I have a drawing with 13 layouts for a set of easement documents. They are in TN state plane and if I close and open the drawing the coordinate system in every single viewport on every single layout resets itself centered about the origin (state plan of this part of TN is around (2210437,238922.) so 0,0 is a long way from there.)
This error can be reproduced simply by saving and opening the drawing again but only in this one single drawing. I have never encountered this before in 12 years. I have done it over and over hoping it would not repeat but it happened again and now I have to redo all of my layouts...again. This is costing me a great deal of time. I am running Civil 3d 2013 and am going to move this drawing back to 2012 in the hopes of stopping this bug.
I have audited repeatedly and I purge all of my drawings often.
I am running 64bit ACAD on a 3.4ghz Xeon with 8gb ram.
We are using the Creative Cloud version of Illustrator CS6 and seemingly at random, Illustrator exhibits the following behaviors:
• The Illustrator Options dialog box is not displayed during a save-as operation. • The Save or Don't Save dialog box is not displayed when closing a file. • The Print dialog box does not appear when printing a file. (similar to the MS Office quick-print - it still sends the print but uses last settings)
As you have probably already guessed, the second behavior could be quite disastrous. This has been confirmed on four different machines, all Macs, OSX 10.8.2 with 12 - 16GB of RAM, plenty HD space, no unusual cpu activity.
My open dialog box is messed up, as the Enable: is always set to nothing! I do have an althernate plug-in dir set in preferences (I do not want to reinstall all my 3rd party plugs from CS 5.1!) So what to do? If I remove the old plug dir from preferences, I loose my plugs but get Enable to work right!
I'm having some fits with the constrained orbit center. It seems to me that It used to always be in the center of the screen when I would use Shift and CMB. Now it seems to be stuck on the center of my assembly/part. I know that I can hit F4 and long select LMB to re-center but I have never had to do that before the last day or two. I have uninstalled all the Beta Add ins I had installed and I have even uninstalled and reinstalled Inventor Pro 2014.
Is there an option somewhere that puts the default Orbit Center to the center of the screen?
I did take a class for it in college so I know the basics, but still learning. I am trying to create a very basic animation where I have 2 assets that begin off the stage on either side. I would like the elements to slide in from the sides and meet in the middle with about a 20px overlap. I tried setting a keyframe for both elements at 0 seconds and setting the X translations to -2000px and 2000px and then setting another keyframe at 5 seconds and changing the X translations to 48% and 52% respectively. This got me the desired effect, but only because I have such a large monitor. If the browser window is resized or the screen is smaller, the effect does not stay the same due to using percentages to center the elements.
is there a way to animate elements to the middle of the screen without percentages(maybe by using margin:0 auto or something)? Or is there a way to accomplish what I am looking for so that the positioning of the elements is the same regardless of browser window size?
I'm running Windows XP with Photoshop CS6. Since the "Save" button runs off the edge of my monitor, I can't click Save. I also can't move the dialogue box up far enough to get to it before running out of screen space. I tried just hitting the enter key, but nothing happened. I end up having to do a control-alt-delete to get out of Photoshop altogether.I've never had this problem before when I had CS2 or with the CS6 I have at work.Is there a way around this?
Just recently I have been getting a 'dead space' in the center of my workspace in LR4. Whatever tool I am using will not work in the center of the screen.
When you zoom into the picture that's being edited, scrollbars appear but you can scroll only to the edge of the picture, pixel in pixel this way it's pretty hard to capture the edges with selection
How to add a free space to all sides so it will be possible to move edges of the picture to the center of the screen and work with them easily?
When i use an adjustment brush it will not work when I move the cursor to the center of the screen, in the rest of the image, and when I move or zoom the image it will work, so I can use the adjustment brush anywhere in the image, as long as it is not in the center of the screen.
I have a three button mouse. I can use Shift + Center button to orbit my drawing. problem it, the stuff is always flying off the screen because the pivot point is at the center of the drawing / part / assembly/etc. This annoys me to no end. How do I change the Orbit Pivot to default to the center of the screen?
This is a incosistent problem, in which I cannot determine why it's happening and it doesn't happen all the time. I often restart Lightroom and it is ok after that.
In a small area of the screen the curser doesn't function. I cannot select an image or anything in that area while in the library module and when in the develop module brushes change back to the arrow icon and don't allow me to click in that area.
This is my first time using Lightroom and am currently using version 4.3 that I downloaded from the Mac App store. I am running a new MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.2 Mountain lion.
I am finally getting used to the operation of CWC and find it usable, but one thing bothers me. The page layout only fills the center one-third of the screen.
The selected image appears on the main/center panel but not in the preview screen. Printing results in a white sheet of paper with no image at all. The image has been updated to LR 4 - but made no difference.
We have about 25 users on Inventor working via a common network on multiple projects, we do not have vault.
In using the content center, I see one has to specify the location of instanced content center parts under options>file>>Default Content Center files. Is there no other way to get the instanced content center parts to save under the specific project file location without changing it manually each time via options>file>>etc. Is there a setting under projects?
I would like to have our newly created Content Center parts end up in a vault folder location unique to them. This will manage our conversion from the standard parts to our custom parts. Unfortunately, Inventor automatically saves these to the en-US folder. How can I set parts to automatically save to the Content Center/Roberts Standard Parts location as shown (attached) when they are inserted in an assembly.
OK, first let me say that I use Gimp all the time.......... IN LINUX. I'm trying to install Gimp 2.6.12 on a Win 7 machine for a friend. The installation went fine, but for some odd reason there is only the default dialogs panel on the left, but none on the right. When I try to open the layers dialog or any other dialog, absolutely nothing happens. Was there something else that needed to be installed prior to installing Gimp? I'm going to assume no since one dialog is already open.
First of all I want to introduce myself. My name is Joshua, I'm from beautiful little Switzerland (yeah, lot of chocolate and cheese here!), and I'm a webmaster (HTML, CSS, PHP, Ruby on Rails) and programmer (C, Java, PHP, Ruby).
At the moment I have to rely on other guys to create nice website layouts, but now I want to learn it myself using Photoshop. :-)
My first question is quite simple: I'm working on Mac OS X Tiger and I'd like to switch between buttons in Photoshop dialogs using the tab key... So if I e.g. want to close an image and I'm asked if I want to save the file, then I can't switch to "No" using tab (as a programmer I don't want to use my mouse too often ;-) ).
Is there an option to activate this? In Mac OS X I have activated this option, but in Photoshop it doesn't seem to work...
I have a drawing that when I am in a layout and run QSAVE (or if autosave fires), the screen "flashes". More specifically the layout disappears for a second and during this time, the entire screen is black (the animated GIF below plays a bit fast)
This only happens in one particular drawing, and any drawing this one is xrefed into. Before I recreate this drawing from scratch?
EDIT: If I turn off REGENAUTO, the flash does not happen. Still, something is weird about this drawing.
Is there a fix for modal dialogs open behind palettes in Photoshop cs6 13.0 (creative cloud update) + OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on MacBook Pro? ( I am using 2 monitors where the second monitor is set to be the menu display. cs4 does not exhibit this bug. )
Toggling the Application Frame off improves the hiding 'feature' but this does not include the desired continuous floating in front of palettes in all circumstances.
An example is Blending Options, then chose Stroke, then chose the Color Picker. After clicking OK, the Blending Options dialog now sits behind the palettes. One trick is to click on another app, then back to cs6 to force a window redraw.
Fired up 2012 and I find the new modeling dialog boxes quite annoying. For example, within Edit Poly, the chamfer, extrude, etc. Is there any way to switch back to the old, standard windows style dialogs?
I have a installation of Revit 2012 (64bit win7) that some times stops drawing dialogs and Revit menu (the big R-button) in front (or something). If I press open, the dialog only pops up if I press somewhere in the revit window, and windows plays that DING-sound (like when you do something you shouldn't do). It feels like a menu draw issue.. The R-button just never displays a menu when I press it. A restart of Revit fixes the problem, but its annoying and we all know Revit doesn't start very quick...
I use the GIMP all the time and I love it! I'm not a realexpert, but can do mostly what I like.
I'm using Gimp 2.6 on Ubuntu. I open the GIMP, and I'm going along just fine, then all of a sudden I can't get the dialog box for a tool I'm using and I can't view the layers tool box. If I close everything and open GIMP again, it will work for a while.
The smaller windows that come up such as those for adjusting the levels, brightness/contrast, etc. moved little by little each time I used them, but I never paid attention until my Levels window moved so far up when it opens to its default location that I can't get to the top of it to move it anywhere. This has happened to a couple other windows for me, and I can't figure out how to fix it! I tried resetting the workspace, changing resolutions back and forth, restarting.
The problem is every time a file dialog is displayed (like, file/open or file/place) I immediately termintaes with the "Could not complete your request because of a program error." message. Nothing in the logs or console messages.I contacted support, but they were apparently reading from a script - they had me change /Library (not ~/Library, but /Library) to global read+write - NFW. I did it temporarily and it still didn't work.
I believe my issue stems fromt he fact that my user account was created years ago, back when the default user group (its gid) = its uid. When I look in Users/Groups, it shows "staff" (which is gid 20), but the directory (and I assume its execute permissions) is set to 502, same as the uid. I tried to change the directory group ownership (the entire /User tree for this user) to gid 20, but it still wouldn;t work.
Since it works for the other user (created in Mountain Lion), I assume it must be related to this legacy permissions situation, but I can;t figure out what I need to change. CC loads, and I can load a file from Lightroom, but it will not display the file dialog.
