View 3 RepliesIs there a simple way to export points from the three different axis in a .dxf file for three different views (top, side and front) in autocad 2012? I need to export the points in to excel to run a macro in CATIA to create the surface of an aircraft. I got the .dxf file from the boeing website [URL]....
View 0 Replies View RelatedI am really struggling with this and I am not sure why. I simpy want to place a camera or create a view of a 3d drawing and plot a 2d elevation. I want to be able to clip the view to only show that object.
Example: 3d duct drawing, duct risers, I want to pick on riser and arnage it on a viewport. I can get a camera placed but each time it defaults to a perspective view and when I change it to non-perspective the camera disapears.
So I setup a view but no matter what i do I cannot get the clipping to work correctly.
tutorial on createing 2d views of 3d drawings.
I don't want to use sectionplan or a live section the duct program I am using doesn't create actual cad style solids so that won't work.
I really can't beleive I cannot just select two points to determine the view direction and the apply it to the viewport. I have to be missing something.
I'm trying to print / plot a drawing which has a mixture of 2D plans and 2 3D views. I have the drawing set-up with viewports in paperspace. The objects in one of the 3D views prints perfectly, yet some of the linework from the second 3D view won't print.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDView commands. We're using layout drawings of sites that are aligned with True North.
We've been using DView to rotate site layouts within model space in order to to align the layout better within the window and set up icons as such. And we have multiple Sheets set up with different information being displayed (ie different layers turned off). But when we go to the sheets, the Paper Space view still shows it's Original Orientation.
What I'd like to know is there a simple way to set the various different layouts to the same as Model Space, Without having to manually DView each Viewport as well?
I'm working on a drawing that has some plan views that I need to keep.. but I would like to import views from another drawing.
Is there a way to copy views from another drawing? Would be nice if when you insert another drawing as a block, it would bring the views along, same way that it brings along blocks, layers, linetypes.. etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a prob with my system in that when I close a drawing with a 3d view in a viewport and reopen it, I lose the 3D view and it flattens out, maintaining the view but losing all perspective. I can easily restore the saved view, but it is bit irritating.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 images that I need to see on 2 diferent views. On one view I need to see image A over image B. On the other view I need to see image B over image A. When I do the display order, it reflects on both views, so I have the same order on both views.
How can I avoid this, so that I can see different display orders depending on the view?
I am usinf AutoCAD 2010.
I have a drawing with several views I've saved using the View Manager. Since creating the views, I have created some new layers. Now when I use View Manager to set an existing model space view current, the new layers are set to frozen. When I created the views, I un-checked the 'Save layer snapshot with view' checkbox.
I can thaw the new layers, then use the 'Update layers' button to correct this, but it's a hassle. Why is it freezig layers created after the view was created?
I'm teaching myself 3D from a textbook. The text gives an example of how to create a UCS that is located on a 3D example part from the CD that came with the book; this is done using the UCS command. It also shows how to use the viewport presets. I was able to move the UCS as needed around the part, I was able to use the viewport presets to look at the part from different sizes, but if I created a UCS and then used the preset views, the new UCS I created did not stay oriented, but instead appeared to default to the origin. But when I rotated the part with the mouse without using viewport presets, the UCS stayed put.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just down loaded some commercially available 3D models needed for some presentation work.
I would like to turn these into 2D orthographic views, without the polymesh, is this possible.
File formats downloaded are .fbx .lwo .max .obj .xsi
the polymesh converter in autocad did not work.
Can the Plot command be used to combine multiple drawing views into a single DWF file?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set the sort order in Sheet Set Manager for the Model Views tab? Seems like a few releases ago it was alphabetical - now its random and almost impossible to locate a specific drawing in a large project.
Tried changing MAXSORT and it did not have an effect.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a script that allows me to export custom views (created via "View > New View") into separate png files.
I've already found some great scripts that export Layers or Artboards but nothing for Views.
It seems Illustrator's "Views" are the closest equivalent to Photoshop's Layer Comps.
Im working with Autocad 2012, havent done much with 3-d modeling. I have a model drawn and I simply want to print it with the top, front, right and an iso view on one piece of paper.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a second base view (using Layout/Create View/Base from model space). The problem is, I need it to be rotated from the original base view. However, when I rotate the part in model space, ALL of my views change.
So I guess my question is, how do I create multiple views of the same part that are seperate from the other base views?
i have views lets say 3 views on a sheet but in the list of views theres mores that appears maybe i inserted the extra views that are showing but i deleted them to put them on another sheet

We would like to make the transparency of glass-materials visible in views and section-views by using the "realistic style". During a 3d-view our glass-material looks like transparent. Isn't it possible for REVIT to display the transparency of materials in views ?
The workaround to hide "glass" by using "overriding visibility" is not possible for us because some of our families and project families are using glass-materials inside (Showcases f.e.).

Since the end of Aug. 2012 I've been making families for a manufacturer. I left Friday evening with good families. This morning I am finding all the families I checked with a problem.
When I move the cursor across the various views it doubles the views. Rolling the mouse wheel one click either way to zoom in or out cleans the view but on the next time the cursor goes across the view it doubles it again. Now there are 4 views overlapping each other. The next time it is possibly 8, and so on. It is difficult to count them because they are overlapping but it looks like they are doubling each time.
The software is Revit Architecture 2011 and the computer is a Dell Precision T3500.Are the families corrupted or is it the computer? Is there a toggle I hit that I shouldn't have?
I have a 3d drawing (2010 CAD) that I am trying export as a IAM, IPT, or STP so I can open it for Inventor and then print out on the 3d printer. I know I can open it in Inventor but I dont have it and the person that is to receave the file wants it in this format.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked through some of the other threads but haven't seen a good or easy answer for this one. We export our DWG's to PDF and it keeps all the layers that are on. Is it possible to export the DWG to PDF and have the PDF show layers that were turned off in the PDF? Our drawing are easily changed to include beveled glass or a raised panel, some customers want this while others don't, we currently have to create a seperate DWG for each version of this. We'd like to prodce the DWG to PDF, and in the PDF have the option of turning on the layers.

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen exporting drawings to pdf, i get pixilated images of my drawings. though not all of the items are pixilated. the ones that are pixilated are the items in the viewport with conceptual visual style and SE view.
i tried scaling the linetypes but nothing happens,i really dont have any clue on this one. by the way the other items are made by "solid view procedure"
i also tried the solid profile but the drawing has many broken lines. so I wanted only to have a isometric view of the item as a overview.
I would like to know if it is possible to export or save as an ASPAN extension or file. How I might be able to do that rather than open Autocad file in ASPAN.?
