Nov 26, 2011

Is there a way to make Pro X3 run in the background?

The reason I ask is I want to add a voice over to a video Im working on, and I wrote a script to read from, but when I bring it up, the recording stops.

VideoStudio :: Using PSP Image With Transparent Background

Nov 11, 2010

I have a still photo of friends getting married. In a slideshow, I would like to show them standing giving their vows at the alter and have various backgrounds replacing the alter. Example: They are standing at the alter. The alter fades into a forestscape then to a seascape and then a sunset. I have prepared the couple photo in PSP buy erasing all but the couple. The erased area is transparent but when I open this photo in Video Studio the transparent area has become a solid white. Is there a fix?

VideoStudio :: Background Music Too Loud?

Aug 23, 2013

As I am testing more functionalities (and finishing up a video, obviously), I am trying to add a background music. For now, I used one that came with VS. I am reducing the Clip volume to 3 (I think that is 3%) and it is still too loud. If I move it down to 2, it is inaudible. Is there another adjustment somewhere? I really cannot have a background music compete with the narration!

VideoStudio :: X3 DV To DVD - Convert With No Background Music?

Dec 3, 2011

I have VideoStudio X3 Pro and just want to convert all my DV tapes to DVD - no background music, no fancy themes, just conversion with a menu and 15 minute automatic chapter breaks (or scene breaks using the X3 scene detection).

The only way I can test the themes provided in X3 to see if they have background music is to burn a tape to DVD. That just isn't very efficient.

how I can do this, which theme to use, or a way to adjust the theme before it burns?

VideoStudio :: Background For Chapter Menu

Apr 3, 2013

Although I have been using x12 for some time I have never created a chapter menu before.

Even though I select "select a background image for all menus" when I do a 'preview' then select the video to play the background image remains displayed briefly and then the chapter menu fades in with a light blue background (not the background image I selected for all menus).

Is it possible to set the background for the 'chapter menu' and if so how? Also how can I CHANGE the displayed "chapter 1", "chapter 2" etc to something more meaningful?

VideoStudio :: How To Change Background Color

Mar 3, 2013

Using VS9 (I know I need to upgrade.) I'm making a video to be shown on a 16x9 screen and have selected the 16x9 format. I have many 4x3 videos and pictures. In my original "preferences" I selected Blue as the Background color, added about 100 video clips and still pictures that now have blue on both the right and left edges of the screen. Is there a simple way to change this to grey or do I need to start over?

VideoStudio :: Image Overly Background

Feb 11, 2012

I have a picture that I am wanting to overlay on top of a video clip. The picture is on a white background. I want to make the background disappear, but have the image show at its normal quality. (basically I have a image of a halo that I want to put over someones head, but the white in the image is obviously taking space in the video clip.

I was able to do this in Cyber link Power Director but cant seem to find a way in video Studio.

I played around with "Mask and Chroma Key", but that just makes the entire image transparent, and I am only looking to make the background transparent.

VideoStudio :: X4 - Make Objects Float Across Background?

May 4, 2012

I have learned basic skills with VS x4, and made a couple of videos with animated stills, and voice overlay, but I want to do something more sophisicated now. I'd like to have either a still or video background, with objects (images or text) "orbitting" over it, that is floating across the screen in a smooth trajectory. Is that possible to do inside VS without a camcorder or other handheld? If so, can you give me a brief description of where to look in the menus, what to do, and I'll work on it from there. I assume it will involve some superimposed tracks. But how can I create objects moving along a smooth path?

VideoStudio :: Add New Object To Ulead11 With Transparent Background

I am trying to add a new object to the decoration folder. I noticed they are all .png files, so I created a new png item with a transparent background ( with Gimp) and saved it in the same folder where all the other original ones are. It does come up in the list and I can add it to my video, but it changes the background to white, even though the original one has definitely a transparent background.

VideoStudio :: Menu Background Music Volume

Sep 5, 2012

The Issue: adjusting the volume of a DVD menu background music (and only that), How to.

Problem statement: Running X5 pro. Preparing a DVD disk with an introduction and 6 clips, with one main menu. Having chosen the smartscene menu template to use, the items on the menu are adjusted (sometimes the menu item needs a simple name rather than the clip file name, and specifically the name/spelling on the menu item should match whatever is in the clip it relates to), and finally the Edit tab selected to choose a different music track for the menu. The option button here allows a variety of tweaks to the music - the music selection, fade in/out, duration etc, but NOT the volume of the music when played as the menu background.

The previewed end result has significantly (twice the volume at least) louder music that the remaining clips. Disconcerting to a viewer. Now, I know there is a normalise audio button at the final burn stage to (supposedly) even out the sound variations, but I've found an issue with that (separate post on this forum recently. The short term fix is to manually even the sound levels of clips out before burning the DVD with that normalise audio button OFF). That approach does not cover the sound level of the background music for the menu, which by default is rather loud, and with no apparent means of turning the volume of it down without impacting the rest of the disk.

Also noted in preview, there is a speaker symbol permitting volume control, but by experimentation that appears to manage the volume of everything, rather than just the menu.

The question: Is there a way of adjusting the menu music sound level ONLY?

VideoStudio :: Way To Speed Up Or Load Icons In Background?

Feb 16, 2013

I use X5 Pro. I have some projects with lots of video clips. When I load a project, the project itself loads fairly quickly (as indicated with the green progress bar), but the Icons in the Project area then begin loading ONLY for the page being displayed. This applies for both the storyboard and timeline view. This is very frustrating, especially on the storyboard view, because every time I scroll a page I have to wait for the icons to load. With a lot of pages, it takes a very long time to get everything loaded.

Is there a way to either speed up the loading process or have it load in the background so that I can leave the computer and come back later to find the icons all loaded, rather than having to sit there and scroll through one page at a time waiting for each page to load until all pages are loaded?

VideoStudio :: Pro X5 - Plain Background Needed When Authoring DVDs

Feb 15, 2013

I'm using VideoStudio proX5. Previous versions of the VS program have allowed me to opt out of using a preset image template for the menu pages and instead to choose a background image of my own to put behind page headings and video thumbnails or text titles. I can't see how to do this in VSproX5. Any background image I introduce is always partly covered by unwanted areas of template and the right-click menus won't let me delete or move them to the back. I just want a plain uniform background and to be able to choose the coolur.

However, the clip does look excellent otherwise in picture, vocals, musically etc.

VideoStudio :: How To Fade Titles And Background / Group Title Elements To One Object

Feb 27, 2012

I use titles a lot with VS x4 and have a couple of questions. I often use the backgrounds available in VS x4 under the titles to add style and make them more visible. I usually fade up to the title and fade back out again. However, when I do this, the title itself fades fairly smoothly but the background looks terrible. Is there any way to get titles and backgrounds to fade in/out together s-m-o-o-t-h-l-y?

Edit: Here's a video from YouTube: [URL].....

Watch the background for "Just a Good Read"... as the title fades off at the end of this title sequence, the background doesn't fade -- it just sort of snaps off. I really like the background but want it to fade in/out smoothly with the title.

Another question about titles: Is there any way to group title elements together so that they become one object? I created a complex title with lots of little elements such as dashes. However, when I move any one element, the others don't move, and lining them up again is a pain. Can I associate these items to create a single object in which everything is moved (and for that matter, sized) together?

VideoStudio :: How To Create New Graphic Color Chip To Match Video Background

Oct 10, 2013

How to create a new graphic color chip to match a video background.

Conditions
- Video MainTrack: Color Chip/Graphic
- Video OverlayTrack1: Video of my Mom sitting in a chair against a painted wall being interviewed about her life [age 87]

The project is 16x9 and video is 4x3 which I have left-centered [so there is a black "stripe" to the right of the video image] As she talks about certain events, I will have .JPG photos show on overlay tracks 2 & 3 in this "black stripe" area

I desire to make the "black stripe" are match the wall behind Mom so project looks more Professional

Question: How can I create a color chip that matches the background painted wall. All I can think of is to create a screen capture, open that is PAINT, and read-off the color coordinates.

Note: My only Corel product is VSPro.

VideoStudio :: Use Picture In Picture (Grow And Cover Entire Background)

Mar 15, 2012

I used to use MediaStudio Pro to create picture in picture especially where the picture starts small and grows to cover the entire background video clip.

I looked for and found a video filter which I thought would allow me to do the same. However after viewing the 'help' for the filter and trying just about everything I could think of I cannot achieve what I want to do if start with a video clip and then have another video clip appear (very small) in one area of the background video and then slowly grow larger to eventually cover the background video clip.

I can make the picture in picture appear and grow larger but it covers the entire background video clip with black effectively covering it no matter what size my picture in picture is. I looked for a chroma key to cover the black out but could not find it.
