Premiere Pro :: No Audio When Importing AVCHD
Aug 13, 2013I'm new to video editing and I have been using Final Cut Pro X but I have Premier as part of my Creative Cloud Subscription so I want to give it a try.
I have some footage from a Panasonic camera which has imported fine into Final Cut but when I try to import into Premier I don't get any audio.
I'm using the media browser and I've copied the full contents of my card and like I say it does work in Final Cut.

I have used the Media Browser multiple times with different footage shot to an AVCHD camera, and after bringing the 1080p video into CS6, I get audio dropouts and sometimes no audio at all, even though there is definitely audio with the footage.
1. Is this a known bug?

Apr 22, 2014I have tried a couple of things to try and get Premiere to see the AVCHD files. I have copied the all the files over from the Canon Xa10 individually and the "Private" folder and then tried to import. Still couldnt see them. It seems like its not a supported file type. PP should be able to do this shouldn't it?

Oct 30, 2013I've been doing some game recordings with Nvidia's new ShadowPlay. The recording says it is done in "1080p @ 60 FPS with H.264". The recorder outputs into a .mp4 file. When I watch the raw footage, it is all properly synced. However, when I import it into Premiere, it is always out of sync without fail. I know very very little about the program, and have been trying to learn as I go, but I can't seem to figure out how to re-sync it. For now I've been having to cut the sound into parts and adjust the rates manually to get it to sync back up, but this is insanely tedious.

Sep 5, 2012I'm using Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer with Premiere Elements10 Installed. I have a number of files of type MTS which I understand to be AVCHD and are imported from my Panasonic Lumix TZ20 camera which captures HD video. These files will not play in the Organizer, resulting in a message stating the required Codec is missing. However, when the same file is sent to Premiere Elements for Editingand agreeing to a message to have Premiere set the correct properties for the media type it plays perfectly. What am I do wrong? Are there any settings I need to change to have Organizer also play the file successfully?

Importing video AVCHD (home video) - video plays fine....but i hear no sound.
Pumped up volume on PSE video screen and computer master volume...but still no sound. It cant be that difficult to get sound...could it?
All i did was import the video from my C drive into PSE 11. When i play the video on windows media player, it plays fine. I hear the sound perfectly at 5.1 surround. So i know the movie file is good.....so why wont the sound import into PSE 11?
My camcorder is new 2013. SonyHD w/ 5.1 surround sound
I would think there would be no compatibility issues since i am using latest PSE 11 and a newer camcorder.

Dec 13, 2013I have several business partners that are supplying me with .mp4 files from Adobe live flash media encoder, using the h.264 codec, but the only audio choice is for an MP3 codec. this combination displays/plays no audio in Premiere Pro CS5. Only after I use handbrake to convert the audio to the AAC codec with it play in the Timeline.The upgrade to the main concept plug-in for AFMLE will allow for this, but the business partners are reluctant to spend the $ .is CS6 compatible with the default of FMLE with h.264 and the .mp3 audio? if so I will upgrade.

Feb 18, 2012After building a new machine with Premiere CS5.5, using NVIDIA Q4000 card, I'm having troubles wioth my audio being out of sync. I am exporting DSLR footage which the same sequence was previously fine on export on my old computer. Now, when I export, the audio is a few frames out of sync. There's something really funny going on. When I play the same video file in Windows media player, it seems to be in sync. When I play it in Quicktime, it's clearly out of sync. Also, when I upload it to Vimeo, it's out of sync as well.

Premiere Pro :: HDV (MPEG) File Is Importing Without Audio
Feb 13, 2014I'm trying to import an HDV clip into Premiere Pro on my iMac running OSX Lion. I have 5 clips from the shoot and 4 are importing fine. The first sign of trouble is that when I see the clip in the media browser the box is initially bright red. Then, when I import it the video is fine, but it doesn't have audio attached. I watched the clip in Quicktime and the audio plays fine. Is there a limit to what size file you can import into Premiere (this one is very slightly bigger thant he others - 12.67 GB)? Or is there any other reason/work around? I'm not very technical so I'm not sure if I can provide much more info than that. T

Jan 25, 2014When I import a particuar video clip into premier, there is a problem with the audio. It plays absolutely fine until 9 minutes through when all of a sudden the audio loops back to the beginning. The video carrys on as normal untill the end of the clip but the audio starts from scratch. I have tried removing the video, renaming, moving location, starting a new project, but no matter when or how I play the video the audio starts again 9 mins through! The video plays fine in any media player except premier. I have tried exporting the video but unfortunately the audio error also gets exported. The clip is crucial to a video I'm making and can't be re-shot!

Jan 30, 2014I have a several dozen shots, Quicktime ProRes 422 HQ. When I try to import them into Premiere CS6 all the arrives in the bin is the audio of the clips. The video has been stripped. But if I play the clips outside Premiere - just double click them open and play them with Windows Media Player, they play fine.
I'm not having trouble with any other formats.
Just the ProRes. And I must have the necessary Quicktime ProRes plug-in installed, as the individual clips open and play fine.

Jan 21, 2014I'm importing AVCHD files into my timeline in Premiere and have a files that's spanned over three MTS clips. Files originate from a Sony FS700 camera.
The files show correctly but all the material is tripled on the timeline. Files 00012.MTS, 00013.MTS, 00014.MTS are all shown on timeline repeating the same material (on camera this material is spanned throughout these files). All the material is there and all is ok, but it's just imported three times on the timeline.

Feb 4, 2014I am thinking of buying a new Sony camera (finally moving from mini-dv tape!). The HXR-NX3 records video using the AVCHD 2.0 format. Will I be able to import directly into CS 6 without doing any conversions? And will that give me HD video suitable for recording to blu-ray?

After Effects :: Audio File Is Shortened When Import
Nov 7, 2013I have the same audio file in After Effects CC and in Audacity.
The time markers in Audacity are slightly off than they are in After Effects so my timing is all off.
Also, when Im scrubbing in AE, the time stamp jumps from 1;29 to 2;00. This is the only location where it does this (that I know of so far)
Ive tried different file types and frame rates and RAM preview settings and I have no idea where the discrepancy is.

Jan 24, 2011I tested yesterday creating a video using "same as first video". All inserted files were AVCHD. The created video file, typed mpg, was missing audio no matter what I tried: tried mp4, avi, etc. I then turned off Smart Render in the options that pop-up when creating the video and it worked ( I have Smart Render turned off in the Preferences, BTW). Jan 29, 2014I shot some footage in AVCHD with the Canon XA25 and I would like to edit it in Premiere Pro CC. In the Media Browser though, there's no thumbnail and the clip is just called "private" - In FCP7 I can just open the log and transfer and easily convert to ProRES. Is there a way to easily deal with clips from this camera in Premiere?

Feb 11, 2014I have been trying to import an .aep file into Premiere Pro CC from After Effects CC. I import the file. The dynamic import window appears. It states connected to file along with the import files ... dialogue box. It stalls there.
I have been working off my network and have all the files collected on my machine.
My workaround to get me to deadline was to render my clips from AE and import them. Importing the .aep would make more sense from efficiency and workflow.

Mar 6, 2013I just got done installing the Corel Videostudio Pro x6, I am trying to import my own personal music-audio file into the music track, however when I do the system crashes or another way of saying it, a window pops open saying Corel has stop working. This same problem happen with the x5 Pro version. I notice that the pre-loaded audio files in Corel are files of MPEG-1...do I need to convert my MP3s into MPEG-1 in order for this to work?
I have a few converting tools but none of them can convert MP3s into MPEG-1..
After Effects :: Multiple Audio Tracks In One Video File Import?
Mar 29, 2014I'm trying to get back into making youtube videos and I am running into an issue. I have an Hauppauge HD PVR 2 gaming edition. Now one of the features that makes it easier for commentators like me is the ability to have all of the audio channels [game, mic, PC (aka skype chat)] all on seperate "layers" that way you can go into your video/audio editor and have the different audios so you can tweak them individually.
The problem that I have and wondering about is this, is there a way to import the files and have the different audio tracks be seperate? The files that they come in are either .ts [raw] or .mp4 [in program compression]. I would like to keep it in .ts even though its a bigger file as I like my compression style after I've edited that gives the best look without loss when uploading to youtube.
I have see the free program at any-video-converter.com mentioned, but the issue is last time I used it I somehow ended up with a virus. I also have handbrake, the Master collection cs 5.5, and VLC.

Mar 10, 2014I know in the past Premiere Pro wouldn't import a layered AI file, but is that still the case? I can get a layered PSD file to import layers as normal. When I try to import a layered AI file, I don't get the "Import Layered File" dialog as I do with the PSD files; I get a flattened image. Is this a setting I've overlooked or is this STILL not a feature?

Mar 5, 2014I've been working the last 6 months with 4 GH2s and ran into some strange troubles when initially importing them to the timeline. 2 hour shots are divided into 6 or 7 different files, and when brought into PP the first clips audio was assigned to all the other remaining clips. This was pretty strange, but I fixed it by using TSmuxer. It was added time in the workflow/set up, but in the end I could produce;
The latest update of PPCC now combines the entire 2 hours of footage into each of the 7 files being imported. So it is importing 2 hours of footage 7 times for each camera. The conforming is taking forever! For 4 cameras it's conforming 14 hours of footage each, when it should literally be a 7th of that.
It is taking up large amounts of time and disk space.
