3ds Max :: How To Use Type In Transform Tool In Unwrap Edit Window
Oct 20, 2011
Is there a function, script or way to use the type-in transform tool in the unwrap edit window? I know there was a script (Unwrap Tools 1.6) a few years ago I used with 2009 but you had to overwrite max's default unwrap edit window, and I don't want to do that. I'm using 2012 design now
At some point, several months ago, my sister and I were playing with transform (by phone, we are in different states) -- she had taken a Photoshop class and wanted to try to duplicate something. Â I tried using my type tool yesterday, and couldn't see anything when I typed. (White background, black text, Arial, 14 pt, 100%). I've tried clearing type presets. I finally tried blowing it up to 500% and saw a small, gray font-like image where I was typing.
I held down Ctrl and played with the transform box: if I expanded the box, my text is there. I've tried clicking on everything at the top when in transform. How to get my type tool entering text in the regular way.
Having issue with the Unwrap UVW tool. When I open up the UV Editor and try to edit a texture using Freeform Mode I'm unable to grab the handles without the tool attempting to use rotating mode. I don't want to rotate the texture, I want to grab a handle and stretch the texture either vertically or horizontally.
Additionally, when hovering the mouse over other handles, the tool goes into Scaling mode. After trying different options, including turning off and on Real World Map Size and Generate Mapping Coordinates, the Freeform Mode tool continues to be stubborn defaulting to Rotation and Scaling mode only. I'm starting to believe the tool is broken .
I am just starting out with the Photoshop CS5 trial. I am trying to apply a triangular pattern to a thin rectangular shape. I used the custom shape tool>triangle, then defined the pattern successfully. However, when I apply the pattern it partially repeats it along the vertical as well as the horizontal axis. Please see attached screenshot: Â I only want it to repeat horizontally, what am I doing wrong? Â Also, I am Fireworks CS5 user and am really missing the properties inspector panel which allows you to quickly and esily edit sizes of objects, is there a Photoshop equivalent of this?........at the moment the only way I can find to edit objects is through Edit>Free Transform.
I just downloaded de Maya 2013 bonus tools, and when I use the auto unwrap tool, the buttons that used to cut, select, continue even cancel dont show; but the "click area" still works, the problem is to find it
In Maya 2012, this plugin works fine unfortunately I dont have access to that version anymore.
resizing objects by changing the width and height values in the Transform window, while keeping the proportions of the object? When I try this in CS6, the proportions of the object gets totally botched. Â This is what I do:
1. Draw a straight line that is rotated some 30-40°. 2. Select the line and click in the W: or H: fields in the Transform window. 3. Make sure that the "Constrain Width and Height Proportions" button is selected. 4. Press and hold the up arrow key on the keyboard. 5. Watch how the line is rotated as it is scaled.  I notice that while I'm pressing the up or down keys, the number in the selected width or height field is incremented nicely (21 mm, 22 mm, 23 mm, 24 mm, etc.), but when I release the key, it is adjusted to a seemingly random number (for example 24 mm -> 24.168 mm). If I switch between pressing up and down for some time, the adjustment can be even more random (24 mm -> 58,944 mm).  I recently upgraded from CS3 where this type of scaling worked flawlessly. I'm using a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.5.
I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?
I want to create text on a circle path, so drew the circle, went to the "type on a path tool" and clicked on the circle. I keep getting the message "can't create type". I have tried to use the direct selection tool to select the circle first and without the direct selection.
My Type Tool does not select type by double clicking or click and drag. (Windows CS 5 V15.1). This is what I have tried so far and the problem still exists. Â Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it. Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it. Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.
I've been experiencing this a lot more lately, and I've yet to find the one discerning aspect of my project that keeps the EDIT > TRANSFORM option from being usable.
Often I'll make a selection with the LASSO or SELECTION tool, it'll be on a layer where the selection encompasses an object (that is not vector), and it's not a selection of the entire canvas (like a CTRL + A). I'll goto EDIT and notice that TRANSFORM is greyed out. The image is in RGB mode, and I'll deselect, make the selection again and STILL not be able to select it.
Are there other things which can prevent that option from being enabled that I'm not thinking of? The layer is not locked and it isn't the background either.
Oh, also, without making a new thread, is it possible to move an anchor while you're drawing with the PEN tool? I thought you could hold SPACEBAR to move it before you released the mouse click, but I just end up having to use the SUBSELECT tool to move the anchors after it's drawn.
Working on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck. Â By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.
My digital camera has a tendency to distort as the image nears the outside of the frame. Is there a photoshop function that can correct this? I have tried the Transform functions (skew, distort, etc), and correcting half of the image is easy by dragging the corner grips away from the center to stretch the image, but, when I go to the opposite end of each given side, the distortion returns. The problem is the grip at the midpoint on each side moves with the rest of the side when using this feature. Is there a transform feature or other command that does something similar, but the midpoint grips stay stationary, basically taking the rectangular shape of the image and making it into an hourglass or four pointed star?
I am trying to design a dvd sleeve using only photoshop. I have several photos on several layers that need to be sized the same and I have been using the info/navigator tool as a guide. I notice that after transforming the scale my photo loses sharpness and when I enlarge it is pixelated. I must be losing pixels/information when I transform the scale of the photos- the more I transform, the more I lose detail.
I don't have this! I've been following some tutorials and the one's that i like all have this step in them. Prob is that when i go to try it warp is not there. I'm not sure if maybe it's a plug in.
The problem I am having is that every single file I open looks like this. Once I click transform (which I have to) the layer no longer allows me to click and edit the layer. I like to re-size my images in relation to the multiple images I place on a document. My previous version of photoshop did not create a transform box with each new file. How can I adjust photoshop so that it doesn't do this. I am using CS5 on a PC.
I would like to do an edit / free transform to resize a layer in my image. I want to do this WHILE LOOKING AT a round path that I have created.
No problem in photoshop 7 , just turn on the path, select the image layer that I want to resize, edit/free transform and I can shrink the image while looking at the circular path to see how the image fits within the path.
I'm creating a flow chart/decision tree. I am animating the position of a diagram on the stage when a user selects yes or no in answer to a series of questions. Â I've split up each diagram movement on the stage timeline as labels. I've staggered these transforms as keyframes on the same layer/track. The issue I'm having is when I manipulate the position of my diagram by moving it on the stage it affects adjacent transforms. I have my transforms seperated with a 1/10 second gap becuase I thought this would split the timeline up but it appears not!
While I can edit the transforms manually by typing in xy co-ordinates it would be ten times faster to move the diagram on the stage instead and not overwrite adjacent transforms. Â How do I restrict the transform to the two keyframe points I am concerned with?
the type tool won't let me insert any type whatsoever in JPG or PSD files. I click the type tool and then click somewhere on the image and all it gives me is a dot but no flashing cursor. As I said, resetting my prefs/settings while starting up Photoshop did not help. Another weird thing it does is that when I go to Canvas Size for a medium sized image, it says that the width is 588 inches and the height is 288 inches.
I would like to add different materials in Family type window (value column drop down). How to attain this? Â How to create/use shared parameters for linking data through .txt file? If possible replay with images, that will be useful to understand.
In CS5 if I choose the either the Transform or Free Transform tools (having created a new layer for the image) I get an error message saying ‘could not transform because the initial bounding rectangle is empty’.
I’ve used the Transform tool successfully in the past and have checked through the Adobe instructions carefully (there isn’t much to them really) and I cannot see what’s wrong.
I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.Â
I have one problem. I'm using transform tool to scale part of image, but it doesn't look good. Maybe I should use liqify tool but I really don't like it. Here is example of how it looks, at the top left corner of this site [URL]....
Recently Photoshop CS6 crashes when I attempt to use the Free Transform Tool through the shortcut (Ctrl+T). Â It also crashes very often when using any of the free transform/transform tools via the menu as well, though not as often as the previous listed situation.
I just installed CS6 last night on my laptop and I was super excited to use it..As I was about to edit a picture, I pressed the Ctrl+T... next thing you know, photoshop cs6 just crashes. My OS is Windows 8, photoshop cs6 64-bit, it's the latest version too!.
