot bigger sizes than A0 with transparencies. Installed is the HP-GL2 and the PS Plotterdriver. I can plot from AutoCAD normal plans till a sizeformat of A0 with trasnsparencies, but with oversizes there is no plot. Plans without Transparencies can be plottet and I can plot from other programs all plans even with Transparencies. As a landscape architect I want to use the transparency on bigger plans.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with my PScs6 wherein the layered doc I am working on looses it's link to the source file within the smart object "container" layers refering to it. I opened up a saved version from timemachine and the same thing happened. At the same time ALL the masks all went nuts and presented with lined artifacts instead of white (in the case of adjustment clipped layers to the smart object. The original file was not moved to a new location or deleted. I closed PS6 and reopened to find the problem did not go away. It started when I used the rotate tool to do some fine work on the smart object's mask with brush and wand. I was using the fill command to fill the wanded areas in the mask. I believe it was a problem with the rotate tool because it became more and more jerky and resizing over 100% caused the image within the smart object to dissappear on all layers using that source image in the doc. PS6 has been buggy and crashing more frequently recently in general, especially after using plugins that have worked flawlessly for years. I run a macbook pro with snow leopard. 10.6.8

this one show the smart object now emptied of it's source image after using the rotate (R) tool for a while and zooming in over 100%..this one shows the mask artifacts (on the topmost "wash" layer mask) that also developed after using the rotate (R) tool for a while and zooming in over 100%.

The lineweight is a half of the original. I think i have tried everything.
It shows correctly in the Plot Preview but when printed there are no dotted hatches and lines are much thinner.
I am creating an effect from a freeze video frame. The clip is of a Kite Boarder at the apex of his jump. I have cropped the boarder from the image saved it (so normal background but white where the boarder was) and vice versa (an image where the the boarder is visible and the background is white). I wish to make the white areas in each image transparent.
Sounds really easy (and it probably is) but when I load up the images in ImageReady I see the "Transparent" checkbox ticked but I cannot select the colour white as the Matte (it's greyed out). Nor can I select the transparent icon from the color table. Consequently when I save as 24-bit png it doesn't have the white bits as being transparent.
How do I make those white areas transparent (and exportable in png format)?
I've created an image which you can view as attached.
The problem is when I place it on to a background in a webpage it appears all jaggedy, with white outlines.
This is just plain white text created in photoshop, no fancy shadow effects or anything like that.
The settings when I'm saving are:
Perceptual
GIF (no preset)
No Dither
256 colors
Lossy:0
Web Snap:0%
I’ve got an psd image on a transparent background that is 25mb that I want to place in an indesign document. I selected this image with the lasso tool from an original and placed it on a transparent background. this image is way too big while the original is only 4.7mb.is there an alternative way to reduce the file size while retaining the 300 dpi and transparency?

I tried to add a mask to my layer with a gradient [blanc to white] in it, in photoshop it gave the result I wanted, but when I save it as a PNG, the transparency is just not working like in photoshop. (Assuming I use it as an image in a website)
I tried to remove the contour thing, and photoshop see's only two colors [000000 and transparency] so when I open it in a browser, there is simply nothing. If I add a white background for exemple, the image will work, but I need the image to be really transparent so it can merge with my web background.
