I recently purchased VSP Ultimate and have been trying to use one of the FX additions, RotoPen. Clearly, there must be a way to add a transparent icon but I have tried every file format I know that support transparency without success.
what steps to take to be able to use my own icon with a transparent background? I saw on an earlier thread someone said use GIF Movie Gear, but that also did not work.
I used ROTOPEN plugin in VS5 Ultimate, but i don't know how make transparency background in my personal icon used into ROTOPEN. I have my icon in white background picture .
View 12 Replies View RelatedI use X5 Pro. I have some projects with lots of video clips. When I load a project, the project itself loads fairly quickly (as indicated with the green progress bar), but the Icons in the Project area then begin loading ONLY for the page being displayed. This applies for both the storyboard and timeline view. This is very frustrating, especially on the storyboard view, because every time I scroll a page I have to wait for the icons to load. With a lot of pages, it takes a very long time to get everything loaded.
Is there a way to either speed up the loading process or have it load in the background so that I can leave the computer and come back later to find the icons all loaded, rather than having to sit there and scroll through one page at a time waiting for each page to load until all pages are loaded?
I have a still photo of friends getting married. In a slideshow, I would like to show them standing giving their vows at the alter and have various backgrounds replacing the alter. Example: They are standing at the alter. The alter fades into a forestscape then to a seascape and then a sunset. I have prepared the couple photo in PSP buy erasing all but the couple. The erased area is transparent but when I open this photo in Video Studio the transparent area has become a solid white. Is there a fix?

I just ran into a problem, using Videostudio X5 Ultimate. When i try to import a .PNG-image with a transparent background, but then the background of the imported image turns black.
However, when i open the same image in an image-viewer, the background actually is transparent.
I am trying to add a new object to the decoration folder. I noticed they are all .png files, so I created a new png item with a transparent background ( with Gimp) and saved it in the same folder where all the other original ones are. It does come up in the list and I can add it to my video, but it changes the background to white, even though the original one has definitely a transparent background.

I am trying to overlay a logo on top of my titles. The logo is a circle and is in PNG format. When I use this logo in documents it is totally transparent with only the circle showing. However, when I try to use it in my video the circle has a white square around it, the white being the transparent area.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of icons made for PC's that I'd like to use on the Mac. When I download the icons and unzip the file most come with two icons. An ico and a png image. Originally I could not get either to open in Photoshop so I got this little freeware prgm. (Icon Grabber) that converts icons to tiff files. Now I can drag it into PS and work on it. When I open it it shows up as having a transparent background. All is well. I then save it as a png so it will work on the Mac. All is well again and I can use the icon BUT it's showing up on the Mac as having a white background even though in PS it showed up ?as a transparent background. I have tried saving it to SuperPNG which supports and saves transparencies.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?
Any list of what the little symbols mean in the video clips? I stumbled (the usual method for finding anything out in Video Studio) upon somebody posting that twin icons that look like movie film mean that the clip has been through Smart Proxy. what all these cryptic symbols/icons/whatevers mean? I have the Picture Yourself book and the pamphlet that comes with VS4 and I can't find a simple page that explains these. How lame.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a file with 2 layers, one (Layerone) that is blank, i.e. no fill or anything. The other layer (Layertwo) has text. I save the file as a .gif, select transparent, select matte as none, and keep getting a white background when I upload the file to my website.
I also tried copying the text Layer to the clipboard, creating a a new file with the background set as 'transparent', then pasting the text only layer into the new file. I still get the white background when I upload to website.
It can't be this hard to get a transparent background. What am I doing wrong?

I cropped out the background of a picture in Photohop (CS3) and then placed the image into an ad I am designing in Indesign. Although the background is suposedly transparent, it makes my black graphics in Indesign a shade darker... Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I noticed this after I printed the Indesin document to PDF.... So I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong in Photoshop, Indesign or when printing to PDF.

Choose the magic wand click the area that you want transparent.Choose cut and it is turned transparent.This is limited by whether the central image has the same color in it. It will be changed also.You may have to click on each background area till all the background is transparent. Do one area at a time.
