Downloaded the trial - Installed fine, loads fine, everything seems to work fine except the effects menu.
As soon as I try to open the effects menu it crashes... this happens in both Win7 x64 AND Win8 x64 (tried for fun) Corel X5 works fine in both, BUT its the 32 bit version... wonder if i should try that
Even after Service Pack 3, bump map still crashes Photopaint instantly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Coreldraw Graphics Suite X5 is my first foray into this product since version 3 (way back when). PhotoPaint supports CR2 files.
Except that in my case it doesn't do so consistently. Files from my Canon 5D MkII occasionally open fine (just this evening, I started getting a problem withe these as well), but 7D files consistently crash the program and I have to exit.
I have SP3 installed.
This machine is a 6-month old 64-bit HP desktop (AMD multi-core processor) with 8 GB of RAM. Photoshop, Lightroom, Painter 12, and PSP X4 work without incident and open all supported files smoothly.
My Photopaint X 6.3 crashes when i will load more photoframes from dvd or disk
The way: Effects-->Creative-->Frame, when i click of "More" Photopaint crashes

I know this problem is probably right in front of my face, but when i import a pic in photo-paint x5 i'm unable to use most of the "effects" filters as they are locked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried to first open a KDC file, which is a RAW file from my Kodak Camera, by clicking on File>Open but it didn't work. So then I attempted to open it using "Import". That was when I found out Import was grayed out. Why would that be? I just installed the program and this happens! Is there a setting I need to change?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOne of the reasons I have always liked PhotoPaint is because one can do some amount of video editing with it which is handy for animations or title frames to use in video editing programs. PhotoPaint has always been my preferred tool for making animated gifs from avi or mov files.
I see that it will open uncompressed avi or mov files but if they are compressed, it won't open them properly; such as showing the frames as solid black.
Is there a way to import additional codecs or filters or whatever for avi and mov into x5?
No matter what resolution I save a jpeg at, they all seem to open at 480 dpi. I would like my jpegs to open at their native resolution. I have looked through the options and settings, but can't find the command to change this. (When I go to resample it always displays 480 dpi)

(PHOTO PAINT X4) The screen is now frozen with a small box saying ''out of memory'' I haven't saved the file for a few hours. Or has all this work now gone. I now also have this message with no text, what it might be and which button I should press!? Or is there some sort of shortcut to save.
View 7 Replies View RelatedTill X3 Photo-Paint opened and saved transparent PNGs as a seperate image with attached mask.Example:I have an image and load a B/W mask into it.
When I save this as PNG and reload it in X3, Photo-Paint displays again exactly what I have just saved:
However when I open this same PNG in X6, the image and mask get merged into a single object:
It's in effect doing automatically a "create object from selection" function and discards then the background.Why? I can't work with the full background image anymore, because the transparent parts are missing, and the mask is also gone. Is there no way to open the full PNG, without any merging and deleting of masks, just the way X3 was doing it?Also, the only way to save a transparent PNG in X6 is to check "save only selected objects"? When I don't check this, but still check "transparency" in the PNG export dialogue, then the mask won't be saved nonetheless.

I want to know how to resize a photo without loosing quality....... in the image resize box the is a check box that says maintain file size ......what does that do .
I have tried to resize using it and the file stays the same as the original.
I haven't found a way to turn a color photo into a Black & White outline drawing in Corel PhotoPaint X5.

Not just change the color but change the color AND make it keep it's original shading, etc. I have some family photos we had made recently and they used a beige color draping for the background. The ones we had made before had a black draping. I was wondering how I could go about using some sort of additive coloring to transform the varying shades of beige to the same varying shades of black.
I have already used the masking tool to separate the background from the rest of the photo.
I want to create bulging eyes in a photo that i have. I would do this in photo paint?

But now I want to make the edges of the oval or round image transparent.(then I want to put the result image on another image)

Couple days ago I got a problem. When I try to open extended menu, like Open ->, or Save ->, or Import/Export, 3ds max crashes with "application closed" error. Problem on 3ds MAX 2010 and 2011 in x64 versions. x86 work fine. Service Packs installed. OS Windows 7 x64. Drivers updated, and workis fine.
This solutions did not resolve a problem:
- reinstall 3ds MAX
- reset user and max settings / deleting enu folder
- there is no backup for windows recovery
Can it be, than some windows libraries damaged, or some dll missed? Do not know what to do else, except full windows reinstall.
Is there an easy way to do color tints on a photo in PhotoPAINT? And by that I don't mean just correcting the tint, I mean converting a regular photo into one that has a single color tint (e.g., yellow, red, etc.). I've tried graying it out and then adding a transparent color layer over it, but I'm not getting the result I'm looking for.
Also, while I'm at it, are there any (current) books out that cover PhotoPAINT in depth? I know that the official DRAW book has a section on it, but it's pretty basic.
The current crop of photo sharing apps like Instagram have made filter effects a popular way of adding some extra vim to your shots. What if you want to give the ‘retro’ look to photos that aren’t on your phone though?

I need grungy photo edges to be transparent so her background shows through the grunge effect.
Thought I knew how to do this but it's not working.
I would like to use a photo frame from connect, and keep it in the Effects>Creative>Frame menu of frames. I have downloaded and clicked and dragged the frame to my image, but I would like to reuse this frame. Is it possible to add it to the menu? I can download it to the menu - but it is a temporary item in the list of views to the right, which can be replaced from any of the permanent members of the dropdown selection of frames on the left of the Frame menu. I would like a frame to become one of those "permanent frames."

I export as a jpg and the image looks fine when I view it.
Then if I open it in photo-paint the black is not black, but rather has a grey color to it. The image is exported fine and looks great when viewing it with the normal windows photo viewer program.
Something is happening when it is opened up in photo paint I think.
i'm using my corelphoto paint x3 for a year now and it is working fyn then on one occassion i don't know but while editing an image, i suddenly discovered that my effect tools, paint tools, clone tools wont work or wont make changes on the image i'm editing... i've already checked the menus and settings but still no work..i also tried reinstalling the program but still it's all the same..

Now, on my CorelDraw X3 graphics suite, the photo paint program is only partially functional. The clone and paint tools do not work anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, rebooted the computer, but no progress. We have Windows XP, the same as before.
