Dec 21, 2013I have a video clip that I have edited, and once it finishes exporting, I cannot open it in any video playing application. Upon checking the file's Properites, it says that it is a 24 byte file... this can't be right. In the Export Settings window it says that it's several gigabytes!
I'm using a custom built PC, running the most up-to-date version of Windows 8. I have a quad-core Intel Ivy Bridge Processor, AMD HD Radeon 7770 GPU, 8 GB of 1600 MHz RAM, a 256 GB SSD running the OS and frequently used applications, and a 1 TB HDD. I am running Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and it is completely up to date.
I have been digitally converting old VHS, 8mm, and miniDV tapes. I have a digtial converter that has Composite ports and an S-Video port on it. It connects to the computer via USB. I have a program called Debut Video Capture that records the video and saves it as an uncompressed .mp4 video file. Premiere Pro also has another issue where the audio and video are always out of sync because it can't seem to handle videos with variable framerates, so, I open the videos in Quicktime 7 Pro, and save them as a Reference Movie—This makes it so the videos are at a constant framerate. I take these files and import them into Premiere Pro. My sequence is DV - NTSC Standard 48kHz (the videos are all in an old 4:3 format). I'll drop the clips into the timeline and edit them, edit out the blue screens and splice different clips and such, lower the volume, and slightly increase the Scale in the Video Effects.
When everything is done... I'll open up the Export Settings.
I set the Format to H.264 and Preset to NTSC DV or NTSC DV Widescreen depending on the ratio of the video. Some of the videos are very long (1 Hour or longer... one video is almost 4 hours long). I will go down to the Bitrate Settings and change the Bitrate Encoding to CBR, and set the Target Bitrate to a reasonably high number. I try to have a minimum of 10 Mbps, or if the video isn't that large, I'll set it to 14. If the Estimated File Size is over like 3 GB (I'm not sure of the number, but it works for these long videos when they're under like 3 GB). If the videos go over, they'll encode for an hour or longer and when it's done, it will save and appear as a 24 byte file.
The only thing I've got is to make the Target Bitrate very small, that's the only way the videos will encode, but then the quality degrades...
Premiere Pro :: Restore Corresponding Audio (or Video) To A Clip On Timeline?
Jun 27, 2013This is a daily occurrence. As I go along editing, I inevitably come upon some video clip (or audio clip) on my timeline that is missing it's original audio (or video) counterpart. I've previously deleted the audio portion (or video) at some point earlier in the edit, when it made sense to do so. Now, though, I change my mind, or I need to hear the audio to sync other clips, or just hear the audio for reference, etc.
How do I bring back the corresponding media? I love the new "Join Through Edits" command in Premiere Pro CC, it seems that a companion feature would be something like "Restore Original Linked Audio / Video"
Match Frame seems close to what I need, but involves a few more steps than a right-click, or keyboard shortcut (maybe I don't properly understand how it works). Does any command exist that would do what I'm needing? I can't imagine I'm the only one who would need this function DAILY.

I've seen the suggestions for adding a radial shadow and am unsatisfied with the results; it's nearly impossible to center the image within the border and many other suggestions out there do not address CS 5.5.

Mar 23, 2014It was working before. Now I can't insert any audio at all. I even tried using some of the video clips that I have already extracted audio from and they no longer work. When I have it up in the source box I can play it and the aeudio is there. But if I ovrwrite the clip or drag the clip it adds the video only with no audio. Even if I try to drag just the audio it won't allow me to put it in any ofc the audio trays. Did I acidentally push a button and turn iaudio off. How do I fix this?

I'm assuming that I should go with the picture that has the smallest distance from the bottom of the picture and then crop the others so the distance appears to be the same in them as well. But is there a way to make that a simple process?

Photoshop :: Crop Marks Not In Correct Place When...
Nov 5, 2008I have created a document that will be cut to 120mm x 120mm, I wanted to include a 10mm bleed around it so I made my Photoshop doc 140mm x 140mm.
When I go to the Print dialogue I have checked "Corner Crop Marks", set the bleed to 10mm and in the preview I can see that the crop marks are inside the image, marking out the correct 120x120 area. However, when I click Print the marks appear on the paper at the 140mm x 140mm area.
Has anyone else had this error, and even more importantly, has anyone found a solution?
I am using Photoshop CS3 (a site license of Web Premium), on a Mac G5 running Windows XP SP2. I have other machines & Photoshop versions available,

I am making a short 10 second sequence to be displayed as a new years promo on two digital billboards. The requirements are that it is in .wmv format which doesnt pose much of an issue but is still relevent, and I need a copy in 880x256 and one in 448x160.
I have tried so many different avenues to get this to work over the course of a few hours and cannot seem to find a way for this to work out in my favor.
I started two seperate sequences each of custom settings with the specified resolution (880x256 and 448x160). I create the sequence for each and fit the frames accordingly.

Mar 17, 2014I have created 3 different sequences, and placed a clip into each one. I went into #s 1 and 2, and added a dip to black transition to the end of the clip in each. When I went to #3, I was unable to add the dip to the clip in there. Dragging the transition to the clip on the timeline gave me a had with a circle + slash. Double clicking the transition wit hteh clip selected did nothing. The layer is not locked.

Feb 3, 2014I used to have this problem with CS5 and hoped it wouldn't happen again when I bought in to CC.
In the timeline certain audio tracks will not allow me to enable clip keyframes. When I try the 'add keyframe' button is greyed out. I can add track keyframes no problem but using them is a lengthy work around. The error also seems to be radom and trashing my prefs makes no difference.
Specs are:
iMac 27" 3.4GHZ i7, 16GB DDR3, Radeon HD 6790M 2GB

Feb 19, 2014I have a project which requires a lot of different edits from the same clip.
Is there any way to do this without having to duplicate the same clip each time and then making my new edit?
For instance -
Clip 1 is 20 minutes long.
My first edit is from 1:10 to 1:35.
I then duplicate Clip 1 and make another edit from 2:40 to 3:55. I'm using Premier CS5.

Jan 16, 2014I saw YouTube video where a guy cropped down a video and then he somehow selected only the edge of the frame and somehow stretched it to extend the background over. The effect was that he made some junk at the side of the frame go away without effectively zooming in on his main subject matter.
I am unable to find this video now. I know how to do it in Photoshop. Just use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and select the edge of the image, copy to a new layer, and stretch it out. I've got to imagine the steps are similar for a video - just need to know which tools to use.

Mar 18, 2011I use Xara sometimes to resize images/photos. Quite often I use the clip view function to crop the image to the precise size I need.
I just recently found that when I export my clipped views, always as pngs, they have a very small 1 to 2 pixel edge around them. I can keep clipping but it continues to stay there. I exported with alpha and without to see if it made a difference but it doesn't.
I am now having to use my raster program to resize but had liked using Xara for it. The raster program works fine and I suppose every program has its uses so I just won't use Xara for photo clipping and exporting anymore. I just think that there shouldn't be an issue since Xara seems to want to handle photos more.
The attached images show extreme closeup of a blue image on a black background (the black background is used for checking this very problem).
Premiere Pro :: Double Click On Clip In Timeline
Mar 23, 2014If you double-click on a clip in a Timeline it will open in the Source Monitor.
That feature is sometimes confusing, because if you do it by accident and think that you are viewing your source clip and set a new Mark In after the original Out point, the clip will disappear from the Timeline.
Is there a good reason for that feature or is it a bug?
