Apr 24, 2011how to take a segment out of a circle _ I ma sure it's dead simple but I just can't seem to do it. I need to take a 30 degree "pie slice" out of a 3d circle.

I have target segment and center point of it:
Polyline line = ...
LineSegment3d centerSegment = line.GetLineSegmentAt(centerSegmentIndex);
Point3d centerPosition = centerSegment.MidPoint;
I can find direction of this segment:
Vector3d zaDirection = line.GetLineSegmentAt(centerSegmentIndex).Direction;
Next, I create list of points:
List<Point3d> points = new List<Point3d>();
points.Add(centerPosition);
points.Add(centerPosition.Add(new Vector3d(ZASize, +ZASize, 0)));
points.Add(centerPosition.Add(new Vector3d(ZASize, -ZASize, 0)));
And draw it:
wd.Geometry.Polygon(new Point3dCollection(points.ToArray()));
Ok, I have triangle but... it's not in segment direction, it's X-direction.
I try to rotate it:
points.Add(centerPosition.Add(new Vector3d(ZASize, +ZASize, 0)).RotateBy(0, zaDirection, centerPosition));
But it's not the same as I want.
How I can draw triangle by serment direction?
Xara :: Ovals Round A Circle?
Mar 10, 2012Senility has set in, and I can no longer remember how to stick ovals around a circle. Need to do this for a client's site, for a gallery (patterns in the little ovals will show large in the middle), but think this is more a graphics question at the moment than a web question. This mock up was done in Illustrator by the client. I know Xara can do this easily, if I could only remember how. Have a feeling i have seen a tut illustrating this, but haven't been able to unearth it. Thinking it might be a blend, but not sure. Can't persuade things to go round the circle, nor work out how to keep them equidistant. I am such a newb.

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)

These are official for sRGB and ProPhotoRGB but are not part of the aRGB specification, but a slope of less than 32 is allowed in the shadows for raw converters and is used by ACR for all three of these spaces.
Does Photoshop currently implement a linear segment for these color spaces and does it make that much difference in practical photography?
3ds Max :: Rendering In Active Time Segment
Nov 19, 2012I am really messing my model,.. am using 3ds max 2010,. my problem is when i render my animation in active time segment my first frame seems ok,. but as its goes on the lights looks fading or turning it off as it goes by i already check the "compute advance lighting when required" and nothings change,.. let me attach some pics.
the first pics is frame 0000, the second pics is 39th frame,.. if you take a look on white materials they turned grey,.. and in frame 200 the lights are really out i cant show them any more cause i deleted them and when i render in range (i.e.) i start in 40th frame the lights or materials came perfect but again if goes by the result fading let me attach the 40th frame using "range".

May 16, 2011The only way I know to remove the segment of this 3d object in between the orange lines is to slice on each orange line and select to keep both sides which is pretty tedious since I will need to do this every 3 feet over a 170 foot span....is there another easier way to do multiple mortar joints on a 3d object like this?

Aug 18, 2013I am looking for a good tutorial in the various uses of the eraser & segment removal tools. I cannot seem to get the hang of how to use these tools to erase or delete sections of a closed object and leave the object open after using the tool.
So far the only way I know of to leave an object open is by using the shape tool to open a curve - surely there is a way to do this with the eraser and/or segment removal tool.

Oct 9, 2012I have a subdivision plat that I'm working on with a curved lot line. When I label this particular lot line, Civil 3D labels it like it's two different segments. In other words, instead of labeling the line as a 100 foot long arc with a radius of 100 feet, it labels it as a 60 foot arc and a 40 foot arc. I can't figure out how to combine the two segments.
All of the lots lines were created from polyline objects, and there was no break in the original line work (nor is there any indication of a break in this location when I select it).

Sep 26, 2005I have scanned newspaper cuttings, stored them in My Albums. Opened each one in PS 5 increased contrast, edited out specs and marks etc, Saved, then in Slide Show the results were unreadable. Attempted to open again in PS and got the following dialoge box 'JPEG marker segment length is too short. The file may be trunkated or incomplete. Is there a way to recover or do I have to start again and will I get the same result.
