GIMP :: Colour Spectrum Wave Effect
Jun 14, 2013I am trying to think of a way to create a graphic similar to the one I've attached. I am not asking for a 'how to' but more 'How do I approach this?'. I guess the first thing to find out is if there is a name for this sort of effect. 'Colour spectrum wave effect thing' won't get me far.

Feb 3, 2009I need to do a job which consist of a high-quality print of 14cm high x 1100cm long os the color pectrum. the color spectrum order would be: black -> purple -> dark blue -> light blue -> dark green -> light green -> yellow -> orange -> red -> and again dark purple.
Like a big long gradient line from the spectrum as we see in the colour pallete.
I do't have a lcue how to do this, can someone help me in a detail tutorial?
Ps.: I have Photoshop CS3

Nov 23, 2007I have a grayscale image that I want to apply color to. I know how to do that by just colorizing it, but instead, I want to apply a color for the whole document. I know how to do this if I want it to be, say, blue (where black is 100 percent of my blue and 50% gray is 50% of my blue, etc.). But, what if I want a unique gradient across the image (where 100% is blue, 50% is 50% red, 10% is yellow, etc.)? How would I do that?

Oct 11, 2011I'm trying to create a curved "spectrum" of color to use behind the numbers on a gauge.I first tried a linear fill, going from green to red. It's easy, but it doesn't produce the yellow in the color transition.
Next, I tried placing swatches of colors and then using the arch as a mask ... but it would only pick up the solid colors, so there were no transitions. Is there a way to bend the straight color spectrum bitmap shown in the graphic?

Jul 2, 2012I have the list of x,y coordinates for the CIE colour spectrum. How do I import the list so as to draw the spectrum curve?? The curve is the horseshoe shaped curve shown in the figure below [not the straight lines which are colours boundaries] that contains all the spectrum colours. Seems to me I should be able to import the list somehow and CorelDraw would then produce the line.

May 4, 2011I cannot see the full spectrum of my document size in print preview. I have my document setup as 8ft. X 5 ft.
But when i try to see it in print preview it only shows my document between 3 1/2 ft. to 4 1/2 ft.

Illustrator :: High Raster Effect Resolution In Large Document Makes Effect Disappear
Feb 18, 2013I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

Repro: Import any footage to a new project - any resolution or frame rate. Create new composition from clip. Type in "Crop" in effects search Double click to load it. Result is an effect called "Wigglerama" & "transform" gets loaded instead of the required "Crop" effect

Feb 13, 2008Have a project and need to find a way to produce a x-ray effect on a object.
Some methods have entered my mind on how this could be accomplished - > inverting the excised object from my photo(s) > desaturate the objects > inject some artificial luminescence with glow or lighting effects > create a canvas for the x-ray - Before any serious time is invested I thought it would be a good idea to see if anyone has done this before, or has any ideas.

I was thinking the frequency (lines/inch) of my halftone was off, would there be a rule to follow as to how many lines per inch depending on image size?

Oct 18, 2004I am trying to get at is a frontpage of a newspaper. I am going to scan a newspaper and replace the headings with my desired text..
Secondly I am going to replace the photo on the newspaper frontpage with my desired photo. Now, the whole page will be black and white, even the photo. But specific objects in the photo will be colored. Eg, the shoes will be colored but the rest of the body B&W.. How can I get that effect?
