View 1 RepliesI have a client that would like me to add closed captioning to his videos.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a trial of 7.2.1 (I'm a *long* time CS user) and am having an issue with closed captioning that's got me pulling my hair out. Upon importing a .scc file and inspecting it in the captions tab, I have all the captions I'm expecting at the proper timecodes (for example if I look up the start of a line in the program window the start timecode matches the "In" timecode listed in the Captions tab).
However upon playing the timeline and turning on Closed Caption display - the captions are not displaying (nor disappearing) at the in/out timecodes listed in the caption tab. They're showing up (roughly) seven seconds later at the beginning of the program, and over 11 seconds late by the end of the program.
I guess it's possible it's just a player issue and the issue will correct itself on output, but that's not really comforting. I could do what I need on this job by renewing my license for some other software, but Premiere would be a more versitile use of my limited software upgrade budget - but only if it can actually do the job properly.
Do Photoshop CC Video tutorials have Closed captioning features to turn on and watch during viewing Tutorials ?
If so where can this feature be turned on ? This question also would apply to any other Video Tutorials On Adobe TV.
I have added closed captions to my Premiere Pro project took bloody ages and all looks and runs great within the project. Simple white captions over the video.
Although, when I render the video out with the closed captions embedded within the video, cirtain captions seem to have slightly "dodgy" formatting when played back in quick time player.
Some sections of the captions have a black background on and some do not. As I previously mentioned the captions are all fine within the project. It just seems to happen on the render file
I'm making a documentary with subtitled footage. A translator has used closed captions within Premiere to create the subtitles for me.
Now I need some way of formatting them. I have the full Adobe CC suite (including After Effects and Premiere) but haven't been able to find a way to convert or export Premiere Closed Captions into a way that allows me to format them (ie change font, size etc).
I accidentally closed the tab that showed all the media I imported and I can't find a way to bring it up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning Premiere CC 7.2.2 on a Mac Mini 10.9.2. I noticed that exporting ProRes422 media does not include embedded closed captions when exporting via AME CC. It does however work when exporting directly from Premiere. The AME file has no captions at all, while Premiere's export does. So while this is not a show stopper, it greatly slows down production since Premiere is tied up until the export is complete. I have checked AME's preset which is identical as in Premiere and can only think that processing the closed captions is not included when the media is sent to the queue.
If no one from Adobe can shed light, I will file a bug report as it most certainly looks like it is.
I am using Premiere CS6 (Windows 7) to create a movie with closed captioning. I use the MovieCaptioner software (http:[url]...) to create the mcc captions dada file. In Premiere I attach the mcc file to a timeline sequence and enable closed captioning display. I can see the movie with captions in the program window. In closed captioning settings I have cc area and service both set to 1. I am having difficulty finding the correct set of parameters that will make Premiere export a movie which includes and displays the captions.
View 28 Replies View RelatedI'll start off will some system specs:
i5 m450 @ 2.40ghz
win7
4gb memory
approx 200 gb of free hd space
running pse8 with approx 39,000 images, very small amount of video clips.
people recognition and auto analyze are turned off.
The issue is that when adding tags and captioning to multiple files the application slows down and sometimes freezes for short amount of time.
Would installing additional ram totaling 8gb useful or does ram play any role in the performance of the application?
I have used PEDIT to join multiple polylines, which now appear as polylines. But when I use QSELECT to show all open (non-closed) section, one polyline still shows up as open.
I've attached the file I'm working on. The polyline in question is the green outline on the object on the right.
i want to have multiple offsetoutlines on a closed or non-closed path. with "offset path" i can make only one additional outline but i need multiple?
i searched all over the net for answers with no success.
I have several Premier cs3 projects using the Matrox system which I want to import into Premier CC. Howeer the CC will not accept the avi files that were used in the cs3 software. Do I need a special codec for matrox avi files? Where can I get that? Adobe obviously has it as I use it in the cs3 version?

We create many DV files each day that can't be used with CS6. Any sort of conversion would just add another unnecessary step. Do I need to stay with CS5
View 7 Replies View Relatedhow to import subtitles to PPro. So far, as of writing this post, PPro does not handle subtitle files. Fortunately, I found a quick and dirty workaround to importing all kinds of subtitle formats to PPro as PNG. But firstly, there are 3rd party plug-ins that lets you import srt files into PPro and let's you edit it in PPro.
NB: Subtitles are better as a seperate file. But in case you really need to burn your subs on the video, then follow the steps below.
Steps:
1. If you have a long project and and don't want to use PPro's title module, then you must go and download Subtitle Edit. - it's a great FREE software that has an video monitor and audio waveform where you can scrub to the specific time you want.
2. Once you're done subtitling, go to File > Export > Final Cut XML + PNG (i know it's FCP but it works well with PPro too) You can then set the desired style for your subtitles, font color, size, etc. Once you've exported, it's going to output 2 main files: one, the PNG files and two, the XML file.
3. Import the XML to PPro. It's going to generate a Sequence with the subtitles as PNG in it.
4. Relink the PNGs. For whatever reason, when you import the XML, the PNGs are not linked yet.
5. Place your subtitle sequence on your main timeline. Reposition and reframe as needed.
6. Render. Might take 10% longer than usual.
I work on a Windows 7 machine. I have Creative Cloud. I am trying to import an aaf that my editors have sent me. They first sent me an .aaf with "AAF edit protocol" checked and all the media imbedded in the file. It gave me a Generic Error after trying to import.
I had them re-export the .aaf this time with links to the media as instructed on all the info I could find online. On import into Premiere, it begins to import and then just hangs. It just sits there. If I click Cancel or the 'x' in the upper right of the window, then Premiere stops responding and I have to shut it down using Windows Task Manager.
How do I import an MKV file into Premiere Pro CS6?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to import an .aep file into Premiere Pro CC from After Effects CC. I import the file. The dynamic import window appears. It states connected to file along with the import files ... dialogue box. It stalls there.
I have been working off my network and have all the files collected on my machine.
My workaround to get me to deadline was to render my clips from AE and import them. Importing the .aep would make more sense from efficiency and workflow.
I've just tried to import a bunch if .avi files into Adobe Premiere (OSX) but they all failed due to missing codec. Is there a way around this? I've looked at some other threads but don't understand it all and i'm on a bit of a deadline.
I've currently installing it on my windows box as i know OSX doesn't play nice with avi anyway, is it likely to work?
The avi files have multiple streams -2 camera angles are recorded, when they are loaded both show and play in sync so i'm worrying about converting to another format.
I have a few hours of a documentary project originally recorded in S-VHS that I wish to edit it in Premiere Pro.
What would be the best video format to have it transferred to?
I recently moved to CC in order to be able to work with Blackmagic's DNG raw files inside Premiere Pro. The move was successfull, I could work with such files. However, all of a sudden, I cannot import them into Premiere Pro. First, I cannot select the files and import them as a sequence, because the box will not activate.
Second, when I click on the folder containing the files, Premiere tries to import them, but then an error message appears saying "file format not supported".
I have seen other discussion threads about failures to import Blackmagic Cinema POCKET raw files, but I am working with files from the 2.5K Blackmagic Cinema Camera, which should give no trouble. In fact, as I said, I was perfectly able to work with them.
I have introduced no changes in my computer or the CC Suite, so this sudden error is all the more puzzling. The wav file will get imported, but none of the DNG files will.
The whole video doesn't import, only part. I can import the entire video in AVS Editor, but not Premier Pro.

I've been doing some game recordings with Nvidia's new ShadowPlay. The recording says it is done in "1080p @ 60 FPS with H.264". The recorder outputs into a .mp4 file. When I watch the raw footage, it is all properly synced. However, when I import it into Premiere, it is always out of sync without fail. I know very very little about the program, and have been trying to learn as I go, but I can't seem to figure out how to re-sync it. For now I've been having to cut the sound into parts and adjust the rates manually to get it to sync back up, but this is insanely tedious.

I am running a PC with Win7 & PPro CS6
I have a bunch of clips that were copied over from iMovie imports (no original files exist anymore)
They are all a special form of .mov
I can play them in VLC Media Player (but not Quicktime, or WMP) so I know that a pc can handle them...
When I import into CS6 I get an errorsaying Codec missing or unavailable...
Whered can I get the proper Codec?
When I import a sequence into another, only the video imports now

I have copied the all the files over from the Canon Xa10 individually and the "Private" folder and then tried to import. Still couldnt see them. It seems like its not a supported file type. PP should be able to do this shouldn't it?

I'm importing a 878,367KB .mov file into Premiere Pro - and while the full audio is there, the video screen is just green. When I put it into a sequence, the preview pane is black - and when I try to render it, it says "Error compiling movie. Unknown error."
