3ds Max Animation :: Adding Collision To Hair Poly

Quick question: I was able to make a model and her hair is poly. I'm not using the hair and fur plugin. I was able to make the hair flow by using the flex modifier but I want to add collision to it.
So when the model turns her head, tips of the hair will flow over the shoulder and not through it. I was messing around with the deflectors but I am not getting the results I want.

My model is ready for the rigging. But my model is a little heavy in poly-count. I can rig it now but at the time of animation i know it will be a problem while animating it. It will lag while moving its controls. I have seen people animating with low mesh and while rendering they use high mesh. Do, i have to create a low poly version of my model?. If yes, Then i have to paint weight twice. low poly one and the high poly one.

I want to have some kind of collision-detection within two symbols. So when one symbol collides with another there will appear be text like "squash" or something.
I haven't found anything about collision-detecting in edge animate, but I thought I could handle it with looking for the same css-parameters of both symbols. Obj1 is moving to Obj2 on a motion path. Now I want to have a Text, when it reaches Obj2.So I tried it like this:

I'm having tons of trouble with the hair system for a character I've made. One that I'm very stumped on is for the rigging. I have a skull cap with hair on it and then the character separate. I have created a skeleton with which I want to smooth bind to the skin. While the smooth bind seems to be working, I'm having issues with the hair not following the global skeleton when I move it. The character herself moves, but her hair stays put and I don't know where to go from here to make her hair follow. I have tried combining the skull cap and character. I have tried grouping the skull cap and character. I have tried just about everything, but the hair will not follow. The most I could do was make the follicles and skull cap move, but not the hair. Any way to get the hair constraints to move along with the hair system after it has been binded, that would be great too as I have used hair constraints to form her hairstyle.

how to switch a texture at certain keys, or Keyframe a file texture on a shader at one key and then change the file texture to something else on a later frame, on the same polygon face. Like this...
How to switch or change these two images at different textures at different frames.
Click animation. Here I just keyframed and switched two poly planes. But I want to swap out the textures by keyframing them instead.

trying every layer mask combo I could think of to create a realistic shade of white hair that doesn't look like I just used the brush tool to make it.
I've tried lighting up the shadows with the curves option then using the selective color option. But all that does is make a very fake looking film to put over the eyebrows (ya it's eyebrows I'm working on, I'm trying to get them to match a white wig the subject is wearing.)
I've also tried using the solid color option, and a color overlay and that just came out weird.
Has anyone ever turned pitch black hair to white and had it still look like hair?

I have two "banners" created from a plane with a cloth modifier on each. One banner is in front of the other. I want the one in front to drop first. After it drops and is waving around a little...setting down...I want the second banner to drop. Because they are close to each other and both waving a bit, they will hit each other.
How can I have both set to be a cloth object and both set to be collision objects to the other? I thought it was one or the other. (In the cloth object properties)

I have some model boat plans (scanned images) and would like to convert them to 3D objects. I used a software img2cad for the conversion, and since the conversion is not perfect i have to redraw all the parts. So here are my questions:
1. For the parts i mostly used lines, splines and arc. What is the best way to join them, so later i can edit them to 3d solid object? I used join and it works well, however it creates a small angled edge at the end. (see image or zoom in dwg file).
2. For some of the parts the extrude command works only on the edges of the 2D object creating a hollow 3D object. How do i fill the inside?
3. In near future i would need to assemble all the parts and make the skeleton of the boat. Is there a way to check for object collision (if parts are too big for example to fit where they should)?
I also attached a file with two ribs of the boat as an example.

So I've come across a simple roadblock, I can't seem to be able to link the bones to the mesh. The bones pretty much move as if they were separate from the rest.
As the dozens of videos I've seen, the process is usually the same: after creating the mesh, go to Helpers > CAT Objects > CAT Parent, choose a RIG(Base Human) and add it.
So I do all that and fit the rig to the character. After that, go to Modifier List, choose Skin, click Add and select Base Human bones. In the videos, that's when everyone always goes to the motion tab, add the CATMotion Layer, and the mesh and bones move together.

Assemble several parts from Solidworks through step profile.Part2 and part3(attachments) no static interference ,when driving constraints (driver) immediately a collision report appears.Additional,when restrain the part 3(attachments)and drive constraint(driver) meanwhile open the collision detection ,finally,part2(attachments) goes through the barrier no checking collision.

I have a rigged object and I would like to add a blend shape to this rig. Now my blend shape is not for morph animation rather it is for manipulating the original geometry. Put it this way, I modified the original object and I would like to put this new shape in place without changing my rig, or transferring weights or bones. I presume that best would be to put this before the rig deformer so that the bone deformer works on top of it? I am not sure how I should handle or approach this.

I've been trying to feel out the pipeline for creating HIK rigs and jumping back and forth between Maya and Motion Builder. In Mobu, there is a way to add prop joints to a character's definition, but I haven't found a way to do so in Maya.
What I have done, is created the joints as necessary, and then created custom controls that the prop joints are constrained to. It's a simple parent constraint, so nothing too tricky. However, when I go to File-> Send to Motion Builder, the joints that are constrained are offset from their proper positions by a distance similar to their offset from the origin of the scene. The only way to get them back, is to turn off the effects of the parent constraints.
The controllers, and constraints transferred into Mobu fine, it seems. So I'm not sure where the discrepancy is. It would be ideal to be able to add these joints into the characterization step in Maya, to simply move them about with FK controls. What the best way to set this up would be? Is there a way to add prop definitions to a character in Maya?
While the original question remains, I found that the prop controls I had in my scene, were off from their proper positions, by the exact relative amount from the origin in the maya scene. Even though I froze transformations on the controls, coming into Mobu, they were put back on somehow. After selecting them, and setting their trans values to 0,0,0, they were put back into the correct position.

I have an image that is mostly alpha.Problem is that it blocks buttons from working.Is there any way to set a flag to an image so it is not part of the 'touch/mouse' collision funcitons?
i can arrange it behind the buttons... but that brings other issues, because something needs to be behind the image with alpha but over the buttons.

I have an animation that runs for around 2 minutes. I want to add a button that the user can click to pause/play this animation if they want extra time to read the content on screen. I'm not sure how to tell a button to pause at the current frame and resume when clicked by the user. The button will also need to change states from a pause image to a play image when clicked and vice-versa.

I got a picture of a lady, however, because of the lighting and the fact that it's b/w some parts of the hair are so dark that you can't see the hair at all.
Is there any techniques I can use so that I can make it look like the hair is slightly visible (even though that area is currently a solid black).

Is there a way to recall a editable poly set and or a uvw map? It seems like I have to always re select them if if i want to modify a map.
Here is what I dont get, I have a box converted to an editable poly. With all of the polygons (faces) selected on one side, I assign a uvw map and successfully assign a map.
So I proceed to the top of the box and repeat the process and what? The entire cube takes on my "assign material to select" and I only have the top faces selected. What the heck is going on here. This is happening in 2013 and also 2012.

I have a diamond model I built (editable poly) and it is sitting on a pillow I made (garment maker, cloth- also editable poly) Ok so there has got to be an easy way to make the diamond sink into the pillow. I have been playing around with conform space modifier for hours now and I can make basic shapes change but it will not effect my ed polies and also I dont know if this is working the way I imagined anyway.
