Why when I switch to ISO view I see a section cut and/or some of the layers are not visible?Then sometimes when I switch back to plan view I can't see all of my layers even though they are all on. I have to close the drawing and re-open.
View 7 RepliesI have a problem with one specific drawing where I have created a right viewport; however, if I double click in the port to enter model space, the viewport automatically changes to a top view. If the viewport is locked, no change to the view. This problem only exhibits itself in one drawing so it must be some setting that is drawing specific.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the Sheet Set Manager, in the Sheet List tab, if you click on the project name and Righ-Click and select Properties, you can see the file to be used as the Label Block for Views. It appears that there can be only one block chosen.
I would like on our Enlarged Plan drawings to use another block.I made a subset for these Enlarged Plans, but Right-Clicking on it does not offer a place to specify a different block.
Is there anyway to have a different block for a subset of drawing?
I have a 3d object located in model space and have opened up a view port in paper space to view the object. Now I have set up everything as I want this includes several other view ports not showing the 3d object. my problem is that I can use the hide command in the view port containing the 3d object and get the image I want. However switching tabs or doing just about anything causes the 3d object in the view port to revert back to wire frame. Is there a way to lock just the one view port with hide mode on without effecting the rest of the view ports?

Also, my other problem is when i put on realistic view, i m seeing grey-ish blocks instead of "real" materials. In my previous assignment, I did see the "Real" materials when i set it on realistic view. However i did try to reset to default for my realistic veiw, but still it did not seem to be working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received a drawing that has a layout with multiple mviews in it. There is a light grey grid showing in the layout, that I can't make disappear. Grid on / off command has no effect. Really it doesn't matter if the grid is showing, but it's so annoying! Creating a new layout would fix the problem, but is there an easier way to get rid of the grid?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in paper space I sometimes double click in my viewport. Then the viewport becomes my whole window. How do I get out of the viewport without doing an undo until I reach where I first began?
Also sometimes when I double click in the viewport, but the viewport is the only thing visible in the screen, (vs having the whole sheet and being able to click out) I don't know how to get out without Undo.
I have observed that I don't have the "Drawing View Panel" under the Annonate Tab. Try to right on the Annonate tab and go to show panels but the Drawing View panel is not on the list. How to add the Drawing View Panel?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a couple of models (all using the same "stage" for rendering) and I split the models up into their own separate dwgs but retaining the stage area for each. What I'm having an issue with is rendering the current view in model space. What's happening is that I'll either get an all black (meaning nothing was rendered) or I'll get a rendered piece of the stage where a model once was set up, but not the current view for which I want (where the model is set now). So basically, the rendered view is pointing somewhere else. I'm not setting any of the camera views however to render; I've been using just the current view so I can get exactly what I want. I just need to figure out "how" to get it to render what I'm seeing on screen (consistently) and not something off to the side, or a shot of the wall or floor, or the old location of previous renders, etc. Sometimes switching back to 2D wire frame will fix the problem, but now it's not. I've tried setting the camera view current and that isn't working either. It still renders what was an "old" rendered view--like it's stuck in memory. Closing and re-opening CAD doesn't fix the issue. This is very frustrating. All I'm trying to get is a WYSIWYG rendered view.

Now, every time I open up a .dwg through explorer, True View overrules AutoCAD and thinks it has to be the one to open the file. Is there any way to turn this program off?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in ISO view and chose anything other than wireframe, like "Realistic" panning and zooming are very slow. Even a smaller drawing does not act normal. I use a 3rd party software for modeling ductwork and piping, the drawings work fine on our other machine, so it's not the modeling software. It's also not the drawing file, I have tried other drawings that I had no past issues with but it still bogs down.
I have tried the following:
Updated video driver.
Tried different settings under "Options" "Display" and "3D Performance"
Ran AutoCad repair.
Checked and turned off all snap settings and grid.

Intel Core i5 3.60 GHZ
16GB ram
Windows 7 Profesional 64 bit

This is an AutoCAD 2011 related question about being unable to see under properties objects that I have attached to polylines in AutoCAD Map3D.
I have created an map3d .dwg that the polylines and points have attributes attached (objects). However, when I access the same file in plain AutoCAD nothing appears under properties.
Is is a format, import settings tweak or simply it can not be done?
Are there places where I can find plan view furniture pieces for AutoCAD 2012? I have found some, but most are commercial. I'm looking for residential furniture like sofas, loveseats, and chairs in victorian era styles.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this problem with my drawing. before I decided to post here, I first ask mr. google about the problem but to no avail. anyway, here's my problem:
I have this drawing. 3d object. with multiple items. and would like to create a 2d detailed view of the items.
what i did was isolate the first item and did the base view command. after the command, I then hid the first item and isolate again the second item. but then I always get this pop-up menu that says "A model has changed" and my item is missing. I ignored the warning and poceeded with my second model and so, on. after the process I unisolated all my items and most of the drawings are there and some are lost. Is there a proper way of doing this base view for multiple objects without disrupting the previous drawing that I objects?
The problem is: the view cube doesn't respond and the navigation pane/tool/group doesn't respond either. If i click on any of the tools it doesn't register in the command line.
The view cube stops working after some amount of time (or clicks) regardless of what I've been doing. If I switch to another drawing the view cube works fine there. If I close the (not working) drawing and open again it works fine.

I'm trying to create something great VLISP app that extracts an attribute and vertices for each instance of a selected block and creates a model view based on those inputs. This is my first attempt at a VLISP app.
Let's say there's a drawing populated with a block that has multiple visibility states for different size viewports and an attribute to label your sheet number. Once they are laid out, you run this app and it prompts you to select the "viewport block" that is placed. The app extracts the block name and for each instance it extracts the attribute name (sheet number) and vertices of the extents for the viewport. You will need to add the insertion point to the vertices, so that will have to be extracted as well. The app will then run the VIEW command to make a model view with the extracted data from each block.
When I place an Inventor 2012 part into an AutoCAD 2012 layout, the drawing view fails to update after a change is made to the Inventor file. When I click "Update View" in AutoCAD the command line says, "1 view(s) is up to date.", but the drawing does not change. Both the AutoCAD drawing and the Inventor part file are located on a server drive which is mapped as a network drive. AutoCAD displays the correct path in the drawing view properties. Running Windows 7 x64.

I am having a problem with a view being shown rendered.
I have a tall piece of material handling equipment that is drawn to scale and is approximately 30' tall. When I render the view and take a shot of it, it looks angled based on the camera angle, when in reality it should appear straight (see attached picture).
How do I get this to look correctly?
I've struggled with the old issue of shifting images in rotated viewports. We use georeferenced aerial photography by way of these images inserted into their own drawing and then Xreffed into another drawing for printing. The issue is, the image appears shifted in some viewports. Most of the time it prints fine but not always. I searched the discussion groups and found a post a few years ago that a reply user stumbled across a quasi workaround. When the view command's Perspective is turned on and then off within the viewport, the image appears to be locked in it's correct position, not shifted. I have successfully used this procedure several times over the years until now. I have half a dozen drawings that when I turn the Perspective on and then off in a viewport, the image will not display. The xref is loaded and the layer is turned on in the viewport but the image doesn't show. What is the perspective portion of the view command within a viewport?

I really really would like to know if it is possible to switch back to the classic view with the old tool bars and commands.
