I can't seem to find any masks, or make a successful one myself in Paint Shop Pro, that creates a white photo border around a video, to make it look like a bordered photograph. All the edges I've made want to let the video show through the white border. How to do this? I just need a white border around a video to appear as if it's a photograph.

Is there a easy way to do this? or will i have to make two mask one for each video? if so how would i make them?
i am currently working on the storyboard for a title sequence, and i have to animate it now.
As you can see in the picture i have a light blue background that has a circular shaped mask, and everything happens inside this mask in multiple layers on the back.
my problem is i want this mask to be animated, and to have a watercolor felling. so i thought of using video footage of ink, you know the typical video of ink falling into water and sort of expanding.
i have no problem making the video appear inside the ink stain, but my question is: is there a way to make a video follow the shape of an object? so i can make this ink footage adapt to different mask forms, for example a circle or a triangle, or even more complicated forms like, i dont know a human silhouette?
i am thinking something that stretches the video along a path with the shape of the object may be the solution.

And I am about to start a video for a foster dog I have. Basically, I want to take a whole bunch of pictures (and possibly a short clip or two) and put them into one video and post on Youtube for the rescue to use.

She zooms in and out of some pictures and I REALLY like that effect. I emailed her and she said she did it on a Mac and it's called the "Ken Burns Effect" Is something like that possible using Video Studio? And if it is, how the heck do I get that to work?

I am putting together a biographical video of my wife and myself for our kids (married 50 years). I want to have a video of her (example) sitting and talking about growing up. Is there a way to insert a photo on the main video track and still keep the voice track intact? Example: She is talking about her childhood. A photo apears of her as a small girl while she is still talking. The photo goes away after a few seconds and there she is live and taliking. I hope to get away from using the overlay track.

I'd like for the 'frame' to make the footage look like a 1920's photo that is damaged around the edges. I want to give the audience the impression they are looking at an old photo that has an animated video in it.
I've exported a few samples as a test. The center was transparent upon export, yet became white when I re-opened the image. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The background setting was selected as 'transparent'.

When I rendered to a DVD none of the chapters show up. How to get the Chapters to show up in DVD (or other vieo format)?

Looking at the web page and box photo for the X5 version of the bundle, it seems to now include only the non-Ultimate versions.

I have used Video Factory 2010 for making DVD's with navigation menus but I would like to make it into a file to use on my Mediaplayer instead of having to make a DVD and then ripp.
I've been searching and trying to see if there's a way that I can make my video right under 500mb, basically so I can have the best quality possible but still be under Vimeo's 500mb upload limit. It's not a long video, it's slightly under 2 minutes, but I've tried about 10 different export options and they're either around 100mb and the quality is awful, or they're gigantic files.
Is there a way that I can set it to close to 500mb? I'm using Video Studio Pro X5.
I found where I can make a video backdrop for a DVD menu, but the limit appears to be 30 seconds. This is not the case in other programs. Is there a workaround?

how to make my edited mp4 video files smaller so that They upload and download much quicker. I did some editing to some MPEG-4 video files and when I was finished I found out that the file sizes of each video blew up to huge numbers. During the editing I did add some transitions and .MPEG photo images. I didn't think that the video size would grow to that amount. I really would like to keep the MPEG-4 format for the convenience to the viewer. I just need to have it in the smallest file size possible. how I can get my "MP4 H264 - MPEG-4 AVC Resolution 640x480" videos to an acceptable file size?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.

I know that I can import the video frames to layers in CS3 and then create a mask on each frame, but there are thousands of frames - and when I render the video from the animation it is slow to run in quicktime. Even if I were able to edit each frame, it seems like there should be a better way.

While it's easy to set that up and position them at the right places, I cannot seem to find a way with which I could change the scale of the video with an Image Matte applied without changing that of the Matte as well. I can use offset and push the video around "underneath", so to speak, but I would love to be able to scale that video underneath as well. I know that could be done with a layer on top obscuring the video below but I find that rather cumbersome, especially with 4-way or more, adding quite a few more layers.

It only does it when dragging the mask from the right. Is this a known phenomenon? Can anything be tried to overcome it? I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have not created a document yet and would like some thought on how to do this: I want to use a continuous tone black and white image which is somewhat close to what would be a 'knockout' but with soft edges - so it gradates appropriately over the background image I want to use, making the black part of the image used as the mask become much of the effect of a gradient mask: the background image shows through whereever there is the 'black' and 'tone' of the image.
my first thought is to create a layer mask and then paste the black and white image onto that, but I'm not sure if that will work to accept the 'soft tones' of the image and work appropriately. What steps I should take to make this effect work?
I think circle after reduce using mask should stay circle instead of you can get in photopaint.
Steps:
1. make 10px circle
2. make mask from it
3. reduce mask by 3px
4. crop object to mask
