Ram preview won't work all of the sudden. AE is super slow the last few days also.
Last time deleted my system preferences somehow deep within the sub structure of on my Mac Pro and it fixed it.
OSx 10.8.4
2 x 2.66 Ghz 6-core Intel Xeon
32 GB 1333
NVIDIA Quadro K5000 4096 MB
AE 11.0.2.11
I upgraded to a new MB & CPU. The CPU is 3.20 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X4 955 quad core. Do I need to to anything in the preferences to get full use of the new setup?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Adobe Illustrator 15.0.2 (CS5) on my iMac which is running Mavericks (OS 10.9.1). In the past, I've simply trashed my plist files in my user's Library's Preferences folder. I did this and it doesn't seem to work. I'm not computer savey enought to do any programming work without very clear instructions. I see that people have talked about the difficulty with doing such things in Mavericks.

I am working my way through the lessons in Classroom In a Book for Illustrator, and you are asked to delete the current preferences prior to starting each lesson (this ensures the panels, etc, work in accordance with the text). I use a Mac with Lion as my operating system and, as instructed, went to my Library folder to find the "Adobe Illustrator CS6 Settings/en_US" file, yet it is nowhere to be found. I have saved files (which should result in the creation of a preference file) and closed and re-opened Illustrator. Nothing seems to be working and/or produce the preference file.

I have deleted 200 bad files and the never showed up in the trash. I have been trying to clear up some disk space but the available disk still shows the same so I know they haven't been deleted. Until yesterday I was able to delete pictures, using the contextual menu or the delete key. I got the message asking me if I wanted to delete them from disk or from the catalog.
But now, that popup message doesn't appear. The picture is not removed, just nothing happens.
I checked the logs and this is the error message:
performCommandDesc could not perform command ag.library.expandAllStacks (Command was disabled.).
I uninstalled LR moving it to the trash. Then I deleted the com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist and I also removed the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.
I rebbooted the machine and installed it again. But the issue is still there, with the same error message.
I verified the disk and checked file permissions.
I also tried to use another catalog from a backup.
Nothing, same error.
One anusual thing that I did before the error was to install the "HDRsoft Merge to 32-bit HDR Plug-in for Lightroom - Version 1.0"
I removed it but the error was still there. After the re-install I didnd't install that plug-in again so if it was the problem, it shouldn't be after the clean installation that I did again.

When I try to click on a point with the Delete Anchor Point Tool nothing happens however I am able to select the point using the Direct Selection Tool and then remove it using the "Remove selected anchor points" option in the Control palette. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created keyframes from audio file and used them to generate some effect, all works fine, it is amazing how easy it is However, I would like to generate flash (?) so that these effects would be dynamic to different audio files after export.
What I want is basically to create effects that can be used in life event to the streaming music.
After intalling Premiere pro CS6 and After effects CS6, I installed add-ons for these programs (newblue, boris, prodad...). When I open After Effects it gives me 38 cases of effects (Detail Enhancer, noise Reducer...) redundant in other programs, telling me to get rid of them.
When I check these effects in my programs, they are mainly .aex files, located in Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe Common Plug-ins, NewBlue Video effects collections 1 to 6. Some of them also exist in avid /pinnacle studio programs (my former video tools I still use to close previous video projects) before concentrating in Adobe CS6 suite. I don't know what to remove in a safe way. Premiere pro CS6 doesn't worry about redundancies ! Only After Effects...
Specifically the Boris Continuum plugins. I get this error:
Seems to happen for really no reason, even if I apply the effect and let the comp sit idle, it hapens after a minute or so.

I have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.
There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.
Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.
P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.
When saving a .PNG file in Photoshop CS5 the only option that appears is Interlace (None / Interlaced). Is there any other preferences that could be set (e.g. the compression level)?

I don't see Preferences in any Adobe subfolder to remove it, so I'm assuming that they are not being deleted for the "lessons"
I have deleted CS2 and installed CS4.How can I use my preferences from CS2? I hate the thought of trying to reconstruct my actions, function keys, menu colors, etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm getting the same error on a project. Originally created in CC/Mac, down converted to CS6/PC (I don't yet have the exact version release). The sequence is 10 layers deep, and throws this error if we try to preview. If 8 of the 10 layers are turned off, then the sequence will preview as normal. So, is this a bug and is there a CS 6 version release that fixes this, or am I looking to reallocate RAM?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.
How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
