I love using Pelt seams. Since I've had both 3Ds Max 2010 and upgraded to 2011 for classes, the Point to Point Seams option works great but when I click pelt, the stretcher is all screwed up and I realized that random seams are added to the ones that I created. I'll have full quads missing from the area I had highlighted to have unwrapped and I spent more time putting a jigsaw puzzle together. What I'd like to know is what is going on? Is this a bug that I don't know about? Is there an option I have selected that isn't supposed to be turned on? This is my first post on this website and I've attached an image of the issue I'm having. I loaded up this file and the seams were attached to the frame or model the last time I used 3ds Max. The seams appearing off of the model is the first time I've seen that occur. You can see the "patches" of seams that have shown up randomly on the model.
I used the automatic UVs in Mudbox for my model and tried extracting an AO map.The quality is set to good though I tried all quality types and for some reason after I extract it and it shows as diffuse on my model the seams are showing.. Edge bleeding is set to 4 and also tried with 5.
When I try to make a hexagonal repeat pattern with a triangular motif I cannot avoid seams even though I am careful using guides. I am using photoshop CS5.
I have a Unwrap UVW modifier applied to an editable poly object. I used point to point seams to create the seams I wanted. There are a few seams I would like to change, how do I remove a certain selection of the seams that I want to remove?

I created a pattern tile swatch, and am certain that the edges are perfectly matched. However, when I fill an object with the pattern, on the monitor there appear to be vertical seams. If I zoom in very large, the seams go away, and they do not print. Is this just an artifact of the monitor or should I be concerned that the seams will appear if the illustration is posted to a web page?
I am having a tough time blending seams on 3d objects in CS4. I create textures for 3d figures used in Poser, and Photoshop is my preferred 2d painting tool. Sometime ago, I bought CS4 pro thinking that the 3d paint feature would enhance my workflow when developing textures.
Unfortunately, I find the capabilities of CS4 to be somewhat rudimentary at best, so I am stuck using Deep Paint 3 to do blending. For example, when I try to paint over a UV seam with 3d paint on a wavefront .obj model the seam will not take paint. When I paint over the seam, a stripe is left several pixels wide - whats up with this? Do I really need to go back to the2d texture map to blend my seams/edges? This seems somewhat useless as I originally bought CS4 to improve my workflow for blending edges and maps together. Is there a workaround that will allow the paint to actually be applied to cover the edges / seams, and preferably a number of pixels beyond?
Another thing I noticed is that the blur/sharpen/smudge brushes do not work to blend edges either, in fact, when I try to smudge across an edge, I just contaminate image with stuff beyond the edge from the texture map. - if the pixel just beyond the edge is black, smudging just drags some black into my image. Is this really how this is supposed to work? Even using a normal brush seems to cause contamination too.
below is a simple example of the painting problem on a simple cylinder I loaded. The original texture map I was painting on was gray.. to demo the problem, I flooded with red, which left a gray line at the seam. then went to a green paint and and did a couple of strokes with a brush. You can see that even simple brush strokes dragged some gray into my image.
I took a "panoramic" photo while camping using my Canon with the panoramic mode. I have the following image as a PSD where each frame is a separate layer. I have lined them all up and such and performed an Auto-Levels filter on each layer. There are still seams, especially in the sky portion of the image.
Sometimes I work offstie, so no wacom tablet with me. How can I spray sparkles/dust/etc and vary aspects randomly such as size? Even with the wacom would like more random results, than gradated.
I really like how illustrator does this with sliders so you can set a range. Can I set up something simlar in Photoshop?
I updated my Mac and everything was fine until i had to restart it. My Photoshop's keyboard short cut became all random like this:I tried restarting my computer again but it has not changes.
The most weird part is that when i tried to change the short-cuts, it won't work even though i clicked on accept and "ok". Is there a way i can turn this back? It wasn't like this when i first got this back at November.
I am having a problem with my brush/stamp/eraser tool in photoshop CS5.5. Whenever I click to paint, erase..etc it will sometimes randomly paint elsewhere on my photo. Sometimes it will paint just one spot or other times it will paint a whole line or squiggle across my photo. I have checked my brush settings and I don't have anything turned on for it to do so (i.e. scattering, shape dynamics, spacing).
The blocks are seemingly random and happen unexpectedly. What's worse is they become permanently incorporated into my file, thus destroying my work.Note that you can see the blocks have become part of both the art on the layers as well as the masks.
I'm working on a 27" iMac 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5 with 8GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM, using Photoshop 14.1 x64. I have seen some reports about possible video driver errors associated with this model, This is a Photoshop-only problem as far as I can tell. I do believe I encountered this in Photoshop CS5 at one point as well.
I've used Photoshop CS6 Extended Edition for over a year on my current laptop (specs below), but now it just crashes at random points. I get the message 'Photoshop has stopped working' and then I can only close it. I didn't change any settings. First I thought it happened because I also had Visual Studio open (also uses alot ram etc), but even after I closed it and did a reboot Photoshop kept crashing :'(
My specs are: Pc: Dell latitude D630 86x CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20Ghz Graphics: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family Os: Windows 8 Pro Ram: 2Gb
I know it isn't the best you can get but first I could use Photoshop without any problems.
Edit: I have updated all my drivers and it still won't work.
Using cs5 ps version 12 and randomly photoshop will not open any file. I can open ps itself and ask to open a file and all the menus appear but no window with the art or pic! Cannot move any of the menus either. Only way to rectify is to reboot!
I am trying to create a Photo Slideshow in VideoStudio Pro x6 - during the editing preview or when I try to share the program crashes with an unspecified error. The original project was 8 Minutes and the preview would crash at about the four minute mark. I thought it was possibly the length of the project so I tried split the number of photos in two and put half into a project that previewed and exported fine, dropped the other half in a second project that would then crash at random spots in the preview process. Tried deleting several of the photos, thinking maybe the format of the photos, but that did not work. Is there a know error in the creation of photo slideshows by any chance? I have tried this on two different laptops, one windows xp the other windows 7.
As a note, I was originally attempting this in studio 11, which I own and it was doing the same thing. I downloaded x6 thinking it might fix the issues because of better compression, etc. I would like to purchase x6, I love the interface and ease of use and built in effects, but I can see having to do many of these types of projects and would like to be sure that it will function properly.
I've found some example code on how to create Leaderline and have been playing around with it. So far so good, but when I create my leaderline and the Mtext generates, it is always preceeded by an "OK" and i can't figure out where it's coming from. I've tried using TrimStart on a number of the strings to no avail. I know it must be something insanely simple but it can't seem to get it.

I appear to have two red circle which I did not create on drawing in model space. I am assuming it is some sort of error but can not figure it out. On my layout tab viewports containing the section does not show, only the red circle.
I'm creating a landscape plan, and I would like a method for creating leaves on the trees. I can draw an initial leaf and copy it, but then I'm confronted with the tedious task of resizing, rotating, and pasting them onto the tree hundreds of times over. I know that in some drawing programs, there's a random spray tool that allows you to continuously paste a selection at random points within a given radius. Is there a tool like that in Photoshop, preferably something that also randomly modifies the size and rotation of the selection?
I'm working on a very small scale, and need to find a way to make an image which consists of 4 colors, randomly spread around the 16x16 pixels.
I have not been abel to get the desired affect with any of the noise filters, so I was thinking I could make 4 layers, one with each color, delete the parts I don't want and just merge them down.
Now, with such a small scale, I could do the work by hand, but I have to repeat the process at least a dozen times, and I want it to look truly random.
I'm experiencing some problems with the rendering of some videos on AE CS4. I haven't had this problem before.
When i first installed After Effects a few months ago, i tried to render videos and AE rendered them beautifully, without a single issue. After a while(some months) it started crashing in certain points of the videos, and after a while it couldn't render more than 300 frames(after 300 or less frames it crashed).
I tried all the solutions available in this site and other sites, but none of them worked. I suspected that my computer had became slower over time and assumed that that was the problem, so I decided to reformat(myself) it as soon as possible.
I thought i fixed the problem by formatting my PC. When i tried to render the same video , it couldn't go beyond 200 frames .how is it possible that before, AE could render the same video without crashing even once , and now (even after formatting) it can't go beyond 200 frames.
Detail: when AE renders the video, it begins very fast and just crashes at a random frame ( not at the same frame every time)
