Apr 1, 2012There's nothing in my materials library. I found the 'fix' on autodesk.com but can't get it to install. Do I need to 'unistall' entire program first?

3ds Max :: Maps Missing In Material Library
Sep 1, 2011I'm creating a material library and when I open the library all the jpeg maps are missing. They are still wired to the material but the map location is missing, it just says jpeg. I remember this being a problem in 2010.

Dec 13, 2012I am reading a tutorial for Adobe Illustrator CS6 that was written for CS5 version and I am at a point where the author uses the 'Mayan Bricks' pattern.
(He says that it is located in Swatch Library > Patterns > Decorative > Decorative_Primitive).
The problem is that in CS6 version there is no Decorative_Primitive folder.

Feb 21, 2013Our macs have 2 accounts on each (2 shifts) and we have installed the new Pantone + colours (336) in the swatches as usual.
Open illustrator and the libraries are there. When I switch to the other user account the libraries are missing in Illustrator. I navigate to the presets/swatches folder and they are installed. All permissions on Read write-everyone but still the second user account cannot see the swatches.

Aug 18, 2012Very new with this software...watched several videos, and I'm still confused. Went to send some pics to a friend last night, and noticed that many "folders" are not in the pictures library in Windows 7.
In LR4, some folders have a destination of C://users/eric and brenda/windows/pictures...which is great, but others have this destination C://Brandon(which is just the folder name).
how can I get the folders in the Windows Library?

However, I can't find the rather useful option of showing "copy name or file name" but rather just "copy name" or "file name" on their own. Since I'm using LR3 (Mac), is this a feature available only in LR4 or am I doing something wrong?

Although JPG files are displayed where no RAW files exist, JPEG files are not displayed where corresponding RAW (CR2) files exist. I have checked the box in Preferences to treat JPEG files next to RAW files as seperate photos, but this seems to have no effect.

Mar 21, 2012I back-up a 23 GB library to two external hard drives about once a week. I always wipe out the previous back up set and copy and paste fresh each time and let it run.
Ive also been thinking of adding an online backup (carbonite etc) as another failsafe.
How do automatic back-ups work in the realm of parametrically linked files such as Inventor. Im a little worried about that concept.
Lightroom :: Files Not Connected In Library New Installation
Sep 26, 2012Have just downloaded LR4 to C drive on windows 7 home premium, all photos and folders are there but, folders in library are shown as being in Y drive which was on a computer I have recently replaced, so when I put them into develop it says " missing folder, path does not exist" The images are on external F drive, Also I thought that LR4 would merge with existing LR2 so now I have two LR programs on my C drive, is this how it should be ?

I selected 4 RAW files (CR2) to convert to DNG via the Library modules 'convert to DNG' and then delete the CR2 file.
It converted only the last of the 4 files and left the other 3 untouched as CR2 files. Can LR not batch convert the RAW files in this manner??
Lightroom :: Can't See Files In Navigation Panel Of Library
Nov 23, 2011Usually when I Import I select what I want to Import from the left panel of the Library interface. I open Folders, then my C drive (whatever) and go from there. My entire file structure is displayed and I can navigate anywhere I want.
Tonight all that is displayed under Folders - C Drive is a listing of already imported folders. It's a list compiled from within Lightroom, not my computer's file directory.
I am not in Catalog and there is no slider to the left of the list - plus the list is not even a portion of my file list, it is something altogether else.
I was able to do a clumsy import by using File Import, which brought up an interface I have never seen before, much less used. I was able to "select a source" there and browse my files. But it was unfamiliar and I need to get my navigation window back to showing what's on my C drive when I click Folders - C Drive.
VideoStudio :: MP3 Files Not Playing In Library But Plays In Project
Nov 19, 2012I just upgraded to Windows 8. All with Videostudio X5 is working fine, except MP3 files will not play in the Library. I get this strange hiss. If I drop the mp 3 file into the time line on any audio track and then play the project it plays fine. Wave files play fine. I did a uninstall and re-install of X5 to see If that would fix the problem.

Jun 1, 2012Does a process for importing INDIVIDUAL materials (saved as some_material.styxml) that had been exported from Inventor 2011 or 2012 into the 2013 Inventor Material Library?
I am not asking about converting the old libraries -- I know how to do that -- these are materials that were created for one-time (supposedly) use and exported from the 2012 Inventor file, but never saved to the older Inventor styles libraries. Operation was EASY in 2012 -- click the "Import" button on the styles manager dialog box.
No such button on the new materilas library manager, or am I missing something?
Only way I have been able to do this is create a 2102 part, import the STYXML file, apply the material to the 2012 part, then save the part & open it in 2013 & let 2013 import the style. Once the material style has been imported this way, it can be added to the Inventor Material Library, but this is a really nutty workaround that requires Inventor 2102 to be available...
Illustrator :: How To Create Swatch Library From Multiple PNG Files

I am having a difficult time trying to create a new swatch libray of patterns from multiple png files. The way I am doing this is very slow and repetitive and seems silly for a tool as advanced as the latest CC suite including illustrator.
What it seems I must do is open all the png files in Illustrator, creating multiple workspaces, drag one png file into the swatch window, then save that window as a library, close the existing window to reveal the next png file, open the user library I just created, drag the next image into the currently active swatch window, then drag the previous swatch/s from the user library into the current active swatch window, resave and replace the user defined swatch library (now with two images in there)fromthe updated current active swatch panel/window, close the existing workspace to reveal the next image file, and then repeat the process again, slowly building the user defined swatch library up by adding one image at a time and then adding back into the Swatch panel the previously built up library of swatches again one at at time. (you can select all from the existing user defined library and drag over into swatch panel, but this creates at least one duplicate on each cycle for as soon as you click on the first swatch in the library, it adds itto the current swatch panel and then when you select all swatches to drag across it includes the first swatch and copies it again)
This is a very slow process to build up a swatch library. For some reason you cannot drag swatches directly into the user defined library you have created, only into the active swatch window for each workspace. I searched the web and forums for answers but could find none. There must be an easier way, just can't find it.
Ideally, the best option would be a swatch window option that allows the import directly from a list of selected files in the finder.

Nov 5, 2011Random files are being corrupted in my library. Sometimes the preview image is corrupted sometimes not. But upon export images are being corrupted as well so I cannot export certain images anymore for anything because they get corrupted everytime.

Jun 19, 2013I installed Lightroom 4.4 recently. I have been using 2.x for years.
I exported a number of jpg files into a JPG subfolder. These jpgs were generated from cr2 files. The "add to catalog" option was selected. My problem is that not only the exported files/pictures were not added to the catalog but that I cannot add them manually (by syncing the upper-level folder).
