trying to type a title for a book cover, but whenever I go over, say, 24 pt, it gets all fuzzy.
The font is less important than clarity.
How do I type in 60 pt and have the letters look clear and crisp instead of jagged?
Photoshop cs6. Just loaded Photoshop, and with my poor eye sight, i need large fonts in my Workspace, tried Edit> Preferences> Interface> ui font size Large, also tried reinstalling Photoshop but no joy.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am creating posters in Photoshop CS3 to be printing at 16" x 20" / 360lpi. Therefore, I create and add layers to a base 360dpi image sized at 16" x 20". I am not able to add large text (font size approximately 256 points) across the image without experiencing severe antialiasing issues when viewed at 100% regardless how I set the AA value (smooth, sharp, crips, strong).
Is there any possible way to get around this issue without having to buy expensive vector based software to create my textual layers. I image it would be very difficult creating text in a vector appliction when it needs to match the shape, color and styling of my target project image in Photoshop.
My wife is designing in Xara pro and has 1700 fonts she wants to be able to use.How can she organize them into like 20 categories and have access to them in Xara?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed ACAD LT 2011 in my new HP Win7 computer, and the font in the Layer Properties Manager box is so large that it is unreadable. I have attached a file showing a 'print screen'. I need directions on how to put the text back to normal size. I had no problems with this program in my old Dell computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been experimenting with large font sizes on a base image of 2000x3000 pixels. I've been using a basic white type face on a dark gray background and adjusting the lightness and contrast of the white color to different levels. Also, I created the type as as png first and then brought into Gimp. When the image is at full size, the type looks fine, but when I shrink the image down, say a quarter of the size, the edges of the fonts get very jagged and look like they're breaking up.

I've a problem with "DWGtoPDF"-Plotter of Acad2013. I give the textstyle "arial" in Acad and plot it to PDF. In the PDF-Sheet i see the Fontname "ArialMT" in the document-options. I want to give the PDF's away and fear, that he gets an error while opening.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.
I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.
Is there a way to specify a given system font that should be substituted for a given missing font? For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

I have some that I use for everyday pictures and stuff like that.. but Ive tried making the brush as big as I can.. then Ctrl - T and stretch it out.. but by the time in done.. they look so distorted that I almost don't know what they are anymore..

I am using a G5 with dual 1.8ghz processors and 2gb of ram.
I'm saving using large file format,
I'm working with rather large files (.tif ~1000mmx600mm 300ppi) and i get this problem: My Photoshop is installed in C: drive which has approximately
5Gb of free space.
When i make a few actions with those large .tif files (like move a layer or something) my drive gets full. I loose all the free space in my drive. I have to save my work and restart the image to free up that lost space. I know that if i leave more free space on my drive i'll be able to make more actions, but eventually the drive will fill up again and i'll have to restart the image again.
The thing is that i'm working with a laptop which has a hard drive with a
5000 rpm. What if buy an external hard drive with a 7200 rpm and 500 Gb and connect it to my laptop. Would this improve the performance of working with those large files?
Every new file in Photoshop CS5 is suddenly too large. For example, an 8 1/2 x 11 document at 300dpi (created simply with the Photoshop preset), is now 80MB on the disk drive after saving. In the past, it would be only 1MB.

When they save PSD files they're about 1GB in size.
Storage on the server seems to be getting very low now and we need to do something about it. We have several options in place for extra storage but would like your advice on down sizing the PSD files?
For example:
1) Are there add-ins to downsize?
2) Are they saving the files wrong?
3) Are they using wrong effects. layers etc?
4) Is it normal to have 1GB PSD files?
5) What can they do to have smaller PSD files?
I'm using Photoshop CS6 to assemble and export a series of extremely high-res tiles. Long story short, they will be used to make up a large map in a mobile app.
I have a pretty tight deadline and I've just been stopped in my tracks by an error I get when I try to scale them up.
Each tile is a layered PSB file, 16384 x 16384px at 72dpi, about 2-3GB in size. All I want to do is scale them up to double their size - 32768 x 32768px.
When I try to do this, I receive the error, 'Could not complete the Image Size command because the result would be too big'.
What exactly does this mean in terms of size (filesize or pixel dims)? What's the problem?
Since I'm working in PSB format and I'm resizing within the bounds of the 300,000px limit, I don't understand why I'm not permitted to scale up to 32768px.
I need to preserve the layers as Smart Objects in order to upscale them... so no flattening.
All I can think of is splitting the files into smaller tiles (I currently have 28 tiles to upscale).
We have 5 designers sharing design files across a windows network. Everyone is running photoshop CS6 cloud subscriptions (which have auto updated to 13.0.1). The team have created and opened PSD files fine since July. Over the last 3 weeks we have had 5 files so far become unopenable - we get the message: “could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version”. Could it be that they are too large? The problem files are larger than the rest at around the 1GB mark. We are running HPZ210 PCs with Windows 7, solid state drives for the software, regular HDD for the data, and 16 GB Ram. One file at least was housed on a hard drive as well as the server and neither the local or network version of the file opens so it doesn’t seem to be a server issue. Five people on different subscriptions and computers have tried opening the files to no avail. Files were working ok one day, then not opening the next.
