The Photo Paint program can save an image in several formats. However, I do not see an option to save an image file in the .png (portable network graphics) format.
Is it possible to save an image in the .png format using Photo Paint?
A digi image, cropped (crop tool), resized (resample), and saved (save as). Everything on 'default' (usual settings for this) or as I would like. Close and re-open, the image shows as the cropped image, but the thumbnail is the original.
I bought a new camera card today, having run out of settings to try. Took a pic, copied over, and it cropped and saved fine. So I went back to those taken yesterday, still full image thumbnail. Took new ones on new card, but full image thumbnails. Recropped the original photo that saved earlier today with cropped thumbnail - the full image is now in its thumbnail.
Till X3 Photo-Paint opened and saved transparent PNGs as a seperate image with attached mask.Example:I have an image and load a B/W mask into it.
When I save this as PNG and reload it in X3, Photo-Paint displays again exactly what I have just saved:
However when I open this same PNG in X6, the image and mask get merged into a single object:
It's in effect doing automatically a "create object from selection" function and discards then the background. Why? I can't work with the full background image anymore, because the transparent parts are missing, and the mask is also gone. Is there no way to open the full PNG, without any merging and deleting of masks, just the way X3 was doing it?Also, the only way to save a transparent PNG in X6 is to check "save only selected objects"? When I don't check this, but still check "transparency" in the PNG export dialogue, then the mask won't be saved nonetheless.
Trying to edit and save this file fails silently, because Photo-PAINT does get confused by a file name like this: "filename.morename.extension". Nothing gets saved.
The actual file name taken from my example file is: "Flag_of_Germany.svg.png".

Downloaded the trial - Installed fine, loads fine, everything seems to work fine except the effects menu.
As soon as I try to open the effects menu it crashes... this happens in both Win7 x64 AND Win8 x64 (tried for fun) Corel X5 works fine in both, BUT its the 32 bit version... wonder if i should try that
The Coreldraw Graphics Suite X5 is my first foray into this product since version 3 (way back when). PhotoPaint supports CR2 files.
Except that in my case it doesn't do so consistently. Files from my Canon 5D MkII occasionally open fine (just this evening, I started getting a problem withe these as well), but 7D files consistently crash the program and I have to exit.
I have SP3 installed.
This machine is a 6-month old 64-bit HP desktop (AMD multi-core processor) with 8 GB of RAM. Photoshop, Lightroom, Painter 12, and PSP X4 work without incident and open all supported files smoothly.
My Photopaint X 6.3 crashes when i will load more photoframes from dvd or disk
The way: Effects-->Creative-->Frame, when i click of "More" Photopaint crashes
Corel X 6.3 - Win7 64bit
While "Draw" of Coreldraw X5 is working well, Corel Photopaint X5 does not "Save", "Save as..." or "Export" files. It just does nothing, when I choose to save a file under "something.cpt". It works, as long as it is a JPG, but not as a CPT. I am working on a Win7, with CorelX5 in german. Support told me to reinstall.View 15 Replies View Related
Just installed CorelDraw Graphic Suite X5.... version : 22.214.171.1241
The "Save" command or "Save as" does not work for me in Photo-paint X5.
The patch does not want to install.
I would like to save only one of the color channels, for example the magenta channel of my .tiff image. How do I do that? Every time I save my image I just get a grayscale image, even though I'm able to see the magenta channel just fine.View 5 Replies View Related
The plague has struck my X4. I have done absolutely nothing to the computer in over two years. I can't save a file as a JPEG to most folders using Save AS. It will save a file as a JPEG to the TEMP folder -- but the preview in which I can set compression does not show up. However, it still works well if I Export to Web.View 10 Replies View Related
I would like to save the workspace to a CD as a backup in case the one in use becomes degraded. Can this be done. If so, what files should I save.View 4 Replies View Related
Every time I want to save an PNG image with no background corel keeps merging the object with the background, so it creates a white background. Even if I only open and click save a png image it merges with the background.View 1 Replies View Related
I am trying to save a tif file to gif and at the same time setting the white background transparent. I did this in Corel Photo Paint 11 with the following
Call PhotoPaint11App.CorelScript.FilterGIF(0, 0, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0) Call PhotoPaint11App.CorelScript.FileSave(gWebFolderMain & gMVID & "-NakkeO.gif", PHOTOPAINT.cdrFilter.cdrGIF, 0)
Now in Corel Photo Paint X5 this doesn't work any more. What have changed and what am I doing wrong. According to documentation it seems to be correct.
I am doing a lot of saving new files over old ones. I am sick of the warning message that pops up having a default answer of 'NO' when I go to replace the files. Is there a way to change the default to 'YES' , or get rid of the message altogether?View 1 Replies View Related
I wanted to convte an image to a quadtone then paste the original color image as a new object-layer beneath it, then experiment with the two with blending and masking techniques. But,When I try to save the quadtone image as a tiff, the option to do so isn't there. Only CPT, PSD and a few other options are avilable.
When I copy and paste the original image as a new object, it's also automatically converted to the quadtone of the layer beneath it.
i'm using my corelphoto paint x3 for a year now and it is working fyn then on one occassion i don't know but while editing an image, i suddenly discovered that my effect tools, paint tools, clone tools wont work or wont make changes on the image i'm editing... i've already checked the menus and settings but still no work..i also tried reinstalling the program but still it's all the same..View 2 Replies View Related
I'm having trouble using the paint brushes in photo paint x6. i open a JPEG or bitmap then use a paint brush to paint on the image but there is no paint. do i have to use a mask now? I tried copying a dupe for a second layer to see if that worked but nix. i still have x4 and i do it there. but what's with x6? all the other tools work but the paint brush.View 14 Replies View Related
Is there a way to reduce the percentage of view so that the image fits in the (right) window?
I do a lot of pixel art for games - how do I set up a second window of an image at a different zoom? Here's a picture of Photoshop doing it...
How do I do that in Corel Photo Paint, so I can edit at two zoom levels at the same time?
I am evaluating x6 and considering upgrading. I have been a daily Corel user since the 1990's and usually do every-other upgrades.
Anyhow, I am having a problem exporting TIFF images. The bottom part of the image is corrupt. White band. Interesting, if I open the TIFF in Corel PhotoPaint it's perfectly fine and fancy, but If I preview in Explorer I get the band, emailing it the recipient complains about the white band which obliterates the bottom 100px or so.
As far as I know the Adobe TIFF spec has not changed since 1991, maybe 1996..
So is this a limitation with the trial upgrade or a bug or a weird harold situation?
Everything else seems great, I'm excited about running corel 64 bit on an 8 core machine with 16 gb, It does seem like there have been some things removed which were previously very useful for production, and now they are gone or perhaps just missing. For example, how do i pop out the pallette and see all the colors at once? I think now I have to scroll at the bottom and it's annoying as heck.
I'm new to CD and PP. I was wondering if there is a way to use Photo Paint on an image without it ending up pixelated?View 5 Replies View Related

I am designing a logo of the sun rising over the earth from the perspective of earth orbit. The general look will be of the sun(looks like a star) illuminating a narrow crescent of the earth. I am working on a picture, trying to adapt it for the logo. I need to change the white sunlight to be yellow/red - can't seem to isolate the colors from the mix of earth colors or black background colors they mix with. Another thing I need is to use a white background instead of the black background of the picture taken from space. Is there a way to convert all the colors that are a mix of the black background and something else to be changed to be as if the background was white?View 8 Replies View Related
When I click on the image sprayer tool in photo paint it constantly crashes..... comes up with a box that says 'Debug' when I click this is closes down. I was trying to add an image earlier to the spray list......then it was working fine.View 6 Replies View Related
I'm working on some images that have very specific colors. It can be 1000 colors or 5000.
When I resample the image, I would like to keep the colors. So if I have one pixel being e5d900 and a pixel next to it is 00a5d3, resampling the image will pick one of the colors and not something between.. or a color of the 1000 or 5000 that are on the color palette.
Using 'PaintX6 64bit Win7
File - Batch Process - Add File - select several files (jpgs or tifs) - Open - Error....
Only first file added to list. Can continue to add files one at a time. Not really good for ,say , downsampling a list of hundreds of image.
