I work in a MEP engineering office. Any good method for sharing their architectural drawings (when the architect is using Project Navigator)? We do not use project navigator, and we do not want stripped-down architectural files.
What we need from the architects is their bases, title block, and their floor plan sheet layouts. Asking for this from some architects is fine, but others send me mounds of files, and I have to dig through and sort for what I want.
I am using the trial version of Photoshop Elements 11.However, I can't send Raw files directly to Elements from Lightroom 4. Only PSD, Tiff or Jpegs.I have downloaded the latest camera Raw plug ins so both Elements and Lightroom have Camera Raw 7.3.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have created a lightroom 3 publish service that will export each photo as a huge TIFF file over a slow broadband connection to an external server. The external server creates 3 compressed JPEG files from the TIFF file.
I think this is too slow and that it would be much better if the lightroom publish service created those three files and then sent them over the internet. Please note I am using Mac OS X 10.8.5 and Lightroom 3.
My question is, what would be the best way to accomplish this task? Can lightroom compress the photo 3 times, or is it best to create another script on the local machine to accept each file, compress them, and then send them via the internet?
I'm new to Lightroom and was attempting to prepare a file to send to a print lab. I want to produce a large format single image with dimensions of 52" x 36". I've prepared this in the 'print' module but when I press 'print to file...' it warns me that the file is 760mb and I may run out of memory! Is this file to large to sent to a printer, how can I reduce the size of the file without reducing the quality of the print? or is this just a standard file size for a large format printed image?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with loading the paint layers on my object.
I created an object in another software and then imported it into Mudbox. Here I started painting the object, but when I close and re-open Mudbox I get the error: "Failed to load texture files both ... and ..." (my two paint layers). I had this same error two days ago on a similar object, when I moved only the ".mud" file to a different location, but then I realized I need to move also the ".bak" file and the folder containing the layers into that new location and the error was solved. This time, the .mud, .bak and the folder are all in the same location, they all have the same name but I still get the error. When I open Mudbox I just get my object as it was when I imported it, with no painting on it (even though the two paint layers appear in the "Layers" tab), and with the error mentioned above.
I thought i could "File Link" from mudbox 2011.fbx files to 3dsmax file link manager but no. i get some error. (Unable to Attach this file;the file may be missing, corrupted, or may not contain valid data)
Weird since these are both Autodesk products.
Where do you edit the paths of the recent files in the welcome screen for Mudbox (2013 SP3) ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes i get this error, when i send a new network job..3ds max Job Assignment Dialog
Error submitting job to manager.251 0 No group to list...Then i try to send it again and it works.
how to get these two to work together? The support specifically mentions CS3 working with it and even mentions that CS3 will use ACR 4.6. When I tell LR4 to open a RAW file produced by my Canon XSi in Photoshop, I get a message that "this version of LR may require camera raw 7.0 for full compatibility". Then I can choose "render using lightroom", "open anyway", or "cancel". If I choose "open anyway" it opens up Photoshop but nothing else happens.
Eventually after a few minutes LR4 starts telling me it couldn't open Photoshop (even though it "magically" opened it a few minutes earlier) and when I click off that error, it comes up again, then a new error saying it couldn't send the file to Photoshop. After clicking away that message it then proceeds to make a copy of the file as a .psd (which I did set up in the LR4 preferences for external editor) and it opens up.
In the Library module or Develop module, select the photo you want to edit. Then, choose Photo > Edit In Adobe Photoshop. If you’re opening a camera raw or DNG file in Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1) or later, it opens directly.
I've been trying to attach a CDR file from Corel to send in an email. The recipient can't open it. I've tried everything I can think of and still no success.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a few glitches with my system which I resolved but a casualty has been Corel Draw X5 which has always run perfectly well but I guess.I have tweaked something in fixing the other problem and now it will not run.
If I click the icon within Program Files nothing happens. If I double-click a .cdr file which should be opened in Corel I get the error message "there was a problem sending the command to the program". I've un- and re-installed several times, even gone through the registry and removed all references. There is no appdata for the program, each time I reinstall it's a clean install, so what am I missing?
At install stage, I get asked for my serial number, which I enter, then the install continues. I never get as far as the activation stage as the program never starts. I don't think it's a Corel issue anyway, so much as a Windows 7 issue.
I've made a cool action which includes resizing for web and lab sharpening. Is there a way to save this action and send it to a friend so he can install it in his actions?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I send photos from Lightroom 5 to Photoshop (CS6), make changes and return to Lightroom, I will see a new frame with the changes I have just made. However, I notice that I lose my original enhancement settings from Lightroom. In other words, the enhancements on the photo are still there, but the sliders from the right hand tool bar have all been reset. Basically all the changes have been 'baked in' to the photo, so I can no longer make modify/delete the enhancements I originally made. This is particularly important when working with brushes.
Is there anything I can do to preserve these modifiers as I go back and forth between Lightroom and Photoshop?

I want to send several graphics to someone by PDF. I think I can do it with Corel Draw, but I want to send a number of JPEG or Tiff graphics all in one PDF file via ONE e-mail.
I think I can do it with graphics in CDR format, BUT, I can't find any instructions on how to do it with any kind of RASTER graphic!
Unfortunately, the people I want to sent them to can only receive stuff in JPEG or Tiff, but NOT in Corel Photo-Paint. I know I can send the graphics one at a time, but that's a bit tedious!
I have the following command in my VBA routine:
ThisDrawing.Utility.Prompt vbCrLf & "ABCDEF"
When I run my VBA routine from the VBA editor, the command appears in the text window of AutoCAD the way it should, but when I run the routine with the VBAload - VBArun commands (automated on a toolbar button), it does not. Do I need to obtain the AutoCAD object and issue commands that way instead of using the thisdrawing.utility method?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue with Xara Pro 4 and AccuRIP (Epson1430). Not sure if it's Xara, The printer or AccuRIP issue.
THE ISSUE - when sending multiple pages to the printer, where the pages are spooled, the output will have vertical rasterized streaks of zaggies throughout the output.
THE SOLUTION - send 1 page at a time, wait for it to print, then send next page. FYI Corel has a similar issue when sending several spot pages at the same time.
Using AccuRIP for printing halftones and vectors?
I have tried searching the forum how to do this but all the posts I can find talk about using Illustrator etc. I wish to send a PDF/X, 300 pdi file to a commercial printer (A4 and then A3 versions) using just XDPX.
How do I include bleed margins and crop marks?
I tried to achieve this by creating a custom page oversized from A4 to accommodate crop marks and a 3mm bleed margin. When I exported this as a .pdf I got a displaced image within an A4 page. How do I create a suitable file?
