I am doing a tutorial about an apartment and i cant copy the border holding the shift key.The tutorial says "Delete the polygon resulted from connecting the edges in previous step. Select the Border and holding down Shift copy it to create a thickness for the window."What is the command to copy it?it must be done like in the pic i put here.

in this video he uses holding shift and drag the edge to duplicate/copy the shape but when i want for example create a box,convert to editable poly and select edge and holding shift and drag it not working for me.i remove the face and use only the edges and it works but on that video  he has 3d shape and not remove the face! i have 3ds max 2013.
When we hold Shift while painting with the brush or pencil tool the stroke is constrained to a 180, 90 or 45 degree angle.

ever since CS4, when we do this, a faint brush line appears to connect the end of the first stroke with the beginning of the next creating all sorts of unwanted effects. This happens regardless of where we make the next stroke.

The only way of not having this happen is to keep reselecting the brush tool (keyboard shortcut B) after each stroke. When there are many lines to draw, doing this creates unnecessary delay in workflow.
I'm trying to use it instead of my photoshop «not very legal» version.
There is a feature I really like in Photoshop and GIMP which is the ability to draw a line using pen/brush/eraser/any tool using the SHIFT modifier key. This really miss me in Paint.NET. You click somewhere, you move the cursor elsewhere, holding SHIFT you click again, and (using the tool you currently have selected) a perfect line is drawn between the two points.

When creating vector shapes and holding shift the shape do not snap to pixel. Snap to pixels is turned on. Initially when do not hold shift shapes is pixel perfect. As you can see in the image first 2 shapes are made free hand.
Is there a system variable for holding down shift and picking multiples?
When picking multiples files, to bring in xrefs, I can pick them, but some of the other in the office can not, it want let them pick more then one file at a time.
I use Photoshop 7 & do a lot of cleanup of bitmap/tiff images, such a logos & symbols that need cleaning up around the edges etc. Holding the shift down while drawing with a brush in eraser, etc. mode creates a straight horizontal line & that makes cleaning a horizontal edge easy & quick.
Is there any keystroke combinations that will draw a perfectly straight vertical line?
I recently upgraded to CC from CS5. I work on objects that have multiple elements. Since I am on CC, I am running into an annoying problem. When I copy paste an object with multiple elements, or command/option/shift + drag the object, the various elements shift in z-order.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis this possible. A lot of programs auto-duplicate when you drag and press either the shift or ctrl or alt key. Its a habit ive gotten pretty into. Plus, its a little akward for me to go from a left click immeadeitaly into a right click with the mouse. I always feel like i've dragged the object a little bit when I switch fingers. it would be great to just add a hot key of shift+drag to this feature, wouldnt even have to turn off the standard right click option, I could deal with both being there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I adjust the hue and saturation on a image (big adjustments like + 60 on sat, + 10 on hue) and click OK the colors revert back to about 15%, or less, of what I raised them to.
1. This only happens on a particular image that I scanned in.
2. This did not happen on the first few prints of this image (didn’t save settings, etc., so I had to redo the next time - a few days later). And it doesn't happen on any of my other images (non-scans).
I've tried reloading it from the CD that I burned and starting over, but it does the same thing.
(Using Photoshop 7 and trying to print with an Epson 2200.)
When creating a new layer and holding ALT I do not get the dialog box to appear the new layer is just created. I've tried to reset my preference twice and this has not work.Â

Specifically, an image appearing to be correctly exposed after adjustments and while still in Lightroom 4, appears brighter and lacking in shadow adjustments on Export and uploading to facebook. My guess is that shadow adjustments have been lost on Export?
I have read that you can use Time Remapping to hold the last frame of a png sequence so that you can create a pause between transitions, without importing the last frame or anything.

My entire animation (+/- 600 frames) has been rendered in 3D and imported as one sequence in AFX. I composite my highlights and shadows in a composition and called it Master. Then I made smaller compositions and placed the Master comp inside them and cut it up to size. I placed the separate sequences in a comp called Stage. So now I can just import one single sequence when I render again.

Now I am trying to let the last frame of the smaller sequences to hold for a few frames, before transitioning into the next. The Time Remapping just doesnt seem to work, because it is not holding anything when I move the last frame, it just shows the next part of the master animation.

Is there a way around this or do I need to import every sequence as a unique set?
I have a drawing that has a white background.
I would like to add more to the white background to make it bigger without having to stretch it and distort the image.
I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?
Per the attached exhibit, how to get the plot border to cover the entire sheet border instead of just the bottom left corner.

I have made labels in a project and have set the text alignment to "center", but when I switch to the other label, it does not remember my text setting, sets back to left justify. Happens on both labels. Each time I go from one label to the next it asks me to save, I do this, but center justify still does not save.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe transformation settings are changing every time a drawing is reopened.  The computation method is switching from "reference point" to "unity" - see attachment.  This is causing the software to use a scale factor of 1 instead of the computed scale factor at the defined reference point when scaling our points from state plane to our local ground system.  This completely screws up our entire survey workflow that we have been using for almost 2 years.  We had no issues like this in the 2012 or 2013 versions.

Holding a key modifies the fucntion of a macro.
Ie hold shift and run the macro and it does this, hold Crtl and it does this... etc.
A great way to make your macros multi functional.
I also lightly touch base on Option Explicit which makes variable declaration necessary.
I also quickly talk about If, Else, ElseIf conditionals and colors.

I am making the hands of a clock with tick marks held in a particular spot with an invisible bounding box. When I export as a png the bounding box disappears and all I have is the tick mark. Maybe a boundindg box isn't the correct description? I have made the hand using the rectangle shape with no fill and no line. The tick mark is contained within this space. But somehow when it is exported using png the invisible containment disappears. I need that to hold my tick mark in place as the hand goes around the clock.

My Mac PS CS5.5, vs. 12.1 is behaving strange when more than one photo is open. I don't like tabs, so I've turned that off in preferences. I need to have several photos open at once, and like to spread them over the desktop to see them all at the same time. When I click on one photo, the others are behaving erratically: some are changing to show the same photo I clicked on or part of it. It's as if each window is connected. How do I turn that off or otherwise fix the problem, so that I can view each individual photo and even make changes to it, without it effecting the other open photos?

This happens only in long lists when I deselect objects that are rather in top of the list. It then scrolls until the end of the list and I have to scroll up again for deselecting any further object. Can this be fixed?
Furthermore I would like to know if there is any way to select/deselect by a filter? For example: Deselect all objects that are of the type text or all curves that have a border.
I have structures and alignments data referenced. If I assign the structures ref alignments in the dwg with the data refs for labeling, the next time I open the dwg the ref alignments are set back to none, causing the labels to be ?

When cutting video shots in sync with a music track how can I remove part of a clip and replace with a new shot. I know there is a replace clip facility but there appears to be no way of editing the new clip. What I would like to do is leave blanks in sync with the music and fill in correct length of shot later. The same question for overlaying video shots of an interview and holding sync when returning to interviewee.

when i use the ctrol+copy command, I get the "copy to clipboard failed". This has only started since I upgraded to AutoCAD2012.
I have a 3D file (not of my creation) that gives me some problems when I try to copy it (it is a 3D building).
The problem is that, when i click on "copy" command, I can select a point but then AutoCAD crashes and it takes about 30 seconds to return working a normal way and permit me to paste it. (it happens with "move" command too)
Otherwise, if I use "copy with base point" I have no problems: after a second I can paste it where I want.
How can it be possible? Cause if sometimes I mistake and digit "copy", I always have to wait the long Autocad response.
This problem happens with both autocad 2012 and 2013 and it doesn't happen with other 3D files I have. The drawing is made mainly of meshes.
I have a Dell notebook and a NVIDIA Quadro 2000M video card, so you can understand I don't like this problems: I spent a lot of money for something I hoped could work well with AutoCAD.Â
About that, aren't there drivers for the graphic card? Cause when I click on "check for updates", autocad says me that there are newer version of the driver, but then it says me that it is impossible to update it (I have a connession and a student version).
