if there is any way of automatically appending metadata into images when i save them in Photoshop, i have a metadata file saved in Bridge and want that to be automatically appended into any file i save with Photoshop.
the metedata i want installed is my name and email address, just stuff that links the file to me, not Photoshop, although i dont want it to take anything out that it does allready when saving.
I am using CS3 Photoshop. I have a whole host of brushes (.abr files) that I have slowly downloaded over the years, but now my brush menu is loaded with crap I never use. I can see that I can easily reset my brushes back to default... which I have done. But is there a way to either load all brushes or append multiple sets at once? When I click on "Load Brushes..." it takes me to my Brushes folder but doesn't show any of my ABR files... which is odd because I have like 20 in there.

Trying to make sure my cllients do not have access to my shooting details. IE: shutter speed, F stop etc.
I do not want to remove metadata individually as I have 100's of images to work with.
Is there a one click method to doing this or a way to do it through batch process?
It was mentioned on this forum that there's a 3rd party software but it's hard to believe that this cant be easily done in Photoshop.

In PSE9, how do I set up the Downloader to apply my metadata templates on importing images from a card reader? Previously the Downloader dialog box included this option but my PSE9 Downloader dialog box does not.

I've searched the PS forums and have seen it might be something to do with my monitor settings but I'm not particularly good with technical talk so I haven'tgot a clue what I should be looking for or what I should be changing,
I always close/save any image(s) that I'm working on however when I later reopen PS, the last image(s) I was working automatically open in PS again.

I have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW. This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now. I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." No, this seems to be a bug. What happened?

How can I import images into a new LR library and retain the existing metadata for each image? It only seems possible to import and apply new metadata or to import without applying metadata which means the existing metadata is not imported...?

When I am in lightroom's library (3.5), I would like to change the time of capture for multiple photos, and apply keywords.
However, when I perform either of those actions, the changes are only applied to the image shown in the "more brightly highlighted" image, not all that are selected.
Is there a setting I am missing? I just cannot seem to figure out why this is not working.
Also, I aplogize if my searching skills are weak and this has been covered already. I did attempt to see if this question has been answered before posting.

I will need to set:

Basically I would like to append the paths for the new items, but not overwrite the variety of existing paths.
So I assume I need to read the current paths, read the new paths and append them to the current paths, then write them as updated paths? This is for about 30 users in 11 different offices and varying cad skills.
I can tweak existing LISP routines, but have never written one from scratch. Is there an "easy" way to accomplish this?
I have to make an animation for a game, and I have to put a large number of images exactly next to each other in a line. This takes a lot of time to do by hand. Is there a way (or software) to do this automatically?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one basic metadata preset that I apply to images after they have been imported. I've noticed that on a regular basis, every single image in my library loses its applied metadata preset and it reverts back to "none". For the life of me I cannot figure out why this is happening and I don't know whether it's a bug or a feature.
My standard workflow is that after I import images, I select all the images in the new folder I have designated for those images and apply my specific metadata preset but it seems that a few days later or after I import new images, all metadata presets are gone again. I have noticed this issue with Lightroom 3 and again with Lightroom 4 after I have upgraded so I don't think it's related to a specific version.
I want to extract the metadata I have added to my images and export it into an Excel spreadsheet. Can this be done within LR4.4? If the software doesn't have a function for this is there another way to do it?

We often work remotely on a laptop, then come back to the studio and transfer images from a shoot to the main PC for further work. Some adjustments in Lightroom were done to some images in the folder already, as well as rating some of the best images.
It seems the recommended way of copying images from a laptop to the main PC is to use the "Export as Catalog" function with the "Export negative files" option turned on. However, when working with hundreds of files, this process takes a very long time, and also duplicates the images on the same laptop in the export location. This doesn't work well when working with 50GB of files, especially when only a few of them have any Lightroom adjustments anyways.
Is there a way to just copy the entire directory structure over to the main PC (copying files is fairly quick over Gigabit Ethernet), and then export only the metadata for the files (or catalog) over to the main PC so I can keep the adjustments?
In other words, instead of having to do this:
1. Export as Catalog
2. Wait a very long time for the laptop to duplicate all the images and export files
3. Re-import this catalog to my Main catalog
4. Wait a very long time for this to happen
It would be WAY faster to just do this:
1. Copy entire folder structure from laptop to main PC (this is quick)
2. Export metadata from these files only
3. Import metadata to new PC
I have a very large PDF that I need to open in Photoshop (It is a template image). The size of the image is 125.9843" x 91.5354".
However, when I open in Photoshop the image is automatically resized to about 106" x 79". I have tried to manually input the dimensions upon opening the file, however, when I open the file and check "Image Size" the dimensions are 106" x 79" again.
I can open the image in Illustrator at the correct dimensions automatically, and the PDF file itself is at the correct dimensions.

why does the Date Created metadata change when images are exported? How do I stop it from changing? I must have a preference set up wrong.

Here is how I use filters. Select folders/SE:ECT drive letter where it shows number of images/turn on filters/select metadata/ use flat or hierarcy does not matter, select a date. No problem, all the images from the entire drive relating to a day display.
PROBLEM - multiple images are displayed in grid or filmstrip. Search of the hard drive reveals those multiple images do not exist. Now what is the solution ? Metadata status ALWAYS displays image changed always. Status responds correctly when images are displayed - no problem there.
When Catalog is selected as above, same results are obtained. Does not matter - raw data or processed images into JPEG.
I can't express this problem any better - all the details are there. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? I need the metadata filter to use dates.
I have just moved over to Photoshop CS6 from Elements 10. One thing I can't work out how to do is to have PS automatically convert opened files to RGB, exactly like PSE does.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen opening an image in Photoshop CS6, in order to make the best use of the available screen area for viewing my photos, I have to either press the 'Fit Screen' option, at the top, or double-click the Hand Tool. Why doesn't the image fully fit in the available screen area automatically, when first opening? Is there a reason for images to open by default with empty space surrounding it, or is it an oversight by Adobe, in how the application works?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI have set of imagery in tiff format. For each of the images i have information such as coordinates where it was taken. This is in a text file.
The images are quite large. Like 800mb each.
What i am doing at this point is :
I open each image, copy the details from the text file and paste it inside the image and also I add my company logo. Then i resize it and reduce the size to a suitable one like 40 mb for printing.
What i was wondering if there is a possibility that this can be automated? Like a script or a program that will read from the text file the details, place them inside the image, put the logo in the appropriate place and resize.
Is there a way to export images with borders (like the slideshow layout) and metadata caption (iptc/exif). I'm using a plug-in Mogrify now, but this way I have to export every photo twice (first to create borders, then to add the metadata). photo below is exported with the Mogrify plug-in.
It would be awsome to export photos like the gallery layout since most lightboxes have only 1 line of caption and no design/edit options. This would save heaps of time.
I was working in LR 4 on Mac OS 10.8.4 when I suddenly saw the preview of an older jpg-file when moving the cursor over the image folders: The half of it was blurred. I moved into the folder to find the image and clicked another jpg file. Half of it turned blurred and somehow inverted as well, see here: [URL] .....
I starred at it and in the library view more and more image turned this way. There was an icon next to the images, when I clicked it there was something like (translated): "metadata for this photo was changed by LR or another application. Should LR import the settings from the disk or overwrite the disk’s settings with those of the catalogue?"
There was no new version of the file or something like this. All affected files are jpg files, some from an old smartphone and most from an EOS 5D MII.

When I try to create a document, Gimp finds my web cam, but not the twain driver. The scanner is a perfection 636U. When I click on "create>scanner/camera", it gives me a Twain.exe system error - error message that reads:
"The program can't start because PMDD32F3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Some more info that might be useful:
If I go into epsonscan directly, it finds the scanner and scans just fine. I can export the image and open in Gimp just fine.
The laptop is a win7 machine. There are no Win7 drivers for the scanner. I am using some Win2000 drivers that I used to use in XP with no issue.
The PMDD32F3.dll file is in the Windows>System32 file
I'm at a loss on why epsonscan works itself perfectly, but not in Gimp like it does on my XP machine.
today i'm using a batch file to load paint.net with the images name in the command line.
(this is my workaround)
however since i add images , I sometime forget to add those image names to the batch file, and they do not load.
so is there a way to add to paint.net the option to automatically load upon start the " last open images"
ie. the last images that were open before the program exited ?
