View 9 RepliesI want to draw a pattern for a crochet hat. The first thing I need to do is draw a ring of 7 chain stitches. I downloaded a font that makes crochet stitches, the one I would be using for the chain is an oval. I typed in the 7 stitches and adjusted the spacing so that they touched and tried putting the text on a circle. But I couldn't get a contiguous chain. I tried a brush, but that would not fit round the circle.

I've got text superimposed on a photo of wood in ID (Text was added in ID.) Client wants the text to look like it's engraved in the wood. I don't think I can do this in ID.
Many years ago I did something similar in PS with text on a marble background, and it took many steps to accomplish.
What's the best way to do the wood engraving? I'd like to avoid having to go through zillions of steps, because I anticipate changes in the project.
I need to engraved on a camera lens the text below. It has to look realistic. I couldn't make it work. Does anyone has a tutorial? I use PS CS2.

So I would like to engrave/push into picture some text. I mean random picture, like what ever you want, and just engrave letters into it. Doesn't matter if engraved letters have picture or colour used in them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI must make photos of engraved medallions, and I was wondering if instead of having to engrave and shoot each one I could take pictures of a blank and then use a photoshop text effect to simulate the engraving.
is this is feasible and reasonably easy to do or not?
I'd like to show you what I'm trying to simulate but I apparently need 4 posts to have the right to post links...
I had wanted to find a way to engrave/emboss the part number on a part model and have it be parametrically tied to the part number iProperty. Since it doesn't appear that I can create a text box and insert the iProperty directly, here's what I did to work around this. (I setup my part templates to have this out of the box....)
1. Within, the IPT file, add a user text parameter called "PartNo" and set its initial value to any text value.
2. Create your sketch for your text to be engraved. Insert the User parameter you just created.
3. Create the engraving/embossing for your text.
4. Create the following iLogic rule:
' Requires a User Text Parameter called "PartNo" prior to running' Set the appropriate event trigger to tasteIf Parameter("PartNo") <> iProperties.Value("Project", "Part Number") ThenParameter("PartNo") = iProperties.Value("Project", "Part Number")InventorVb.DocumentUpdate()End If
5. I set this rule to fire using the "iProperty Change" event trigger. So if the iProperty is set or changed, your text will update. Obviously, you can set this to run with whatever trigger you like.

I am trying to make a 3d ring for my logo but not getting the desired result. There is loads of zig-zag surrounding the ring. Following are the details how I did that.
1. Ellipse Marquee Selection.
2. Ring1, Edit stroke filll, 9 px center
3. Applied inner bevel and drop shadow
I've got a picture of a ring lying on a surface (3D pic).
I'd like to make some text so it looks like it's on the ring, encircling it. How do I do that? I've tried all the free transform functions, no results.
I am trying to create a ring like the one below. This one is scanned from a business card and is not very clean. I want to make a high resolution image that I can wrap around a sphere using about the same angle.
I have played around with the Ellipse tool and then tried to skew or distort the image, but I am having the most trouble with the two places the ring is broken and comes to a point.
I have a picture of the erath, (globe). I am wanting to make a ring like staurn, so when you look at the globe, the ring will follow a curve, go around the back of the globe and then come out around the other side and join up. Basically as you see in a picture of planet Saturn.
how do i build this effect. I have tried the warp and transform tool, fine but getting the efffect that the ring goes around the back, comes out the other side is proving some what difficult.
how do I make the ring hide around the back of the globe??? I also have tried different layer and moving them about.
i want to make a golden ring in photoshop i m new at designing create a golden ring and further tell me how cani fix this ring around a map of a continent

View 37 Replies View RelatedI want to make a ring of polygons on the outside of a polygon-like the inset function when you get to >=2, but without all of the twisted polygons beneath it. Is there a way to do this using a tool, or do I have to manually add them myself?
I can make the larger radii on the connection pieces. Untwisting the polygon (rotating it -180) and then extruding/hinging works, however is there an easier way than that?
Was just wonderin if theres anyway to create a gold tooth in my mouth on a pic i have of myself. And was also wondering how to put myself in a picture that im not really in!

I was wondering about it the other day and, having perused the other forums inside,
I am trying to create this shape, but have it so it is scalable for a logo image. I have tried making various ellipses and putting them on top of each other, then skewing them and going back to trim out the "tails" of the rings. It never seems to come out clean, and the top edges of the rings always seem square rather than rounded.
Does anyone know of a better approach to this. I apologize if there is already a tutorial or thread on this, I searched, but didnt find anything on my own. I would be using it for both print and web.
At tut "Multi-Layered Ring effect", step 4 we find this paragraph:
"Rename this channel to bevel. Once you have renamed the channel to bevel go to Filter/Blur/Guassian Blur and choose a value of 8. Then Guassian Blur it again with a value of 5, and one more time with a value of 1."
Why can't we put a bigger value to the gaussian blur effect, instead of repeating it three times with differents values? If i put 14 for the Gaussian value once, isn't it return with the same effect?
I'm trying to "bend" an image (or text) into a ring. I'm not talking about simply having the text follow a circular path, but rather more like the filmstrip on Apple's new dotMac logo,
How did they get the items - like the video frames in particular - to "wrap" around the globe like that? Perhaps Photoshop is not the right tool? I've seen this same effect with text and other images on various site, and I've always assumed it was done in Photoshop.
I made an API-spec 10K cross, 7 1/16" x 2 1/16". I got everything done including the passages and boltholes for the studs. But I need to cut grooves for the BX ring gaskets. It is basically a block of steel with two different size holes through the center with bolt circles (and ring gasket groove) at each opening. I am still a bit of a beginner and I am stumped on this one problem. If it were AutoCAD I would have cranked out the solid model in about 15 minutes (or less if in a hurry) but I want to learn Inventor.
