Dec 4, 2011I'd like to freeze or pause the video and then pan/zoom around a bit before restarting the video. Is there a way to do this?

View 3 RepliesI will be importing a bunch of video clips without audio in X4 and also importing MP3 files. For a majority of the clips I will be recording a Narration Audio and the goal is to synch the audio with what is happening in the videos and as such I need functioanlity where I can pause/freeze the video while narraating. I have been unable to find this feature in X4.
I am also open to importing the video clips and audio clips into X4 and then making them synch somehow, but I may still need to pause the video at some stage to make the audio synch.
I just tried creating my first video using VideoStudio X6 ultimate. I have multiple video clips, a jpg, an audio and a couple of music tracks. I've created it without problems and it plays great in the program during preview. My problem was when I tried to burn it to a DVD+RW disc. When I play the disc in my player, each time a video clip ends, there is a split second pause before the next clip starts. It also appears this way during the preview in the DVD creating utility. I submitted a ticket to Corel Support, and they told me to install the SP1. But I had trouble installing that service pack, but looking at my version, I see that I have 16.1.0.45. So maybe I already had installed it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just started to play with painting creator and would love to use it but I have two issues. Firstly, I always want to use the pencil with brush size 8. It appears that every time I launch painting creator, everything is reset and I have to select the pencil and change the size. Second, my biggest issue is that when I draw something, I would like it to stay on the screen for a few seconds once the drawing has finished. It seems to disappear immediately the drawing finishes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI get this strange thing when editing clips in VS x3 - each clip has 3 frames the same at the beginning. It's a real pain, as it mean I have to cut each clip at the start. I always assumed it was something to do with the footage from my Canon HG20 camcorder. It's a HDD camcorder, and though I don't shoot in HD (I shoot in SP - 7 sbps), I never used to get the problem when editing mini DV clips. I recently downloaded the Pinnacle Studio 15 trial, however, and noticed that it didn't happen in that editor. I prefer VS X3, and also like the trial of VSX4, though the problem persists in that version, as well.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a title at the end of the movie which I'd like to appear as movie credits and I want the final 3 lines to stay on the screen (not exit).
My text starts moving and when it reaches a certain point, pauses for a few seconds and then it continues to move and then disappears. I want to change the pause point of the text but I can't figure out how to do it and also I want the paused text to stay on the screen until the end of the movie.
Regarding VSX5 Titles/Menus
In the finalized DVD the menu page appears only for a maximum of 30 seconds before continuing to play the movie. Is it possible to introduce a 'Pause until play is selected' option?
That is to say no automatic playing of the movie until the user decides.
I recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!
I have a LIVE show recorded and I want to add Video Filters in various places within a single 4 minute video. Do I need to cut up my video to segments to add filters too or can I apply them to different spots in a single video?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to use both motion mixer and motion flow in 3dsmax2012 to create an animation consisting of some .bip clips with pauses between them but have not been able to add the pauses thus far.
More specifically, consider three clips X, Y and Z. I would like to create the following animation with transitions (numbers are frames):
X plays from 0 to 25
Y plays from 26 to 100
pause between 101 to 299 (no transition between Y and Z, character should remain static)
Z plays from 300 to 325
I just can't add that pause with motion flow and when using motion mixer if I try to start clip Z at 300 and set the transition length between Y and Z to be 0 or 1, the program just crashes.
How to add this pause (wait time) between clips. I will be creating these animation sequences automatically with MAXScript later on.
After I press "Space" to play a clip, there is a 12-second pause before the clip actually starts playing.

When I'm doing a command like offset and want to change the amount of the offset, I usually double right click to get me to a command that I can put in a new distance. The problem is when I do a quick double click it has a pause and will not do the second click. If I wait and take a couple of seconds between clicks, it works fine. I have my "right click customization" turned off. Is there a setting that I can turn down the pause or get rid of it?

wondering if there is a way to pause inside a loop. I am away that jQuery has a delay() function but i can't seem to get it to work.
was thinking something like:
blob = "This is a test of the emergency broadcast system";

{
sym.$("Text").delay(300).html(blob[i]);
}
Is there a way to set 20 fps for my video in corel video studio x3 ?
i made a 3d animation and rendered about 3000 single frames as .bmp . Now i want to put them together to a video. the speed of the animation is preset, so i need every frame to show up for 0.05 second..... 20 fps not 15, not 24, not 25 and not 29.97, but exactly 20 fps. i don't know if i am just very stupid, but i can not find the settings for this.
My viewport is currently struggling handling an imported 700k Poly ZBrush sculpt. My tech current specs are -
- 3DS Max 2011 - Updated, with no extra patches.
- i7 2.80GHz
- ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (Default Settings, DirectX 9 + Redraw Scene on Window Expose on)
- 2x2 Gig RAM
- Windows 7 64 Bit
the viewport will constantly freeze/pause for 3 seconds before orbiting or panning just fine, and when using tools such as relax or soft-selection on a small area of the basic naked human mesh (About 400 verts) the viewport will drop to be about 2 fps.
I don't know whether this is the most appropriate rig in the world, but from my previous experience with slower rigs on 3ds 7-9, 700k wouldn't produce unbearably stuttering viewport renders.
Are there any obvious ways I could improve 3DS's performace?
I have made a pause and a play button to my slideshow.The pause button is just a boks with the click-action code:
sym.$('btn').click(function(){
sym.stop();
});
The pause button is a boks with the click-action code:
sym.$('btnPlay').click(function(){
var timelinePos = sym.getPosition();
sym.play(timelinePos);
});
It works but in the beginning, I have to click twice before the function works. It is only the first time. After that everything works fine.
I have an animation that runs for around 2 minutes. I want to add a button that the user can click to pause/play this animation if they want extra time to read the content on screen. I'm not sure how to tell a button to pause at the current frame and resume when clicked by the user. The button will also need to change states from a pause image to a play image when clicked and vice-versa.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWith the installation of SP1 (VSX4), the options to create a blu-ray video file (assuming 1920x1080 only, though the same options exist for 1440x1080) are now:
Blu-ray (1920 x 1080)
Blu-ray H.264 (1920 x 1080P)
Blu-ray H.264 (1920 x 1080)
Now, I want to create a 'standard' Blu-ray disc of family videos. My camera is a Canon Vixia HF20, recording in 1920x1080 in the '60i' mode. The camera creates AVCHD formatted files. I know I don't want the progressive option, however, what is the difference between the other two options (is it MEG4 vs. AVCHD? If so, what should I choose when creating a new disc?). I want my disc to support as many blu-ray players and HDTV's as possible since I will be giving copies to various family members (meaning I don't want a format that supports only the latest releases of blu-ray players).
Can it actually be done? If I so much as drop 3D file onto the timeline and tag it as 3D (SBS L-R in my case), I get the "... lost 3D attributes..." message when I try to create a 3D file. I tried tagging a 2D file as 3D for S&Gs and got the same result. In case it matters, the files are in .avi format (and even rendering a 2D version of these makes a jumpy video, but I digress...).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased Video Studio Pro X3 and I love it . In my opinion it is possible to capture video from the video camera. I have a JVC HD camera
This the camera I purchased.

I would like to hook my camera up to my computer

How do I do this. Now of course my camera records off an SD card and I can just stick it in there and edit. The reason I am hoping I can capture video just like I can with a webcam is because the view screen on my camera no longer functions so therefore I can only point in my general direction and center up the shot in post edit.
When I record in 720p @ 30 FPS my raw files are usually around 30-35kbit rate, however whenever I compress the videos they seem to drop to around 18k bitrate which really put my videos below the standard I want. I've tried to add my own compression templates but whatever I do, I can't seem to get any of the compression options above 20.000 bitrate.
I have tested with Sony Vegas and with that I can pretty much choose myself what bitrate I want it to be. Although I know Corel a lot better and its easier for me to do what I want with it.
- How can I compress my files with higher bitrate? I want it around 30.000k.
Is it me or am I really seeing that X5 has LESS video encoding options vs X4? Really? I remember having lots of choices and options as far as how to encode MP4 the size (or ratio, etc 720 vs 1080p)
I can't seem to get 1080p but I can get 720p but in X4 I recall I could do 1080p for MP4 though.
I'm new to video editing and am using video studio Pro X3, everytime I edit some video or want to use a clip. The trimmed video always flashes the first frame at the start and finish of the trimmed clip. Also when I add a subtitle or text in the time line, that first frame flashes by at the beginning and end of of the text. This is very annoying and doesn't look very good in the project. How can I remove this first frame and how do I prevent it in the first place??
