I opened Lightroom 3 and it was if I opened it for the first time. My enitre Library and keywording is gone. Did I somehow make a catalog? Or when I removed my old 2011 files...it took everything with it? Can I get it back to the place it was? I have a huge inventory.
View 13 RepliesI have been using LR 4 for a couple days now and when I went to the "Keyword List" I could access some of the keywords. When I got to "S's" I could not access them. One other thing I did, was to use the "Filter Keywords" and when I put the "S's" in, then I could. Seems maybe there is a limit to how many keywords can be listed?

However - as described in Lightroom support - in Library under Metadata, I do not see the option for "Importing Keywords." In LR4, some folders have a destination of C://users/eric and brenda/windows/pictures...which is great, but others have this destination C://Brandon(which is just the folder name).
how can I get the folders in the Windows Library?
How can I move many nested keywords back into the main listing of keywords? I was up late a few nights ago and never noticed that about 80 new keywords were being placed as (nested?) under another keyword. How can I get them back from under that keyword and into the main keywrod list?

However, I can't find the rather useful option of showing "copy name or file name" but rather just "copy name" or "file name" on their own. Since I'm using LR3 (Mac), is this a feature available only in LR4 or am I doing something wrong?
The metadata folder in the library module is missing in the right panel. It was present when I first purchased Lightroom 3 but has since disappeared from view, but don't know exactly when.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am reading a tutorial for Adobe Illustrator CS6 that was written for CS5 version and I am at a point where the author uses the 'Mayan Bricks' pattern.
(He says that it is located in Swatch Library > Patterns > Decorative > Decorative_Primitive).
The problem is that in CS6 version there is no Decorative_Primitive folder.
I paid a lot of money for this software which was supposed to come with a library of clipart, photos, etc. I have exactly ZERO and I cannot get any support on why that is.
How do I get the clipart I paid for?
My program is missing a few material styles from the content library, whenever I use them on a part they just stay the default color. How do I replace them without having to re download the whole program?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOur macs have 2 accounts on each (2 shifts) and we have installed the new Pantone + colours (336) in the swatches as usual.
Open illustrator and the libraries are there. When I switch to the other user account the libraries are missing in Illustrator. I navigate to the presets/swatches folder and they are installed. All permissions on Read write-everyone but still the second user account cannot see the swatches.
I'm trying to utilize the piping and routed systems tool to run some pipe, but when I setup my pipe styles, it cannot find the xml files for the pipe, fittings, etc. I know I am connected to my content server as I can insert individual fittings and manually place pipe lengths. I am running Inventor Professional 2009
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just installed a new computer when my old one died. I had everything backed up and have managed to successfully restore my lightroom catalogue.
I can see all my photos and all the adjustment history and I can see my library of keywords. However, none of my photos show the key words that I previously assigned to them.
I am not sure whether there is a file that I need to restore from the backup somewhere.
In AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 when assigning the state plane coordinate system LA83-SF is missing from the Library. Although it is visible as a choice to select in the Available coordinate systems window when creating a Category.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am very happy with some 200 keywords that I use in PSE10 under Win7/64 on over 20k images. Is it possible, in LR4, to pick up files with keywords written to metadata, and work with them in LR4 (selection, editing, etc.) WITHOUT damaging or "upgrading" the PSE10 catalog? If yes, could PSE10 pick up keywored changes made in LR4?
Or do you have to commit to one program or the other?
Why do keywords sometimes "jump" out of the master tag folder and line up alphabetically outside their assigned set?

The first thing I'd like to do is move a keyword from its new (incorrect) location as a sub-keyword back to being a parent keyword of a hierarchy. I have tried dragging and dropping it but it immediately returns to its incorrect location. I considered creating a new keyword as a parent keyword (the same word), then open the images linked to the misplaced keyword and drag all the images to the newly created parent keyword. Then empty and delete the misplaced sub-keyword. But...I fear loosing links to collections, vitual copies, etc. for all the images. best method for returning the keywords to their original placement in the hierachy.

If I add the jpgs to my catalog and then add the keywords, those keywords are not written to the jpgs when I close Lightroom. The reason I don't want them is that I actually want to re-do all of my keywords/imports. I know it's a big pain, but I feel that it needs to be done, as I've learned how to do things more properly (in theory).
