Revit :: Shaft Opening Default Offsets To 0
Aug 12, 2013Trying to create a shaft opening, but the top and bottom offsets are defaulting to 0'0", which automatically delivers an error message stating the obvious.. "the top of the opening is lower than the bottom of the opening or coincident with it..." Can't delete the element as one has not been created..

Nov 18, 2013I am creating a beam system. I click the "beam system" button on the structure panel. However, it then goes into sketch mode without stopping to allow me to select "automatic beam system" and/or "Tag on Placement." Fortunately, I can see that "automatic beam system" is already selected in the split second that flashes before going to sketch mode.
However, I do not have the opportunity to select the "Tag on Placement." I am really new to Revit and thus I am wondering if there is a different way to possibly turn on the tagging since the way I know is not an option.

Jan 8, 2013I would like to get a brand new 4TB drive to place all of my home videos and photos. I'm trying to decide if I should keep the photos and videos on separate smaller drives or on this single 4TB drive. Also I'm rying to decide if I should import the videos into Lightroom for tagging.
1. Would you recomend using a single drive for all of your photos and videos (I will be using a second drive to backup everything)? Does this slow down LR or cause any other potential issues?
2. Are there any issues with importing tons of videos files ranging anywhere from a few MB to hundreds of GB into LR for tagging?
Photoshop Elements :: 8 Slows Down When Tagging And Captioning
Oct 25, 2012I'll start off will some system specs:
i5 m450 @ 2.40ghz
win7
4gb memory
approx 200 gb of free hd space
running pse8 with approx 39,000 images, very small amount of video clips.
people recognition and auto analyze are turned off.
The issue is that when adding tags and captioning to multiple files the application slows down and sometimes freezes for short amount of time.
Would installing additional ram totaling 8gb useful or does ram play any role in the performance of the application?

Aug 2, 2004I am trying to make a web photo album in PS CS and am using the automatic feature that's built in. In that feature window, there is an option to add a custom text "tag" to the images to deter copying by others. I type in the text I want and complete everything there, however, when I click OK and make the album, it does not add the "tag"....when the images 'pop' up in PS as it goes through them all and creates the album, you can see that it adds the tag, but when the album is complete, NO TAG

Jul 26, 2012I exported a Bim model (IFC format) from Butler Advantage XP. When I open the IFC in Revit it says that it can't create blend and can't regenerate family. When I continue, by deleting the elements, the model is without the roof on the building. Is there a way to prevent this from happening before I export it from the other program, or a way to fix it once I import it into Revit?

"This file is already open for editing by another user. You will be unable to save any changes before that user closes the file."
Since I am the only one working on the project there are no other users and as far as I can tell no other files open. Any insight into what has triggered this message?

May 15, 2013my laptop has been stolen and I had to buy a new PC...The new one is a windows 8, therfore, I had to install revit 2014....the problem is that I have been working on a graduate class project using revit 2012, and now revit 2014 will not open the files I built on revit 2012...I have only 10 days to rebuild what I have been working on for 3 months!!!...is there any way to open a revit 2012 on 2014 or at least convert it to work on 2014.

A door has been created in the existing phase, and demoed in the new phase. Where the door has been demolished an infill with the base appears, great! In the new phase I inserted a larger door that cuts the existing walland the entire infiil from the demolished door, but the base still remains. How do I get the new door to cut the base that was created as a result of the infill?

The wall will only be removed so that it is above the new ceiling. How do a create an opening in it that is not room bounding? AutoCAD Inventor :: Spline One End Of The Shaft
Nov 18, 2010I have created a shaft and splined one end of it successfully. The shaft is the same diameter at both ends and I need to spline the other end as well but when I try, I get the following error messages, Cannot create iFeature. Not possible to create shaft groove. Splining the first end went without a hitch but Inventor absolutely refuses to spline the opposite end of the shaft. The shaft diameter is correct for the spline I have chosen (same as the major diameter)
