View 6 RepliesMy Photoshop CS5 freezes the first time I try to open a JPEG file. As soon as I choose the Open command and try to being in a jpeg file it locks up.
I had uninstalled and re-installed the program twice now with no change. My operating system is Windows XP Pro.
I am having problems with Gimp windows freezing and the resize buttons disappearing. I am not able to move the windows around, change window etc.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running Photoshop CS6 (Creative Cloud subscription) on a Windows 8 machine. While Photoshop itself starts perfectly OK when I click on the Bridge ikon I get a revolving little circle for a few seconds, then nothing. The same happens when I try to start it from within Photoshop. Mini Bridge says it can't start without full bridge running.
How to get Bridge to run. The only clue I can give to what could be the problem is that I had CS2 running on the machine prior to installing CS6 and I wonder if there is still some detritus from that installation hanging around. By the way I have searched the forum and tried most of the cures suggested in the past for similar problems on earlier versions of Photoshop. It is a anoyance rather than a game stopper for me as I manage my photo library using Light room but I would like to sort the problem out.
I have downloaded cs6 on a windows 8 pc and bridge wont preview my nef files even tho camera is listed in camera raw

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've installed CS6 (CS5 is still on the machine), and in the Bridge Menu, there is no longer a Batch menu item for initiating actions. In Bridge's Edit/Preference command, I have the Startup Scripts checked. There are no files in the "Startup Scripts" folder.
I don't see a "Startup Scripts" folder in CS5, only in CS6.I can still do batch operations directly from Photoshop CS6's automate window, however, I like the ability in Bridge to select specific files on which to run the action.
This is a pain previous version opened directly into Photoshop, is this a bug can this be changed from Windows Viewer default to Photoshop

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.
Machine Specs:
Dell Optiplex 990
250GB HD
8GB Ram
I7-2600 proc
AMD Radeon HD 6670 (1Gb) Video Card
I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
There is no crash report. With Bridge CS5 everything works fine. (Opening RAWs with minibridge CS6 works file too.)

View 2 Replies View Relatedpurchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop.
While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash...
In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.

I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running the Adobe Photoshop CS3 trial on a HP Pavillion tx2000z (2 gig ram) in Vista. I'm on day 14 and suddenly it doesn't work anymore.
When I open it, it lets me open a photo or create a new canvas. Then, I can do one thing-like create a type layer/mask, a fill layer, etc etc. After that, all the options in all the menus become unclickable, except 'open recent,' but I can't select an option within that menu, so a lot of good that is. It won't even let me save unless I exit the program, in which case it brings up the "are you sure you don't want to save before you quit" dialogue box.
I originally thought that it was part of the trial that I would lose these features.
I realize that if it was part of the trial, I would be able to click "Activate" or "Register."
Have a problem with Photoshop 7 freezing sometimes when I use any of the painting tools, then have to restart the computer. Running Mac, OS 9.2.2, 500mb ram.

Running Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP Pro SP2
It is a very fast machine, but when I'm using Photoshop CS3, it freezes, like a slow CPU...
It runs fast for heavy operations, like applying filters, but freezes with very simple operations, like creating a new blank layer... when I press CTRL+L for levels, it takes a long time to appear the levels window...
Also, the mouse pointer 'jumps', freezes...
I tried to change the "scratch disk" options... and it still freezes...
I just loaded CS6 on my Windows 7 computer. It worked fine yesterday, but today every time I open it it freezes up and does nothing. No error messages appear, it just sits there. I can't click on anything. Should I remove it and reload it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Creative Suite 6 about 3 months ago and Photoshop has been freezing up when I am working. I can not figure out what action I do that provokes this. I either have to wait about 60 to 90 sec. before I can continue to work or I have to restart the program by using "force quit".

View 5 Replies View RelatedBasically PS is freezing up temporarily, after 2-3 minutes then it becomes usaable again until it decides to feeze again. I do most of my editing in Lightroom, and only use PS because I like to just do soem finally touch ups if needed (bit of dodge/burn) and i like to use photokit sharpener (I like to brush in sharpening with actions i have created). So, i can't say for sure what initiates the freezing. Sometiems its while trying to brush in sharpening, other times it won't allow me to save.
I'm on Mac using Snow Leopard. 4Gb RAM. I use a logitech mouse. I had previous been using CS4 with zero problems.I've tried unchecking "save in backgrorund" as well as "use graphics processor"
