I have problem with my max on laptop.Sometimes I don't want to use dedicated GPU because of battery live. So I'm using only integrated HD 4000 form my i7 CPU.Max works good. But I can't read any font in viewport.
I have PS Elements 10 for Mac. I've been trying to figure out why my text is not rendering properly. I type out a word and although caps lock is OFF, the text shows up in all caps. Also, the spacing between letters is wide. I've been trying to search through options, but can't find anything.
I have an on going issue with quite a few of my files. They look great in photoshop or when I save them as .jpg's or other images but when i save them as .pdf's (no matter the setting) the fonts render horribly showing only faint outlines and no fill. This is a major issue as I am sure you can see.
in any version of 3ds max to have an animation rendered as it looks like in the viewport. Without any render engine (scanline, mentalray etc...). So the exported avi looks exactly what i see in the viewport during editing.
3D Studio Max 9 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit RC Core 2 Duo 4600 @ 2,40 GHz, 2,40 GHz 4 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 9600GT 500 GB + 160 GB HDD
why i cannot change the color of the background when rendering? It is always black, and i cannot attached or make new material, if need to attach jpeg or new texture on my drawing, cannot create new material. what should i do? im currently using autocad for mac 2012.
I want to see "resent" fonts when choosing, be able to type letter to get down the list quickly, group similar fonts, etc. Maybe have a magnifying glass attached to cursor to see fonts better.... Why have this not been done?
never knew there has a font folder in the user profile for Gimp until I wiped my user profile and moved all patterns, gradients, brushes, etc I have been putting in the program folder to the user profile folder because I read on here that it is better to keep all that stuff in the user profile folder of Gimp... my question is, what is the difference between installing your fonts into the system and placing them into the fonts folder in Gimp (besides all programs being able to use them)?? I've been installing all my fonts into the system I wanna use in Gimp... is it better to use the font folder in the Gimp user profile or to install them into the system?
Problem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
how to get Gimp to only showfonts from the user/fonts file rather than the vast amount of system fonts.
I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.
Once I installed windows 7, while I WAS using PSE 9, I had the tiny font problem. I stopped using PSE for 2 years. I just installed PSE 11. Though better, the Font is still way smaller than I would like. Maybe it's just tougher for seniors? Can they not make the font adjustable? I was told there is no way to increase the size of the font?
I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.
I am wanting to insert a second viewport over an existing viewport and have the information in the existing viewport behind the second viewport and not seen. I want the second viewport boundary to be the "trimming" edge of the existing viewport. How do I do this?
I did a test drawing with 4 viewports in paperspace.I frozen a layer in each viewport (as a viewport override, not global), and wrote code to gather info on layer overrides in viewports. The function takes in a database, and is generally used on drawings only open in memory:
the odd thing is it never finds the frozen viewports on the first viewport. It catches the others fine.I cannot see anything odd either, the counts of viewports and layers are all correct, and the drawing has no problems. Is there something that must be done to initialize the mechanism that reads viewport overrides?
It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
I have put some new fonts into C:/windows/fonts and they have come up in other programs e.g. Microsoft office but they are not showing up in photoshop.
i am using vista home premium with SP1 and it is 32bit and photoshop cs4.
I just download a trail version of Adobe Photoshop CC and plainning to use Photoshop for all of my 3D works. My systems specs is AMD FX 6100 on the CPU side, NVida GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 8 gig of DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM and WD Black 1 TB and Window 8 64-bit.
when I use photoshop cc to render 3D text, I see that it use more of CPU power and the RAM don't even move.
i check these status using Logitech G510 gaming keyboard LED screen.
I understand 8 gig is more enough for gaming but for intensive task like 3D rendering, I heard that I need 12 gig or 16 gig. My motherboard support up to 32 gb but that will cuase more and thinking of upgrade to 16 gig of RAM. my motherboard only support 1333 mhz and I don't want to upgrade my motherboard.
I have Photoshop via Creative Clouds and it is great.Suddenly the 3d rendering looks different. Before it was some squeer boxes that appear on the screen and now they are dissapear and it is just one box with marching ants around it. How can I get it back?
So I made a house, and imported it into 3ds max. None of the materials that I applied in auto cad architecture using images, did not appear in 3ds max. So I tried adding bitmaps in 3ds max. the Problem is, when I add a bitmap in 3ds max, the material appears in the view-port, but when I render the material texture wont show. Only a color comes.
For example, I applied a grass bitmap image. When I render, instead of the grass texture appearing, only the color green appears.
I've been using 3D Max for a few years, but I never came across this problem before. I start to render and first 50 frames works fine, but after 50 something frames my laptops is turned off with no message or error or anything.
My laptop is a Dell XPS 8GB RAM i7-3520 @ 2,9 Ghz, it's Intel HD 4000 2GB and I'm using 64 bit windows 7.
I really do not under stand why the particles do not render. you can easily see that they are in the model. I am showing 10% in the view and rendering 100% yet when I render I get none at all.
I'm getting a totally black rendering using iray on an existing file that was created using mental ray. I've tried changing the exposure. Can I use iray with an existing file with arch and design mats?
I found that with max design 2013 a typical architectural scene would render in about 20 minutes using daylight system and final gather on my computer whereas a similar kind of scene i create in ..2014 takes hours (the buckets are smaller for some reason by the way ). The computer manager where i work retained the settings i had in ..2013 when he installed ..2014 and i am wondering if that has something to do with it. If so is it possible to successfully reinstall without retaining settings.
